Critical loads of acidity to surface waters and their exceedances were estimated for north-eastern Bohemia and Moravia in The Czech Republic. 13 400 km² or 17 % of the area of the country has been surveyed. Varying critical loads were observed within the examined region. 19 % of the examined area showed exceedance of critical load, and an other 11 % was close to exceedance. A continuation of the survey is recommended in Bohemia. The Norwegian Ministry of Environmen

Critical loads of acidity to surface waters and exceedance of critical load were estimated for Northern Moravia and Silesia in The Czech Republic. High critical loads were calculated for the examined region. Critical loads for soils are lower than those of surface waters in parts of the examined region. No area of examined region showed exceedance of critical load of surface waters. The studies will continue in Northern Bohemia in 199

Hydrophobic/hydrophilic properties of coal influence significantly value of moisture which represents very important parameter from the point of utilization of coal in energy production. Hydrofobicity were studied by means of contact angle measurements. It was proved that for black coal the hydrofilic properties increase with coalification. On the contrary, this relationship was not found for coals with lower degree of coalification. The value of contact angle is influenced by content of volatile combustibles and content of ash. The dependence of contact angle on the depth of mining was also proved. The value of contact angle decreases with depth

Wide-ranging use of glass systems in modern sacral architecture extends the traditional dialogue between indoor and outdoor space and makes architects look for new forms or harmony between the two, at the same time keeping focus on the most important thing – sense of God’s presence and idea of spiritual transcendence. Compositional application of coloristics, light and shadow under the impact of insolation and visual accents created by the play of light and shadow should underline altarpiece in church space creating the necessary balance and arranging priorities in the right order. Aesthetic harmony has a subordinated significance. A picturesque landscape seen through a glass system has only a subordinate importance. Harmony of indoor/outdoor space in sacral architecture is achieved only in those cases when expressing a hierarchy or priority values such as an altarpiece accentuated with the help of light, interior design opening to the sky, picturesque view of nature. In order to reach the maximum result a synthesis of mentioned methods is recommended.</p
