    Abstrak Pembelajaran geografi mempelajari tentang keadaan bentang alam di permukaan bumi. Pembelajaran geografi di MAN 1 Mojokerto menggunakan lembar kerja siswa , terkadang juga menampilkan power point sehingga dapat mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa pada materi geografi kondisi fisik di permukaan bumi. Guru memerlukan media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan keaktifan siswa di dalam kelas, salah satunya yaitu media Index Card Match. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) kelayakan media yang digunakan pada materi mitigasi bencana alam, (2) pengaruh penggunaan media terhadap minat dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri tahapan analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation. Media diuji validasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media. Analisis deskripsi hasil belajar menggunakan ketuntasan klasikal dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas XI IPS 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPS 3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) kelayakan media berdasarkan ahli media dalam segi kelayakan penyajian mendapat skor 96% termasuk kategori sangat layak dan dalam segi kelayakan penggunaan bahasa mendapat skor 96% yang berarti sangat layak. (2) Hasil belajar siswa mengalami kenaikan dengan nilai minimal 75, dimana nilai pretest kelas eksperimen sebesar 59,47% menjadi 83,15% dan nilai posttest ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 92,10%. Sedangkan pada kelas kontrol mengalami sedikit kenaikan dengan nilai pretest sebesar 57,05% menjadi 74,74% dan pada nilai posttest dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 76,92%. Berdasarkan angket minat siswa mendapat skor 285 dengan persentase 75% menunjukkan bahwa siswa minat akan penggunaan media pembelajaran dalam hal menggunakan media Index Card Match sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran yang efektif untuk melatihkan kemampuan penalaran proporsional siswa. Model pembelajaran yang cocok adalah Model Matematika Knisley. Karena sintak pada Model Matematika Knisley mendukung siswa untuk melatih kemampuan penalaran proporsionalnya. Perangkat yang dikembangkan untuk Model Matematika Knisley adalah RPP dan LKS. Perangkat tersebut dikembangkan dengan model pengembangan IDI (Instructional Development Institute). Evaluasi perangkat yang dikembangkan meliputi kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang dilakukan peneliti adalah teknik pengumpulan data dan Instrumen Penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik validasi, teknik angket, teknik observasi, dan tes uji kompetensi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi, lembar observasi, lembar angket dan lembar tes. Subjek penelitian adalah 37 siswa kelas VII D SMP Negeri 35 Surabaya. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria valid dan praktis dengan catatan dapat digunakan dengan sedikit revisi. Pembelajaran memenuhi kriteria efektif dikarenakan rata-rata persentase respon siswa sebesar 89% merespon dalam kategori positif (senang, berminat, dan tertarik), keterlaksanaan sintaks pembelajaran memenuhi kriteria terlaksana dengan sangat baik dikarenakan rata-rata keterlaksanaan sintaksnya 97,5%, dan ketuntasan belajar siswa sebesar 81% secara klasikal sehingga masuk dalam kategori tuntas. Sebanyak 2 siswa (5,4%) masuk kategori level 2 (Aditif), sebanyak 5 siswa (13,6%) masuk dalam kategori level 3 (Pra Multiplikatif), sebanyak 19 siswa (51,3%) masuk dalam kategori level 4 (Multiplikatif Implisit) dan sebanyak 11 siswa (29,7%) masuk dalam kategori level 5 (Multiplikatif)

    Character education is value education, moral education, character education which aims to develop the ability of students to give good results, nurture goodness, realize and spread prosperity in daily life with all my heart. Character education in Madrasah Hasyim Asy'ari Sukodono Sidoarjo instilled through learning Islamic religious education. Islamic religious education learning in this madrasa can encourage through classroom learning activities (intracuricular), co-curricular, and some extracurricular activities. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods of data collection through observation, interviews, and registration related to the planning, implementation and evaluation of character education in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Hasyim Asy'ari Sukodono Sidoarjo which will be juxtaposed with research and ideas of experts. The conclusion of this research is the character education planning at Madrasah Hasyim Asy'ari Sukododno Sidoarjo which discusses the routine meeting at the beginning of the year which discusses character education in Intractive, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. In planning character education spurred on the madrasa vision, mission and goals.     A Comparisson of Synchronous and Nonsynchronous Boost Converter

