Simulated Annealing for Location Area Planning in Cellular networks

LA planning in cellular network is useful for minimizing location management cost in GSM network. In fact, size of LA can be optimized to create a balance between the LA update rate and expected paging rate within LA. To get optimal result for LA planning in cellular network simulated annealing algorithm is used. Simulated annealing give optimal results in acceptable run-time.Comment: 7 Pages, JGraph-Hoc Journa

Accessibility of promoter DNA is not the primary determinant of chromatin-mediated gene regulation

DNA accessibility is thought to be of major importance in regulating gene expression. We test this hypothesis using a restriction enzyme as a probe of chromatin structure and as a proxy for transcription factors. We measured the digestion rate and the fraction of accessible DNA at almost all genomic AluI sites in budding yeast and mouse liver nuclei. Hepatocyte DNA is more accessible than yeast DNA, consistent with longer linkers between nucleosomes, and suggesting that nucleosome spacing is a major determinant of accessibility. DNA accessibility varies from cell to cell, such that essentially no sites are accessible or inaccessible in every cell. AluI sites in inactive mouse promoters are accessible in some cells, implying that transcription factors could bind without activating the gene. Euchromatin and heterochromatin have very similar accessibilities, suggesting that transcription factors can penetrate heterochromatin. Thus, DNA accessibility is not likely to be the primary determinant of gene regulation.Fil: Chereji, Razvan V.. National Institutes of Health; Estados UnidosFil: Eriksson, Peter R.. Super-Resolution Technique for MRI Images Using Artificial Neural Network

    Get PDF
Image upscaling is an important field of digital image processing. It is often required to create higher resolution images from the lower resolution images at hand in computer graphics, media devices, satellite imagery etc. Upscaling is also referred to as ?single image super-resolution'. The process is a tradeoff between efficiency, time and the quality of output images obtained. Images with higher quality are needed and are essential in many areas like medical, astronomy, surveillance, satellite imaging etc. In medical imaging, images are obtained for medical investigative purposes and for providing information about the important diagnosis instrument to determine the presence of certain diseases. Many techniques like PET (Positron Emission Tomography), CT (Computed Tomography), MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) in the medical field are used for detecting diseases. Generally, medical images suffer from low resolution, High level of noise and blur type of factors. In the present paper, a feed forward neural network using supervised training for image upscaling is proposed. The performance of a neural network is compared to different training function & measure PSNR

Neuroendocrine tumor of the hepatic flexure: a rare colonic tumor

    Get PDF
Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are rare, particularly common in the rectum. NETs of the colon (not including the appendix and rectum) are most commonly found in the cecum, and hepatic flexure involvement is rather infrequent. The clinical presentation of colonic NETs is dependent on the primary site. Many are discovered either at the time of screening or during the investigation of abdominal pain or anemia. Here we present a challenging case of a hepatic flexure colonic NETS of 26 -year-old male treated by laparoscopic right hemicolectomy. Keywords: Neuroendocrine tumors; Colonoscopy; Surgery; Immunohistochemicaltes

Design of Lean to Roof Steel Trusses with Hollow Circular tube using IS 875 (part-III):2015 & IS 800:2007

At present, SP-38:1987 is available which provides design for lean to roof type trusses and pitch roof trusses. The design of lean to roof truss has been carried out as per IS 800:1984 IS 875 (Part-III):1964. Afterwards IS 800:1984 is revised in 2007, which is based on limit state method. Also, IS 875 (Part-III) is updated in 1987 and then in 2015 considering climate changes and economical parameters. Accordingly, study has been done to revise the design of trusses given in SP-38:1987. In the present study, design and comparison of lean to roof type truss with steel circular hollow tube section have been carried out using IS 875 (Part-III):2015 and IS 800:2007 limit state method using STAAD Pro. and their results compared with SP-38:1987 results. This study includes lean to roof truss system considering different parameters like span, spacing of truss, slope of roof and wind zones with all cases of wind load. At the end, a compiled report will be prepared, which will be helpful to design engineers to provide economic, easier, faster approach for designing of steel trusses

Prescribing quality improvement: reducing high-dose antipsychotic use

    Get PDF
Evidence of efficacy for high‐dose antipsychotic therapy (HDAT) and antipsychotic combinations (AC) is lacking, while evidence of harm is compelling. Significantly higher proportions of Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) patients were being prescribed HDAT and AC compared with the national averages. Here, the authors describe a quality improvement program to rationalise and reduce HDAT and AC prescribing in NSFT, to bring it in line with, or below, the national average. The initiative demonstrates that prescribing culture can be improved through a sustained multi‐professional team approach involving education and training, a targeted campaign, a proactive clinical pharmacy team and pharmacists' support
