    Penanaman nilai karakter pada anak usia dini dimaksudkan untuk mengembangkan pola pikir dan kemampuan pada diri anak. Pola pikir ini berkaitan dengan segala bentuk yang bermanfaat bagi dirinya, orang lain dan peduli akan lingkungan sekitar. Pengamatan dilapangan kami menemukan bahwasannya di desa Ngroto Kecamatan Pujon Kabupaten Malang memiliki masyarakat kami berinisiatif untuk memberikan bentuk pengajaran yang bersifat kreatifitas dan edukasi pemanfaatan bahan sampah terutama sampah plastik yang digunakan sebagai bahan karya. Jiwa akan cinta seni pada anak diharapkan akan mempengaruhi jiwa cinta dan peduli akan lingkungan sehat. Nilai-nilai karakter yang dapat tertanam melalui kegiatan penanaman yakni sikap kerja keras, kerja sama, tanggung jawab, saling menghargai, menyayangi ciptaan Tuhan, peduli, percaya diri dan disiplin dapat terealisasikan dengan kegiatan saling berbagi tugas dalam memilih pot, mengambil bibit cabai, memasukkan tanah dan pupuk ke dalam pot, merapikan tanamannya dengan indah, membersihkan tanah-tanah yang berjatuhan di antara pot serta menyiraminya. Siswa-siswi yang awalnya belum berani untuk bekerja sama, mereka semakin bisa bekerja sama dengan baik diluar kegiatan ini. Kegiatan ini juga membuat mereka semakin mencintai lingkungan sekitarnya, hal ini dibuktikan dengan keantusiasannya dalam mengikuti kegiatan menanam

    Genetic evidence that higher central adiposity causes gastro-oesophageal reflux disease: a Mendelian-randomization study

    Background: Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) is associated with multiple risk factors but determining causality is difficult. We used a genetic approach [Mendelian randomization (MR)] to identify potential causal modifiable risk factors for GORD. Methods: We used data from 451 097 European participants in the UK Biobank and defined GORD using hospital-defined ICD10 and OPCS4 codes and self-report data (N = 41 024 GORD cases). We tested observational and MR-based associations between GORD and four adiposity measures [body mass index (BMI), waist-hip ratio (WHR), a metabolically favourable higher body-fat percentage and waist circumference], smoking status, smoking frequency and caffeine consumption. Results: Observationally, all adiposity measures were associated with higher odds of GORD. Ever and current smoking were associated with higher odds of GORD. Coffee consumption was associated with lower odds of GORD but, among coffee drinkers, more caffeinated-coffee consumption was associated with higher odds of GORD. Using MR, we provide strong evidence that higher WHR and higher WHR adjusted for BMI lead to GORD. There was weak evidence that higher BMI, body-fat percentage, coffee drinking or smoking caused GORD, but only the observational effects for BMI and body-fat percentage could be excluded. This MR estimated effect for WHR equates to a 1.23-fold higher odds of GORD per 5-cm increase in waist circumference. Conclusions: These results provide strong evidence that a higher waist-hip ratio leads to GORD. Our study suggests that central fat distribution is crucial in causing GORD rather than overall weight.This article is freely available via Open Access.     Minimal Supersymmetric Inverse Seesaw: Neutrino masses, lepton flavour violation and LHC phenomenology

    We study neutrino masses in the framework of the supersymmetric inverse seesaw model. Different from the non-supersymmetric version a minimal realization with just one pair of singlets is sufficient to explain all neutrino data. We compute the neutrino mass matrix up to 1-loop order and show how neutrino data can be described in terms of the model parameters. We then calculate rates for lepton flavour violating (LFV) processes, such as μeγ\mu \to e \gamma, and chargino decays to singlet scalar neutrinos. The latter decays are potentially observable at the LHC and show a characteristic decay pattern dictated by the same parameters which generate the observed large neutrino angles.Comment: 26 pages, 4 figures; added explanatory comments, final version for publicatio

    Aphrodisiac activity of 50% ethanolic extracts of Myristica fragrans Houtt. (nutmeg) and Syzygium aromaticum (L) Merr. & Perry. (clove) in male mice: a comparative study

    BACKGROUND: Spices are considered as sexual invigorators in the Unani System of Medicine. In order to explore the sexual function improving effect of Myristica fragrans Houtt. (nutmeg) and Syzygium aromaticum (L) Merr. & Perry. (clove) an experimental study was conducted in normal male mice. METHODS: The extracts (50% ethanolic) of nutmeg and clove were administered (500 mg/kg; p.o.) to different groups of male Swiss mice. Mounting behaviour, mating performance, and general short term toxicity of the test drugs were determined and compared with the standard drug Penegra (Sildenafil citrate). RESULTS: The extracts of the nutmeg and clove were found to stimulate the mounting behaviour of male mice, and also to significantly increase their mating performance. The drugs were devoid of any conspicuous general short term toxicity. CONCLUSION: The extracts (50% ethanolic) of nutmeg and clove enhanced the sexual behaviour of male mice

    LHC and lepton flavour violation phenomenology of a left-right extension of the MSSM

