Motivational theories applied to assess EI programs: the EMOCARE’s Systematic Evaluation Model
Financial resources invested in treatment programs in Hospitals are limited; programs that work with the mental illness caregivers are not an exception. To prioritize those who will be included in programs is by establishing factors criteria: cognitive level, urgency, motivation to participate, intention to change and commitment to change. This chapter explores the adequacy of the EMOCARE’s Systematic Evaluation Model as a protocol to ensure that EMOCARE improves caregivers’ well-being as part of their education in Emotional Intelligence. The methodology follows a quasi-experimental pre-post design with two groups, one of them is a quasi-control group carried out during April to May of 2014. Sample size is 15 patients from the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital (Barcelona, Spain)-, 10 of them part of the experimental group (EG) -they attended the EMOCARE program for two months-. Results are discussed along with the theoretical framework, remarking EMOCARE’s Systematic Evaluation Model is adequate to assess the efficacy and effectiveness of the program; as well as EMOCARE improves caregivers’ well-being in terms of their satisfaction with life (Diener, Emmons, Larsen, & Griffin, 1985)
Contributions to the knowledge of floating or rooted submerged aquatic vegetation of the province of Jaén (S Spain). A study of the aquatic vegetation of the province of Jaén (southeastern Spain) has been carried out. Four vegetation classes, four orders, eight alliances and 15 phytocoenoses have been identified and localized. A formal model for Explicit Knowledge as Awareness-of plus Awareness-that
In the context of the problem of logical omniscience, several frameworks have been proposed to model the knowledge of 'real' agents with limited reasoning abilities. One of the most important, awareness logic, relies on the concept of awareness for distinguishing what the agent 'truly' knows from what she could get if she were aware of all formulas. Still, the notion of awareness can be interpreted in different ways: it can be understood as what the agent simply entertains, without having any attitude in favour or against (awareness of ), but also as what she has consciously recognised as true (awareness that). This paper proposes a formal framework that captures these two interpretations of the notion of awareness, discussing the further epistemic notions that arise from their combination (e.g., implicit knowledge and explicit knowledge) while also studying their properties and the way they interact with one another
Thermodynamic functions within the van Hove BCS model: Symmetry mixing effects
All the new layer perovskite superconductors seem to show a phenomenon of
symmetry mixing with repect to the order parameter. An analysis of the
different alternative of mixing and how far could them be presented is carried
out. For the particular case of s+id symmetry of the gap, the temperature
dependence of the specific heat () and the thermodynamic critical
magnetic field () are calculated. A double peak transition is observed
on in the mixed regime while the single peak behavior is recovered
for a purely symmetric state (s or d). presents a quadratic law at low
tempeartures for a d-wave gap and for the s-wave one the typical exponential
attenuation. The temperature dependence of shows a clear phase
transition of second order at temperatures where the d-wave component becomes
negligible. A comparison with other results and experiments is done.Comment: Revised version and accepted to be published in Physica
Density operator of a system pumped with polaritons: A Jaynes-Cummings like approach
We investigate the effects of considering two different incoherent pumpings
over a microcavity-quantum dot system modelled using the Jaynes-Cummings
Hamiltonian. When the system is incoherently pumped with polaritons it is able
to sustain a large number of photons inside the cavity with Poisson-like
statistics in the stationary limit, and also leads to a separable
exciton-photon state. We also investigate the effects of both types of pumpings
(Excitonic and Polaritonic) in the emission spectrum of the cavity. We show
that the polaritonic pumping as considered here is unable to modify the
dynamical regimes of the system as the excitonics pumping does. Finally, we
obtain a closed form expression for the negativity of the density matrices that
the quantum master equation considered here generates.Comment: 16 pages, 4 figure
A new generation of real-time simulation techniques
This work presents a novel methodology for the development of real-time simulation techniques. They are focused on the PGD method, which allows the solution of complex problems by pre-calculating all the possible results. Subsequently, applications efficiently process these data to show particular results on demand
