Indication for the coexistence of closed orbit and quantum interferometer with the same cross section in the organic metal (ET)4(H3O)[Fe(C2O4)3].C6H4Cl2: Persistence of SdH oscillations above 30 K

Shubnikov-de Haas (SdH) and de Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) oscillations spectra of the quasi-two dimensional charge transfer salt β\beta"-(ET)4_4(H3_3O)[Fe(C2_2O4_4)3_3]\cdotC6_6H4_4Cl2_2 have been investigated in pulsed magnetic fields up to 54 T. The data reveal three basic frequencies Fa_a, Fb_b and Fba_{b - a}, which can be interpreted on the basis of three compensated closed orbits at low temperature. However a very weak thermal damping of the Fourier component Fb_b, with the highest amplitude, is evidenced for SdH spectra above about 6 K. As a result, magnetoresistance oscillations are observed at temperatures higher than 30 K. This feature, which is not observed for dHvA oscillations, is in line with quantum interference, pointing to a Fermi surface reconstruction in this compound.Comment: published in Eur. Phys. J. Methods of improving effectiveness of agrolandscape utilization in Zaporizhia oblast (Ukraine)

We examine the issues concerning the rational use of the potential of agrolandscapes in Zaporizhia oblast. Among the new promising techniques of improving effectiveness of their utilization, it is necessary to highlight an increase in the percentage of forest land on the territory concurrently with the introduction of soil-protection systems of crop farming. There is a need to pay more attention to melliferous plants in crop rotations and in the composition of field-protective afforestation in order to drive up earnings from apiculture as well as to promote rural (green) tourism in agrolandscapes which is becoming an increasingly popular kind of recreation. Furthermore, an enhancement in efficiency of agricultural nature management is aided by clearly defined and legislatively established responsibility of land users for non-purpose-oriented use of lands

It is known that for decrease in viscosity polymeric binding on the basis of epoxy oligomers in their composition injecting solvents of the different nature and thermodynamic compatibility. In this paper the dependences describing influence on shrinkage, kinetics of increase and maximum level of strains from diluents content and temperature of curing of epoxy oligomers are established. Introduction about 20 % of the active diluents (DEG-1 and SO-3) in system on the basis of epoxy oligomers leads to decrease in viscosity in ~3 times, to improvement of imbibition quality of fibrous fillers, increase of volume contraction (on ~2.5. %) and decrease in residual stresses in ~6 times as a result of increase of mobility of pieces of a polymeric chain in a three-dimensional grid, and also to decrease in glass transition temperature no more than ~20°C.

Poly(ADP-Ribose) Polymerase 1 (PARP-1) Regulates Ribosomal Biogenesis in Drosophila Nucleoli

    Get PDF
Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP1), a nuclear protein, utilizes NAD to synthesize poly(AD-Pribose) (pADPr), resulting in both automodification and the modification of acceptor proteins. Substantial amounts of PARP1 and pADPr (up to 50%) are localized to the nucleolus, a subnuclear organelle known as a region for ribosome biogenesis and maturation. At present, the functional significance of PARP1 protein inside the nucleolus remains unclear. Using PARP1 mutants, we investigated the function of PARP1, pADPr, and PARP1-interacting proteins in the maintenance of nucleolus structure and functions. Our analysis shows that disruption of PARP1 enzymatic activity caused nucleolar disintegration and aberrant localization of nucleolar-specific proteins. Additionally, PARP1 mutants have increased accumulation of rRNA intermediates and a decrease in ribosome levels. Together, our data suggests that PARP1 enzymatic activity is required for targeting nucleolar proteins to the proximity of precursor rRNA; hence, PARP1 controls precursor rRNA processing, post-transcriptional modification, and pre-ribosome assembly. Based on these findings, we propose a model that explains how PARP1 activity impacts nucleolar functions and, consequently, ribosomal biogenesis

PARP14 is a PARP with both ADP-ribosyl transferase and hydrolase activities

This is the final version. Available on open access from the American Association for the Advancement of Science via the DOI in this recordData availability: The MS proteomics data have been deposited to the ProteomeXchange Consortium via the PRIDE (92) partner repository with the dataset identifier PXD043452.PARP14 is a mono-ADP-ribosyl transferase involved in the control of immunity, transcription, and DNA replication stress management. However, little is known about the ADP-ribosylation activity of PARP14, including its substrate specificity or how PARP14-dependent ADP-ribosylation is reversed. We show that PARP14 is a dual-function enzyme with both ADP-ribosyl transferase and hydrolase activity acting on both protein and nucleic acid substrates. In particular, we show that the PARP14 macrodomain 1 is an active ADP-ribosyl hydrolase. We also demonstrate hydrolytic activity for the first macrodomain of PARP9. We reveal that expression of a PARP14 mutant with the inactivated macrodomain 1 results in a marked increase in mono(ADP-ribosyl)ation of proteins in human cells, including PARP14 itself and antiviral PARP13, and displays specific cellular phenotypes. Moreover, we demonstrate that the closely related hydrolytically active macrodomain of SARS2 Nsp3, Mac1, efficiently reverses PARP14 ADP-ribosylation in vitro and in cells, supporting the evolution of viral macrodomains to counteract PARP14-mediated antiviral response.Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC)Wellcome TrustOxford University Challenge Seed FundEdward Penley Abraham Research FundOvarian Cancer Research AllianceResearch Council of NorwaySwedish Research CouncilMedical Research Council (MRC)Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein ResearchDanish Council of Independent ResearchDanish Cancer Societ

Quantitative Proteomic Analysis of Human Embryonic Stem Cell Differentiation by 8-Plex iTRAQ Labelling

    Get PDF
Analysis of gene expression to define molecular mechanisms and pathways involved in human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) proliferation and differentiations has allowed for further deciphering of the self-renewal and pluripotency characteristics of hESC. Proteins associated with hESCs were discovered through isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantification (iTRAQ). Undifferentiated hESCs and hESCs in different stages of spontaneous differentiation by embryoid body (EB) formation were analyzed. Using the iTRAQ approach, we identified 156 differentially expressed proteins involved in cell proliferation, apoptosis, transcription, translation, mRNA processing, and protein synthesis. Proteins involved in nucleic acid binding, protein synthesis, and integrin signaling were downregulated during differentiation, whereas cytoskeleton proteins were upregulated. The present findings added insight to our understanding of the mechanisms involved in hESC proliferation and differentiation