    Modern electronic systems require resources with high efficiency. The efficiency of direct current to dicrect current converters as a power source can be increased by replacing a diode with MOSFET. The use of MOSFET is expected to reduce power loss as the internal resistance of MOSFET is lower than a diode. To implement the propossed idea, a boost type direct current chopper and TL494 as PWM generator circuit were applied in this work. MOSFET is used in synchronization mode to replace diode at conventional topology of chopper.. The proposed circuit and conventional topology were made and their performance were observed. The efficiency of both circuit were compared and analyzed. The result of the experiments showed that the efficiency of converter within MOSFET at synchronization mode is proportional with the increment of duty cycle, while at conventional topology the efficiency remain stable at any duty cycle. Synchronous boost converter is more efficient than nonsynchronous boost converter at duty cycle over than 40%

    SPARCLE: an instrument for aerosol size and refractive index measurement

    In the last few decades, there is an increasing need to improve in situ aerosol measurements. The improved measurements can provide a better understanding of the role of atmospheric aerosol on the Earth climate change. The improved measurement can also help to indicate the quality of ambient air to prevent health problems caused by aerosol exposure. Most in situ optically based aerosol photometer assume the refractive in- dex of measured particles to give size-estimate. This type of instrument can have a bias when measuring a particle whose refractive index is differ- ent from the assumed value. SPARCLE was designed with two measure- ment goals. First, SPARCLE measures both the size and refractive index of a particle provided that the particle is a homogeneous sphere. Second, SPARCLE is able to measure particles whose sizes range from 500 nm to 2,500 nm. This size range is within the range of the accumulation mode of tropospheric size distribution. The purpose of this work is to investigate the feasibility of SPARCLE. A threshold level to detect particles was applied to differentiate between background and scattering signals and it was found that applying the threshold level can limit SPARCLE to detect particles smaller than 640 nm. SPARCLE was calibrated using four monodisperse aerosols containing Polystyrene latex (PSL) beads. The mean size of the aerosols are 1,100 nm, 1,800 nm, 2,000 nm and 3,000 nm. The refractive index of PSL is 1.59. The results indicate that SPARCLE can measure the aerosols with the deviation of the measured size and refractive index less than 2.2% and 1.05%, respectively, of the size and refractive index specified by the aerosol manufacturers. SPARCLE was used to measure a test aerosol. The test aerosol was a mixture of water and liquid soap. The refractive index of the liquid soap is 1.37. One of the main ingredient of the liquid soap is sodium dodecyl sulphate whose the refractive index is 1.44. The refractive index of the test aerosol measured by SPARCLE is 1.47. This value is close to the refractive index of the sulphate suggesting that the test aerosol was quickly dried and, then, a solid aerosol was formed which mainly composed of the sulphate

    This study aims to elaborate on how voiceless fricative palato-alveolar [ʃ], voiced fricative palato-alveolar [ʒ], voiceless affricate palato alveolar [tʃ], and voiced affricate palato-alveolar [dʒ] in the initial, medial, and final positions were articulated by Mrs. Retno Marsudi. This study used descriptive qualitative approach. The data were collected through observation of 16 YouTube videos of speech in English by Mrs. Retno Marsudi as Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs. The data were analysed by comparing the sounds articulated by Mrs. Retno Marsudi and sounds articulated in RP & GA. This study's result shows that Mrs. Retno Marsudi generally produces palato�alveolar sounds in initial, medial, and final positions. However, there was occasion on which she changed the articulation [ʃ] to [s] in initial and final positions; the articulation of [tʃ] to [t] and [ʃ] in medial position; the articulation [dʒ] to [s] and [g] in medial position.     Markers of Renal Complications in Beta Thalassemia Patients with Iron Overload Receiving Chelation Agent Therapy: A Systematic Review

    Objective: The emerging renal complications in beta-thalassemia patients have raised the global exchange of views. Despite better survival due to blood transfusion and iron chelation therapy, the previously unrecognized renal complication remain a burden of disease affecting this population —the primary concern on how iron overload and chelation therapy correlated with renal impairment is still controversial. Early detection and diagnosis is crucial in preventing further kidney damage. Therefore, a systematic review was performed to identify markers of kidney complications in beta thalassemia patients with iron overload receiving chelation therapy. Methods: Searches of PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct, and Web of Science were conducted according to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) to identify studies of literature reporting renal outcome in β-TM patients with iron overload and receiving chelation therapy. The eligible 17 studies were obtained. Results: uNGAL/NGAL, uNAG/NAG, uKIM-1 are markers that can be used as predictor of renal tubular damage in early renal complications, while Cystatin C and uβ2MG showed further damage at the glomerular level. Discussion and Conclusion: The renal complication in beta-thalassemia patients with iron overload receiving chelating agent therapy may progress to kidney disease. Early detection using accurate biological markers is a substantial issue that deserves further evaluation to determine prevention and management. © The Authors
