Terutama pendidikan bagi perempuan khususnya ibu-ibu di Pekon Buiratu,  karena masalah yang ada sekarang perempuan hanya pantas didapur, sumur dan kasur, namun pendapat itu hanyalah ditinjau peran perempuan dalam kedudukan keluarga. Perempuan sangat dibutuhkan untuk mendidik anak-anaknya kelak. Karena perempuan kelak akan menjadi seorang ibu dan ibu merupakan madrasah utama bagi anak-anaknya. Dengan adanya pendidikan bagi wanita diharapkan dapat menghasilkan wanita-wanita yang cerdas, memiliki ilmu pengetahuan yang mumpuni dan sehat sehingga dapat memanfaatkan kemampuannya bagi keluarga, masyarakat dan bagi dirinya sendiri

    In Vitro Digestibility and Rumen Fermentation of Grass or Rice Straw Basal Diet With or Without Complete Rumen Modifier Supplementation

    An in vitro study was conducted to evaluate the supplementation of complete rumen modifier (CRM) to elephant grass or rice straw basal diet. CRM is feed additive consisting of a mixture of defaunator, methanogenesis inhibitor and bacterial growth factors. The diet was formulated in iso energetic and iso protein contained CP 16% and ME 2.3 MJ/kg. The diet was fermented for 48 hours under anaerobic condition at 39 °C. Experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design in 2×2 factorial arrangement using 2 levels of type of basal diet (Napier grass and rice straw) and 2 levels of CRM supplementation (0 and 2%). The parameters recorded were apparent digestibility of grass substrate, gas production, methane production and bacterial and protozoal counts. Total gas and methane produced during incubation was recorded at 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 24, 36 and 48 hours. Results from the study show that DM and OM digestibility, bacterial and protozoal population were significantly affected by the interaction between CRM supplementation and type of basal diet. CRM supplementation in rice straw basal diet increased DM and OM by 27% and 23,48% respectively, but it did not increase in grass basal diet. Bacterial population was increased by CRM supplementation in grass basal diet, in contrast, in rice straw basal diet, CRM supplementation decreased bacterial population. Whereas protozoal population was decreased both in grass and rice straw basal diet, the decreased was about 63.26% and 64% respectively for grass and rice straw basal diet. Methane production tended (P0.07) to decrease by CRM supplementation in rice straw basal diet. From this study, it can be concluded that CRM supplementation was able to improve the fermentability of rice straw basal diet and tended to decrease proportion of methane production.     Pertumbuhan Domba Hasil Persilangan dengan Manajemen Pemberian Pakan di Pedesaan

    Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi kemampuan adaptasi rumpun domba persilangan yang dibentuk di Balai Penelitian Ternak yaitu domba Komposit Sumatera, domba Komposit Garut, domba persilangan Barbados terhadap manajemen pakan pedesaan. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Juhut, Kabupaten Pandeglang selama 12 minggu. Penelitian menggunakan 24 ekor domba jantan persilangan dan 8 ekor domba lokal Garut sebagai pembanding. Bobot badan awal domba yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 24±5,87 kg. Tiap rumpun domba dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok perlakuan pakan yang terdiri dari perlakuan pakan kontrol (R) dan pakan perbaikan (SK). Pakan kontrol adalah pakan yang diberikan sesuai dengan kebiasaan yang dilakukan peternak di desa Juhut yaitu hanya diberi pakan rumput saja, sebanyak 5.000 g/ekor/hari. Pakan perbaikan adalah pakan rumput yang 20% nya diganti dengan singkong, kaliandra dan urea, urea diberikan 1% dari bahan kering singkong. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok pola faktorial 4x2, faktor pertama adalah 4 rumpun domba dan faktor kedua adalah perbedaan pakan perlakuan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam. Peubah yang dicatat adalah pertambahan bobot badan dan konsumsi pakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada pengaruh interaksi antara rumpun domba dengan perlakuan pakan terhadap konsumsi pakan maupun pertambahan bobot badan harian (PBBH). Demikian juga konsumsi pakan dan PBBH tidak dipengaruhi oleh rumpun domba ataupun perlakuan pakan. Rataan konsumsi pakan pada penelitian ini didapatkan 680 g/ekor/hari, sedangkan rataan PBBH adalah 13 g/ekor/hari. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pertumbuhan rumpun domba persilangan dengan sistem pemberian pakan di Desa Juhut adalah sama.     The objective of this research is to gain the representation about the efforts of fulfilling the needs for cacao’s family members at Banyumas, Pringsewu year 2012. The pressure points of this research are on number of children; quality of responsibility, large of the field, cacao production, income level, and minimum fulfillment needs level of cacao’s farmers. This research uses description methodology. The population was 181 patriarchs. The taken sample was 25% of 45% patriarchs. The researcher used three data collecting techniques; they were observation, questioner interview, and documentation. Qualitative percentage data analysis was in form of single table. The result of the research is shown that: (1) there are 88,67% cacao’s farmers who have more than three children, (2) there are 57,77% cacao’s farmers have responsibility for more than five persons,(3) there are 44,44% cacao’s farmers have middle large field (0,50-0,99 ha), (4) there are 88,88% which had been produced above 1000 kg/ha, (5) there are 86,67%  cacao’s farmers income got ≤Rp. 855.000, (6) there are 80% fulfillment needs which can be reache

