    Big Data on Decision Making in Energetic Management of Copper Mining

    Indexado en: Web of Science; Scopus.It is proposed an analysis of the related variables with the energetic consumption in the process of concentrate of copper; specifically ball mills and SAG. The methodology considers the analysis of great volumes of data, which allows to identify the variables of interest (tonnage, temperature and power) to reach to an improvement plan in the energetic efficiency. The correct processing of the great volumen of data, previous imputation to the null data, not informed and out of range, coming from the milling process of copper, a decision support systems integrated, it allows to obtain clear and on line information for the decision making. As results it is establish that exist correlation between the energetic consumption of the Ball and SAG Mills, regarding the East, West temperature and winding. Nevertheless, it is not observed correlation between the energetic consumption of the Ball Mills and the SAG Mills, regarding to the tonnages of feed of SAG Mill. In consequence, From the experimental design, a similarity of behavior between two groups of different mills was determined in lines process. In addition, it was determined that there is a difference in energy consumption between the mills of the same group.     \Delta S=2 and \Delta C=2 bag parameters in the SM and beyond from Nf=2+1+1 twisted-mass LQCD

    We present unquenched lattice QCD results for the matrix elements of four-fermion operators relevant to the description of the neutral K and D mixing in the Standard Model and its extensions. We have employed simulations with Nf = 2 + 1 + 1 dynamical sea quarks at three values of the lattice spacings in the interval 0.06 - 0.09 fm and pseudoscalar meson masses in the range 210 - 450 MeV. Our results are extrapolated to the continuum limit and to the physical pion mass. Renormalization constants have been determined non-perturbatively in the RI-MOM scheme. In particular, for the Kaon bag-parameter, which is relevant for the \overline{K}^0-K^0 mixing in the Standard Model, we obtain B_K^{RGI} = 0.717(24).Comment: Added comments to error budget discussion; fig.19 corrected.     Momentum-driven outflow emission from an O-type YSO: Comparing the radio jet with the molecular outflow

    Aims: We want to study the physical properties of the ionized jet emission in the vicinity of an O-type young stellar object (YSO), and estimate how efficient is the transfer of energy and momentum from small- to large-scale outflows. Methods: We conducted Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) observations, at both 22 and 45 GHz, of the compact and faint radio continuum emission in the high-mass star-forming region G023.01-00.41, with an angular resolution between 0.3" and 0.1", and a thermal rms of the order of 10 uJy/beam. Results: We discovered a collimated thermal (bremsstrahlung) jet emission, with a radio luminosity (L_rad) of 24 mJy kpc^2 at 45 GHz, in the inner 1000 AU from an O-type YSO. The radio thermal jet has an opening angle of 44 degrees and brings a momentum rate of 8 10^-3 M_sun yr^-1 km/s. By combining the new data with previous observations of the molecular outflow and water maser shocks, we can trace the outflow emission from its driving source through the molecular clump, across more than two order of magnitude in length (500 AU-0.2 pc). We find that the momentum-transfer efficiency, between the inner jet emission and the extended outflow of entrained ambient gas, is near unity. This result suggests that the large-scale flow is swept-up by the mechanical force of the radio jet emission, which originates in the inner 1000 AU from the high-mass YSO.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures, 2 tables, accepted by Astronomy & Astrophysic

    Haffner 16: A Young Moving Group in the Making

    The photometric properties of main sequence (MS) and pre-main sequence (PMS) stars in the young cluster Haffner 16 are examined using images recorded with the Gemini South Adaptive Optics Imager (GSAOI) and corrected for atmospheric blurring by the Gemini Multi-Conjugate Adapative Optics System (GeMS). A rich population of PMS stars is identified, and comparisons with isochrones suggest an age < 10 Myr assuming a distance modulus of 13.5 (D = 5 kpc). When compared with the solar neighborhood, Haffner 16 is roughly a factor of two deficient in objects with sub-solar masses. PMS objects in the cluster are also more uniformly distributed on the sky than bright MS stars. It is suggested that Haffner 16 is dynamically evolved, and that it is shedding protostars with sub-solar masses. Young low mass clusters like Haffner 16 are one possible source of PMS stars in the field. The cluster will probably evolve on time scales of ~ 100 - 1000 Myr into a diffuse moving group with a mass function that is very different from that which prevailed early in its life.Comment: To appear in the Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacifi

