Anabas testudineus, Channa punctatus and Barbodes gonionotus were exposed to 5.62, 6.25, 6.87, 7.50, 8.12 and 8.75 ppm; 1.13, 2.26, 3.39, 4.52, 5.65 and 6.78 ppm; and 2.00, 2.50, 3.00, 3.50, 4.00 and 4.50 ppm of Diazinon 60 EC, respectively. The median lethal concentration (LC50) values of Diazinon 60 EC on A. testudineus, C. punctatus and B. gonionotus were 6.55, 3.09 and 2.72 ppm for 96 hrs of exposure. The fish species showed several abnormal behaviors which included restlessness, arena movements, loss of equilibrium, increased opercular activities, strong spasm, paralysis and sudden quick movements during the exposure. For histopathological studies, A. testudineus, C. punctatus and B. gonionotus were exposed for 7 days to sublethal concentrations of 1.13 and 3.75 ppm; 1.13 and 2.26 ppm; and 1.13 and 2.26 ppm of Diazinon 60 EC, respectively. Hypertrophy, necrosis and pyknosis of hepatocytes, pyknosis and degenerative changes such as necrosis of tubular and haematopoietic cells of kidney were the major histopathological effects

The Difficulties Faced by Micro and Small Enterprises in the Formal Market Access: the Case in Small and Micro Enterprises in the Cities of Makassar and Kabupaten Gowa South Sulawesi

This research aims to analyze about the difficulties faced by micro and smallenterprises in accessing markets in sustaining and expanding the operation and the survivalof their businesses. Samples taken from the 45 micro and small businesses (UMK) chosendeliberately from the entire population. Design research in the applied ResearchExploratory. Data collection is done with in depth interviews with business owners(industry) to obtain data that is associated with this research. From a sample of researchfound that very few micro and small businesses (UMK) managed to access the formalmarket, the main reason is the inability of their products to meet the requirements set bythe institution of a formal marketing, they are only able to do marketing. The conclusionsof the research are: a). skills principals UMK on marketing management are generally verylow, b). quality of the resulting product is still low so as to make their difficulties indealing with competitors in the market, c) continuity in serving customers/partner has yetto be secured, d) difficulty in using modern production technology, because of lack ofcapital, e) slow in doing the response to changes in the market. Recommended: that theGovernment should also play a more active role in facilitating the ease of access to theformal market, by helping UMK in partnerships, and the provision of facilities for productmarket UMK on any area in the form of marketing outlets adopted the model AlphaMarch

Coordinated NanoSIMS and TEM Analysis of a Large 26Mg-Rich AGB Silicate from the Meteorite Hills 00426 CR2 Chondrite

Silicates are one of the most abundant presolar phases around evolved stars, in the inter-stellar medium (ISM), and in our Solar System. These grains afford the opportunity for O, Si, Mg, Fe, and Ca isotopic analyses to constrain stellar nucleosynthetic and mixing processes, and Galactic chemical evolution (GCE). While Mg and Fe isotopic studies have been successfully conducted on presolar silicates, isotopic analyses beyond O and Si are often hampered by the small grain sizes (average ~250 nm). This also makes coordinated mineral and chemical characterization challenging. These studies provide insight into the dust condensation conditions as well as subsequent alteration in the ISM and/or the Solar System. TEM studies of presolar silicates have shown that they are much more mineralogically and chemically diverse than other presolar phases [1 and references therein]. Large (>500nm) presolar silicate grains are rare, but they allow for detailed isotopic, mineral, and chemical characterization. We identified a large presolar silicate grain in the MET 00426 CR2 chondrite and report the O, Si, Mg, and Fe isotopic compositions and TEM study of this grain

On entropy, specific heat, susceptibility and Rushbrooke inequality in percolation

We investigate percolation, a probabilistic model for continuous phase transition (CPT), on square and weighted planar stochastic lattices. In its thermal counterpart, entropy is minimally low where order parameter (OP) is maximally high and vice versa. Besides, specific heat, OP and susceptibility exhibit power-law when approaching the critical point and the corresponding critical exponents α,β,γ\alpha, \beta, \gamma respectably obey the Rushbrooke inequality (RI) α+2β+γ≥2\alpha+2\beta+\gamma\geq 2. Their analogues in percolation, however, remain elusive. We define entropy, specific heat and redefine susceptibility for percolation and show that they behave exactly in the same way as their thermal counterpart. We also show that RI holds for both the lattices albeit they belong to different universality classes.Comment: 5 pages, 3 captioned figures, to appear as a Rapid Communication in Physical Review E, 201

CSI sensing and control: Analytical and experimental results

Recent work on structural identification and large-angle maneuvers with vibration suppression was presented. The recent work has sought to balance structural and controls analysis activities by involving the analysts directly in the validation and experimental aspects of the research. Some new sensing, actuation, system identification, and control concepts were successfully implemented. An overview of these results is given

An FPGA-based divider circuit using simulated annealing algorithm

    Get PDF
Division is considered as the slowest and most difficult operation among four basic operations in microprocessors. This paper proposes a unique division algorithm using a new approach of simulated annealing algorithm. A heuristic function is proposed to determine the global and local optimum value, whereas the conventional approaches use random values to reach the target value. In addition, a new temperature schedule is introduced for faster computation of global maxima/minima. The proposed simulated annealing performs better than the best known existing method of simulated annealing algorithm for smooth energy landscape due to the introduction of a new goal-based temperature. Thus, the proposed division algorithm computes the current partial remainder and quotient bits simultaneously per iteration which reduces the delay of the proposed divider circuit significantly. Moreover, the proposed divider circuit requires only two operations per iteration, whereas the exiting best one requires three operations per iteration. The proposed divider circuit is coded in VHDL and implemented in a Virtex-6 platform targeting XC6VLX75T Xilinx FPGA with a -3 speed grade by using ISE 13.1. The proposed divider circuit achieves an improvement of 36.17% and 44.67% respectively in terms of LUTs and delay factor for a 256 by 128 bit division over the best known contemporary FPGA-based divider circuit. It can be used into the designs of arithmetic logic unit, image processing and robotics system. The experimental result indicates that the divider takes fewer resources, and its performance is steady and reliable