    Cacao pod based ration supplemented with organic Zn: Growth responce on sheeps

    Cacao pod can be used as feed to replace grass. The aims of study was to evaluate the growth response of sheep fed on cacao pod based rations to replace grass and supplemented with organic Zn. Fresh cacao pod was chopped to the size of 1-2 cm. In untreated cacao pod (without ammoniation), chopped cacao pod was dried then milled, while in ammoniated cacao pod, the chopped cacao pod was mixed with urea, 1.5% (w/w) and kept in anaerobic conditions for 7 days. After 7 days it was dried and milled. Both, without ammoniated and ammoniated cacao pod were used for ration formulation. The rations were formulated in iso protein and iso energy (16% CP and 70% TDN). The study used 25 male lambs Sumatera Composite breed at age 7-8 months old with average body weight 18.8 ± 2.86 kg. Experiments were conducted using a randomized block design with number of animal in each group was 5. Five treatment rations evaluated were: R = grass + concentrate (positive control); K = cacao pod + concentrate; KZ = cacao pod + concentrate + organic Zn; KU = cacao pod ammoniated + concentrate; KUZ = cacao pod ammoniated + concentrate + organic Zn. The treatment rations were offered for 10 weeks. The results showed that the consumption of cacao pod based rations was higher (P 0.05) than the grass-basal ration (75.19 g/kg BW0,75 vs 70.22 g/kg BW0,75). Suplementation of Zn organic to ammoniated or untreated cacao pod resulted in no significant difference in DM, and CP intake. DM, OM, CP digestibility and N retention were relatively similar among the fifth rations from 53.13 to 63.91%, from 54.69 to 66.49%, from 66.0 to 79.28% and from 9.5 to 13.4 g/h respectively. R ration had similar NH3 levels with KU ration (21.57 mM vs 22.94 mM) but higher than the K, KZ and KUZ ration (16.45 mM, 16.62 mM and 13.61 mM). VFA concentration showed no difference among treatments (from 140.32 to 179.76 mM). Sheep fed ration R had similar ADG with K and KZ (92.19 g/h vs 83.13 g/h; 93.44 g/h) but higher than the ration KU and KZ (73.44 g/h and 61.72 g/h). From this study can be concluded that grass-based rations can be replaced by the cacao pod based rations supplemented with organic Zn and resulted in relatively similar ADG of 92.19 g/h vs 93.44 g/h.     Effect of processing on nutritive value of corn cobs: Chemical composition and in vitro digestibility