    We study the phenomenology of a supersymmetric left-right model, assuming minimal supergravity boundary conditions. Both left-right and (B-L) symmetries are broken at an energy scale close to, but significantly below the GUT scale. Neutrino data is explained via a seesaw mechanism. We calculate the RGEs for superpotential and soft parameters complete at 2-loop order. At low energies lepton flavour violation (LFV) and small, but potentially measurable mass splittings in the charged scalar lepton sector appear, due to the RGE running. Different from the supersymmetric 'pure seesaw' models, both, LFV and slepton mass splittings, occur not only in the left- but also in the right slepton sector. Especially, ratios of LFV slepton decays, such as Br(τ~Rμχ10{\tilde\tau}_R \to \mu \chi^0_1)/Br(τ~Lμχ10{\tilde\tau}_L \to \mu \chi^0_1) are sensitive to the ratio of (B-L) and left-right symmetry breaking scales. Also the model predicts a polarization asymmetry of the outgoing positrons in the decay μ+e+γ\mu^+ \to e^+ \gamma, A ~ [0,1], which differs from the pure seesaw 'prediction' A=1$. Observation of any of these signals allows to distinguish this model from any of the three standard, pure (mSugra) seesaw setups.Comment: 43 pages, 17 figure

    Transplantation of Kidneys from Donors with Acute Renal Failure Five-Year Results from Double Center Experience

    Background: Transplantation of kidneys from deceased donors with acute renal failure (ARF) has been described and represents an underutilized source of renal grafts. We reviewed retrospectively our double center experience with transplantation of ARF donor kidneys. Methods: Between January 2009 and June 2014, we performed a total of 397 kidney transplants at the two hospitals. Of which, 65 came from donors with ARF. The outcome was compared with 62 expanded criteria donor kidneys and 270 standard criteria donor kidneys. ARF was defined as donor terminal creatinine higher than 2. All kidneys from ARF donors had acceptable biopsies and were pumped. The immunosuppression was similar in all three groups (Thymoglobulin for induction and Prograf, Cellcept and steroids for maintenance). The outcome measurements included recipient serum creatinine, patient and graft survival at 6 months, 1 year and 3 years. We also reviewed the delayed graft function (DGF) rates and cold ischemic time in all groups. Results: Mean donor creatinine was 3.84±1.3. The 6 month, 1 and 3 year patient survival rates were 98.5%, 96.8% and 92.0% in ARF group, 98.1%, 97.0% and 93.4% SCD group and 98.4%, 93.2% and 77.7% in ECD group. The 6 month, 1 and 3 year death censored graft survival was 96.9%, 96.9%, 96.9% in ARF group, 97.7, 96.5, 91.8 in SCD group and 95.1%, 93.2%, 90.1% in ECD group. The mean 6mo, 1 year and 3 year recipient creatinine was 1.49, 1.46 and 1.51 in ARF group, 1.61, 1.72 and 1.77 in SCD group and 1.91, 1.92 and 2.15 in ECD group, respectively. ARF kidneys are noted to be associated with more DGF (58.5% in ARF group VS 41.5% in non ARF group), longer cold ischemic time (857.79 min in ARF group vs 589.32 min in non ARF group) and younger donor age (32.25 years in ARF group vs 40.65 years in non ARF group). Conclusion: Elevated terminal donor creatinine is not a risk factor for graft loss after deceased donor kidney transplantation. Although there is increased risk of DGF and longer cold ischemic time, transplantation of ARF kidneys provides comparable short and long term graft function and patient survival compared to kidneys from non ARF donors

    An experimental study of sexual function improving effect of Myristica fragrans Houtt. (nutmeg)

    BACKGROUND: Myristica fragrans Houtt. (nutmeg) has been mentioned in Unani medicine to be of value in the management of male sexual disorders. The present study was undertaken to evaluate the aphrodisiac effect of 50% ethanolic extract of nutmeg along with its likely adverse effects and acute toxicity using various animal models. METHODS: The suspension of the extract was administered (100, 250 and 500 mg/kg, p.o.) to different groups of male rats daily for seven days. The female rats involved in mating were made receptive by hormonal treatment. The general mating behaviour, libido and potency were studied and compared with the standard reference drug sildenafil citrate. Likely adverse effects and acute toxicity of the extract were also evaluated. RESULTS: Oral administration of the extract at the dose of 500 mg/kg, produced significant augmentation of sexual activity in male rats. It significantly increased the Mounting Frequency, Intromission Frequency, Intromission Latency and caused significant reduction in the Mounting Latency and Post Ejaculatory Interval. It also significantly increased Mounting Frequency with penile anaesthetisation as well as Erections, Quick Flips, Long Flips and the aggregate of penile reflexes with penile stimulation. The extract was also observed to be devoid of any adverse effects and acute toxicity. CONCLUSION: The resultant significant and sustained increase in the sexual activity of normal male rats without any conspicuous adverse effects indicates that the 50% ethanolic extract of nutmeg possesses aphrodisiac activity, increasing both libido and potency, which might be attributed to its nervous stimulating property. The present study thus provides a scientific rationale for the traditional use of nutmeg in the management of male sexual disorders

    Supersymmetric mass spectra and the seesaw type-I scale

    We calculate supersymmetric mass spectra with cMSSM boundary conditions and a type-I seesaw mechanism added to explain current neutrino data. Using published, estimated errors on SUSY mass observables for a combined LHC+ILC analysis, we perform a theoretical χ2\chi^2 analysis to identify parameter regions where pure cMSSM and cMSSM plus seesaw type-I might be distinguishable with LHC+ILC data. The most important observables are determined to be the (left) smuon and selectron masses and the splitting between them, respectively. Splitting in the (left) smuon and selectrons is tiny in most of cMSSM parameter space, but can be quite sizeable for large values of the seesaw scale, mSSm_{SS}. Thus, for very roughly mSS1014m_{SS} \ge 10^{14} GeV hints for type-I seesaw might appear in SUSY mass measurements. Since our numerical results depend sensitively on forecasted error bars, we discuss in some detail the accuracies, which need to be achieved, before a realistic analysis searching for signs of type-I seesaw in SUSY spectra can be carried out.Comment: 17 pages, 7 figure
