Agroecologia para Escola Guarany Karaí Kuerí Renda

A presente pesquisa relaciona ou problemas socioambientais na aldeia Sapucaí, através da escola indígena Karaí Kuery Renda tomando em considerações as construções etnoagroecológicas. Aplicou-se como metodologia observação de campo, registros com fotos e desenhos elaborados por crianças. Como objetivos empíricos de longo alcance, visou-se a integração das famílias dos estudantes na comunidade escolar. A prática realizada na escola registrou a concepção dos alunos sobre sua aldeia, visando fundamentar construções de documentos pedagógicos com sentido agroecológico. A partir deste trabalho podem ser formados multiplicadores agroecológicos, de forma a favorecer o desenvolvimento cultural, político, econômico e ambiental. O levantamento de práticas já existentes pela comunidade, somado ás novas propostas criadas no que condiz a agroecologia, pode vir a ser importante para aliar a proposta de junção do conhecimento tradicional da comunidade referida, com projetos pedagógicos e ambientais.Eje A5: Sistemas de conocimientoFacultad de Ciencias Agrarias y Forestale

Uso da análise faunística de insetos na avaliação do impacto ambiental

Com o objetivo de avaliar o impacto ambiental ocorrido na área experimental do Departamento de Entomologia - ESALQ/USP, num período de 25 anos, aplicou-se a análise faunística aos resultados da coleta de insetos, com armadilha luminosa, em 1965/66 e 1990/91. Comparando-se os índices fisiográficos das épocas estudadas, verifica-se uma redução de 35,1% entre 1965/66 e 1990/91. Como conseqüência, o índice de diversidade também diminuiu em 60,3% nas datas estudadas, em decorrência da menor coleta de insetos, caracterizando considerável impacto ambiental.Environmental changes at the experimental area of the Department of Entomology, University of São Paulo, in Piracicaba, in a period of 25 years, were evaluated using a faunistc insect analysis of samples collected by light traps in 1965/66 and 1990/91. A reduction of 35.1% in the faunistic index between these two periods was recorded. Consequently, the diversity index also decreased by 60.3% due to the low number of insects collected. These indices suggest a considerable environmental change in the experimental area over this 25 years period

Evaluation Of The Use Of Systemic Antimicrobial Agents By Professionals For The Treatment Of Periodontal Diseases

Aim: To investigate the indication of systemic antimicrobial agents used by dental professionals for treatment of patients affected by periodontal diseases. Methods: Interviews by a questionnaire were held with 225 professionals of different dental specialties and who performed periodontal treatment. Results: Among interviewees, 94% indicated systemic antibiotics as a form of periodontal disease treatment. Their main indication was for periodontal abscesses (80%) followed by aggressive periodontitis (62%) and necrotizing diseases (45%). The most frequently used antibiotics were amoxicillin (81%) and metronidazole (57%). The medications were indicated in association with mechanical therapy by 67% of the professionals. As regards the occasion of indication, 60% indicated systemic antibiotic therapy before and after mechanical periodontal scaling and root planing. Seventy-eight percent of the professionals indicated antibiotics associated with periodontal surgery for access to scaling, and 76% indicated it before and after the surgical procedure. Among the interviewees, 99% took into account systemic involvement for drug administration.