    One of the causes of in low productivity of ruminants in Indonesia is the lack of continual availability of high quality feed. Agriculture by-product such as corn cob is potential to be used as roughage for ruminants. However its nutrient quality is low; therefore, processing needs to be done to increase its nutrient quality.  The objective of the study was to obtain technology which able to increase the nutritive value of corn corb. Corn cobs were ground to obtain corn grain size and then treated with one of six treatments. These treatments were (1). Urea treatment at the level 3% of DM corn cob, (2). Fermentation using Trichoderma viridae; (3). Combination of fermentation using T. viridae and urea at the level 0.5% DM, (4). Fermentation using Aspergilus niger, (5). Fermentation using A. niger and urea at the level of 0.5% DM and (6). Ensiling of corn cob. All treated samples were dried in an oven then were ground for chemical analyses and in vitro digestibility. The study was done using randomised completely design and the data was analyzed using SAS programe v6.1. Result shows that untreated corn cob had low quality nutritive value which was indicated by its low protein content (2.9%) and low in vitro digestibility (42.5%). All treatments could increase corn cob’s protein contents; the highest increase was on urea treatment and fermentation of corn cob using A. niger supplemented with urea (210 and 172% respectively). The in vitro digestibility was only significantly increased by urea treatment where its digestibility was increased by 43%. On the other hand, fermentation using A. niger either with or without urea supplementation increased neutral detergent fibre digestibility by 300% and 200%. In conclusion, nutritive value of a corn cob can be improved by urea treatment at the level of 3% or by fermentation using A. niger. Key Words: Corn Cob, Silage, Ammoniation, Fermentatio

    Complete Rumen Modifier Supplementation in Corn Cob Silage Basal Diet of Lamb Reduces Methane Emission

    Feeding animal with fibrous materials such as corn cob will emit methane. Complete rumen modifier (CRM) is an improved feed additive comprised a mixture of Sapindus rarak, sesbania, albizia leaves and minerals that functions as a methane inhibitor. The study aimed to determine the effect of CRM supplementation on the feed intake, nutrient digestibility, rumen fermentation, methane emission and growth of lambs. The experiment was designed in a complete randomized block, four levels of CRM (0%, 1%, 2%, and 3%), six group of 24 male lambs per treatment based on the body weight. Basal diet used was corn cob silage ad libitum and concentrate (500 g/day) as a supplement. The results showed that CRM supplementation did not affect feed consumption and average daily gain, but significantly decreased the dry matter, as well as organic matter and protein digestibility. The neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and acid detergent fiber (ADF) digestibility linearly decreased with increasing level of CRM. Ruminal pH, ammonia concentration and volatile fatty acid (VFA) concentration were not affected by the CRM supplementation. Methane production expressed in kJ/MJ gross energy (GE) or digestible energy (DE) intake significantly decreased by 32% at the 2–3% CRM supplementation and reduced by 39% when methane production was expressed in g/kg digested NDF. It can be concluded that 2% CRM supplementation in the corn cob basal diet did not affect nutrient intake and growth rate of the lamb, as well as rumen fermentation.     Penggunaan internet di kalangan anak-anak saat ini sudah menjadi gaya hidup, bahkan banyak orangtua telah memberikan ponsel android kepada anak-anak mereka untuk melakukan komunikasi sehari-hari. Hal ini sangat mempengaruhi anak dalam pemanfaatan teknologi internet yang kurang sehat seperti mendapatkan data dan informasi melalui penjelajahan (browsing) internet tanpa adanya pemantauan orang tua sehingga anak-anak mudah mendapatkan kata-kata atau informasi yang tidak layak dikonsumsi oleh anak tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem pemantauan aplikasi mobile browser yang menerapkan metode pengendalian orang tua untuk internet yang sehat menggunakan SDLC (System Development Life Cycle). Hasil riset tersebut berupa konsep aplikasi pengawasan anak-anak yang dapat digunakan untuk memantau aktivitas browsing internet pada mobile child online pada platform android dengan notifikasi otomatis untuk mengirim pesan kepada orang tua saat anak sedang berusaha melakukan aktivitas browsing internet yang tidak sehat. This research aims to design a mobile browser application supervision system that applies parental control method for a healthy internet using SDLC (System Development Life Cycle). The result of the research is a concept of children supervision application that can be used to monitor the internet browsing activity on children’s android mobile phone with automatic notification which will send a message to parents when their children is trying to do some unhealthy internet browsing activity.