    GeMs/GSAOI observations of La Serena 94: an old and far open cluster inside the solar circle

    Physical properties were derived for the candidate open cluster La Serena 94, recently unveiled by the VVV collaboration. Thanks to the exquisite angular resolution provided by GeMS/GSAOI, we could characterize this system in detail, for the first time, with deep photometry in JHKs_{s} - bands. Decontaminated JHKs_{s} diagrams reach about 5 mag below the cluster turnoff in H. The locus of red clump giants in the colour - colour diagram, together with an extinction law, was used to obtain an average extinction of AV=14.18±0.71A_V =14.18 \pm 0.71. The same stars were considered as standard - candles to derive the cluster distance, 8.5±1.08.5 \pm 1.0 kpc. Isochrones were matched to the cluster colour - magnitude diagrams to determine its age, logt(yr)=9.12±0.06\log{t(yr)}=9.12\pm 0.06, and metallicity, Z=0.02±0.01Z=0.02\pm0.01. A core radius of rc=0.51±0.04r_{c}=0.51\pm 0.04 pc was found by fitting King models to the radial density profile. By adding up the visible stellar mass to an extrapolated mass function, the cluster mass was estimated as M=(2.65±0.57)×103M=(2.65\pm0.57) \times 10^3 M_{\odot}, consistent with an integrated magnitude of MK=5.82±0.16M_{K}=-5.82\pm0.16 and a tidal radius of rt=17.2±2.1r_{t}=17.2\pm2.1 pc. The overall characteristics of La Serena 94 confirm that it is an old open cluster located in the Crux spiral arm towards the fourth Galactic quadrant and distant 7.30±0.497.30\pm 0.49 kpc from the Galactic centre. The cluster distorted structure, mass segregation and age indicate that it is a dynamically evolved stellar system.Comment: 16 pages, 24 figures, 2 Tables, accepted by MNRAS; corrected typo

    Star formation in low density HI gas around the Elliptical Galaxy NGC2865

    Interacting galaxies surrounded by HI tidal debris are ideal sites for the study of young clusters and tidal galaxy formation. The process that triggers star formation in the low-density environments outside galaxies is still an open question. New clusters and galaxies of tidal origin are expected to have high metallicities for their luminosities. Spectroscopy of such objects is, however, at the limit of what can be done with existing 8-10m class telescopes, which has prevented statistical studies of these objects. NGC2865 is an UV-bright merging elliptical galaxy with shells and extended HI tails. The regions observed in this work were previously detected using multi-slit imaging spectroscopy. We obtain new multislit spectroscopy of six young star-forming regions around NGC2865, to determine their redshifts and metallicities. The six emission-line regions are located 16-40 kpc from NGC2865 and they have similar redshifts. They have ages of ~10Myears and an average metallicity of 12+log(O/H) ~ 8.6, suggesting a tidal origin for the regions. It is noted that they coincide with an extended HI tail, which has projected density of NHI_{HI} < 1019^{19} cm2^{-2}, and displays a low surface brightness counterpart. These regions may represent the youngest of the three populations of star clusters already identified in NGC2865. The high, nearly-solar, oxygen abundances found for the six regions in the vicinity of NGC2865 suggest that they were formed by pre-enriched material from the parent galaxy, from gas removed during the last major merger. Given the mass and the location of the HII regions, we can speculate that these young star-forming regions are potential precursors of globular clusters that will be part of the halo of NGC2865 in the future. Our result supports the use of the multi-slit imaging spectroscopy as a useful tool for finding nearly-formed stellar systems around galaxies.Comment: 7 pages, 2 figures accepted in A&

    Level IV fugacity model by a continuous time control system.

    A continuos time dynamic control system of the "Level IV Fugacity Model" is presented and applied to selected organic chemicals in evaluative environments system. In order to illustrate the numerical solution by this model a discretization is used to calculate the fugacity, concentration and fugacity settling time for a set of three insecticides applied in a hypothetical three compartmental environmental system. The model employs the fugacity concept and treats three bulk compartments: air, water and bottom sediment. Input to the model consists of a description of the environmental, the physical-chemical and reaction properties of the chemical, and emission rates. Expressions in matrix form are included for emissions, advections, reactions, and inter-phase transference. An algorithm to determine the values of the fugacities, concentrations and fugacity settling time is given
