Study on Resource Configuration on Cloud Manufacturing

The purpose of manufacturing is to realize the requirement of customer. In manufacturing process of cloud system, there exist a lot of resource services which have similar functional characteristics to realize the requirement. It makes the manufacturing process more diverse. To develop the quality and reduce cost, a resource configuration model on cloud-manufacturing platform is put forward in this paper. According to the generalized six-point location principle, a growth design from the requirement of customers to entities with geometric constraints is proposed. By the requirement growing up to product, a configuration process is used to match the entities with the instances which the resources in the database could supply. Different from most existing studies, this paper studies the tolerance design with multiple candidate resource suppliers on cloud manufacturing to make the market play a two-level game considering the benefit of customers and the profit of resources to give an optimal result. A numerical case study is used to illustrate the proposed model and configuration process. The performance and advantage of the proposed method are discussed at the end

Theabrownin ameliorates liver inflammation, oxidative stress, and fibrosis in MCD diet-fed C57BL/6J mice

IntroductionNonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), also known as metabolic steatohepatitis, is a clinical syndrome with pathological changes like alcoholic hepatitis but without a history of excessive alcohol consumption. NASH is closely related to metabolic disorders such as obesity, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and hyperlipidemia. Its main characteristics are hepatocyte steatosis with hepatocyte injury and inflammation. In severe cases, it can develop into liver cirrhosis. At present, there is no special treatment for NASH. Theabrownin (TB) is the main pigment substance in fermented tea. Theabrownin has beneficial effects on lipid metabolism and intestinal flora. However, the effect of theabrownin on NASH has not been studied. MethodsThis study was aimed at exploring the effects of theabrownin from Fuzhuan brick tea on NASH. 8-week-old mice were randomly assigned to three groups and fed with chow diet (CD), methionine and choline sufficient (MCS) diet (MCS Ctrl), which is a Methionine/choline deficient (MCD) control diet, and MCD diet. After 5 weeks of feeding, the MCD group mice were randomly divided into two groups and were gavaged with double distilled water (MCD Ctrl) or theabrownin (MCD TB) (200mg/kg body weight, dissolved in double distilled water) every day for another 4 weeks respectively, while continuing MCD diet feeding.ResultsWe found that theabrownin treatment could not improve liver mass loss and steatosis. However, theabrownin ameliorated liver injury and decreased liver inflammatory response. Theabrownin also alleviated liver oxidative stress and fibrosis. Furthermore, our results showed that theabrownin increased hepatic level of fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) and reduced the phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinase p38 in MCD diet-fed mice

Genetic variation and marker−trait association affect the genomic selection prediction accuracy of soybean protein and oil content

IntroductionGenomic selection (GS) is a potential breeding approach for soybean improvement.MethodsIn this study, GS was performed on soybean protein and oil content using the Ridge Regression Best Linear Unbiased Predictor (RR-BLUP) based on 1,007 soybean accessions. The SoySNP50K SNP dataset of the accessions was obtained from the USDA-ARS, Beltsville, MD lab, and the protein and oil content of the accessions were obtained from GRIN.ResultsOur results showed that the prediction accuracy of oil content was higher than that of protein content. When the training population size was 100, the prediction accuracies for protein content and oil content were 0.60 and 0.79, respectively. The prediction accuracy increased with the size of the training population. Training populations with similar phenotype or with close genetic relationships to the prediction population exhibited better prediction accuracy. A greatest prediction accuracy for both protein and oil content was observed when approximately 3,000 markers with -log10(P) greater than 1 were included.DiscussionThis information will help improve GS efficiency and facilitate the application of GS

Scattering of harmonic P1 and SV waves by a shallow lined circular tunnel in a poroelastic half-plane

An analytical solution for the scattering of harmonic P1 and SV waves in a poroelastic half-plane with a shallow lined tunnel is obtained using the plane complex theory in elastodynamics. In light of the wave function expansions, the wave fields of the poroelastic medium and the liner with unknown coefficients are obtained based on Biot's theory and Helmholtz decomposition. Complex-valued expressions of the effective stresses, the fluid stress, and the displacements of the poroelastic medium and the liner are expressed by the complex variable function method and the conformal transformation technique. With the boundary conditions and the continuity of the medium-liner interface, the boundary value problem results in a series of algebraic equations. The unknown coefficients in the infinite set of algebraic equations can be solved numerically by truncating the series number. A parametric study for the incident SV waves is performed to investigate dynamic stress concentrations and fluid stress of the medium and the liner. Numerical results show that the embedment depth of the tunnel, the incident angle of the excitations, and the porosity of the medium have considerable influence on the dynamic responses of the medium and the liner. The shielding effect of the tunnel on the incident SV waves is obvious. For the big embedment depth of the tunnel, the scattered waves contribute little to the displacements and dynamic stress concentration of the medium and the liner. For a high porosity close to the critical value, the response of the medium-liner system to the incident waves is great.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository 'You share, we take care!' - Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Dynamics of Structure

Catalyst-Enabled Scaffold Diversity: Highly Chemo- and Stereoselective Synthesis of Tricyclic Ketals and Triarylmethanes

    No full text
The first catalytic cascade reaction of activated isocyanides with <i>para</i>-quinone methide-aryl esters is presented. Catalyst-enabled divergent pathways have also been achieved to deliver skeletally diverse products. While Ag catalysis leads to an unprecedented highly diastereoselective synthesis of tricyclic ketals, a simple procedure employing Cu catalysis produces oxazole-containing triarylmethanes in high efficiency through an unexpected C–C bond cleavage
