La culture Dagara entre la colonisation et le christianisme: quelle "authenticité" aujourd’hui?

Au nombre de 500.000 environ les Dagara du Burkina Faso occupent une région relativement importante du sud-ouest du pays. Cette région se trouve encadrée entre le 9°48 et légèrement au-dessus de 11°14 de latitude nord et entre le 2°40 et le 3°12 de longitude ouest. La convention du 14 juin 1898 entre la France et la Grande-Bretagne les a séparés de leurs frères du Nord Ghana (ancienne Gold Coast) d'où ils ont émigré par vagues successives. Ces deux puissances "aux systèmes coloniaux sensiblement différents" ont fait irruption dans la culture et la philosophie de ce peuple de telle sorte qu'il n'est plus tellement possible de lire de façon linéaire et homogène leur histoire; on en vient alors à parler de Dagara du Burkina et de Dagara du Ghana. Et si l'on peut admettre toujours aujourd'hui que la partie ghanéenne de ce peuple conserve relativement encore "l'essentiel d'une certaine authenticité culturelle", l'on doit reconnaître que la partie burkinabé par contre a vu ce fonds culturel s'ébranler et se perturber si profondément que la question "quelle authenticité aujourd'hui?" revêt tout d'un désarroi. Parler d'authenticité d'aujourd'hui suppose une authenticité d'hier. Quelle était-elle et pourquoi et comment a-t-elle été si ébranlée

La lutte contre les schistosomoses en Afrique de l'Ouest

Les études menées au Burkina Faso sur les mollusques hôtes intermédiaires des schistosomoses ont montré que de nombreux biotopes sont favorables aux espèces susceptibles de transmettre les schistosomoses de l'homme et du bétail. Toutefois, chaque espèce possède sa propre niche écologique fortement liée aux conditions climatologiques. La distribution des bilharzioses est organisée en foyers. #Schistosoma haematobium est présent dans tout le pays, avec une plus forte prédominance au nord, notamment dans la zone sahélienne. #S. mansoni est davantage représenté dans le sud du pays où le climat est de type soudanien. IMPACT OF LOCAL VIBROSTIMULATION ON PARAMETERS OF LEG MUSCLES STRENGTH ENDURANCE

Vibration as a tool for massage and rehabilitation has been known for a long time. However, the vibration as a tool in sport workout is used very recently and is being used to increase strength, power, flexibility and coordination. It should also be noted that proper dosing of whole-body vibration plays a very important role in lymph drainage and in the treatment of overloaded joints. Improving and retaining physical fitness as well as repeating sets of exercises on one muscle group to spend as much energy resources in this muscle is important in fitness, in order to increase muscle mass and conditioning. Tonic effect of local vibrostimulation can warm up single muscle or muscle group, but also it can lead to excessive fatigue. So the aim of research is assessment of the effects of local vibrostimulation on the strength endurance for women in seated knee extension motion. Literature was analysed and an experiment was used to find out how strength endurance parameters change for 18-23 year old women after local vibration stimulation. A study was conducted with 20 women aged 18 to 23 years. For these women, control of single leg strength endurance was performed by seated leg extension movement, followed by local vibrostimulation of the quadriceps femoris muscle. This procedure was followed by a repeated strength endurance control. In this study, we found that the strength endurance parameters of the stimulated leg increased by an average of 5 repetitions during 30 seconds of control motion. We conclude that dosed local vibrostimulation sessions can increase strength endurance parameters locally for one muscle group

Multi-Level Kernel-Based QAM Symbol Error Probability Estimation

Kernel density estimators technique has been successfully applied to efficient Bit Error Rate (BER) computation issue under a diversity of simulation frameworks. However, as contemporary and emerging digital communication systems are increasingly provided with advanced transceivers, it is questionable if the Symbol Error Rate (SER) can be anyway derived from the BER. This paper investigates for a direct way to efficiently compute the SER. Focusing on the ubiquitous multi-level Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) transmission schemes, a Gaussian kernel-based estimator is designed. Simulation of the 4-QAM transmission scheme under various channel models shows that the proposed estimator can achieve efficient estimations with a very high degree of accuracy and reliability

PURIFICATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF L-ASPARAGINASE BY PSEUDONOCARDIA ENDOPHYTICA VUK-10 ISOLATED FROM NIZAMPATNAM MANGROVE ECOSYSTEM

Objective: L-asparaginase has been a promising therapeutic agent in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. In the present study a rare actino bacterial strain Pseudonocardia endophytica VUK-10 isolated from Nizampatnam mangrove ecosystem was explored for the production of L-asparaginase.Methods: The extracellular L-asparaginase enzyme was purified to homogeneity from the P. endophytica VUK-10 strain. The crude culture filtrate was subjected to different purification steps including ammonium sulphate fractionation followed by separation on Sephadex G-100 gel filtration and CM-Sephadex C-50 ion exchange chromatography to obtain a pure enzyme preparation.Results: The enzyme was purified 96 fold and showed a final specific activity of 702.04 IU/mg with a 61% yield. Sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) of the purified enzyme revealed its nature as single peptide chain with molecular weight of 120 kDa. This is the first report on production and purification of L-asparaginase from P. endophytica of mangrove origin.Conclusion: The extracellular L-asparaginase of the P. endophytica may be effectively used as potential chemotherapeutic agent.Keywords: Mangrove ecosystem, Pseudonocardia endophytica, L-asparaginase, Purification, SDS-PAG

Dynamique des populations de Bulinus truncatus rohlfsi Clessin, 1886, dans le barrage de Dyoro en zone nord soudanienne du Burkina Faso

Le suivi bi-hebdomadaire des effectifs de #Bulinus truncatus rohlfi et les mesures des paramètres physico-chimiques (pluviométrie, température, pH et conductivité) montrent que la dynamique des populations de cette espèce est dépendante de l'évolution de la température de l'eau. Cette donnée pourrait renforcer les méthodes de lutte contre ce mollusque hôte intermédiaire de #Schistosoma haematobium, parasite de la bilharziose urinaire au Burkina Faso

The article deals with the brief review and analysis of the modern Ukrainian and Russian historiography, works on V.V.Zenkovsky published during his lifetime, atheistic Soviet-era historiography; historiography of the Ukrainian diaspora; literature on social, political, historical and philosophical research of the events at the end of the XIX- the beginning of the XX centuries.У статті здійснено спробу узагальнити історіографічний матеріал, що стосується постаті Василя Васильовича Зеньковського.
