    Tectonic evolution and paleogeography of the Kırşehir Block and the Central Anatolian Ophiolites, Turkey

    In Central and Western Anatolia two continent-derived massifs simultaneously underthrusted an oceanic lithosphere in the Cretaceous and ended up with very contrasting metamorphic grades: high pressure, low temperature in the Tavsanli zone and the low pressure, high temperature in the Kirsehir Block. To assess why, we reconstruct the Cretaceous paleogeography and plate configuration of Central Anatolia using structural, metamorphic, and geochronological constraints and Africa-Europe plate reconstructions. We review and provide new Ar-40/Ar-39 and U/Pb ages from Central Anatolian metamorphic and magmatic rocks and ophiolites and show new paleomagnetic data on the paleo-ridge orientation in a Central Anatolian Ophiolite. Intraoceanic subduction that formed within the Neotethys around 100-90 Ma along connected N-S and E-W striking segments was followed by overriding oceanic plate extension. Already during suprasubduction zone ocean spreading, continental subduction started. We show that the complex geology of central and southern Turkey can at first order be explained by a foreland-propagating thrusting of upper crustal nappes derived from a downgoing, dominantly continental lithosphere: the Kirsehir Block and Tavsanli zone accreted around 85 Ma, the Afyon zone around 65 Ma, and Taurides accretion continued until after the middle Eocene. We find no argument for Late Cretaceous subduction initiation within a conceptual "Inner Tauride Ocean" between the Kirsehir Block and the Afyon zone as widely inferred. We propose that the major contrast in metamorphic grade between the Kirsehir Block and the Tavsanli zone primarily results from a major contrast in subduction obliquity and the associated burial rates, higher temperature being reached upon higher subduction obliquity.European Research Council ; Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO

    The geological-event reference system, a step towards geological data harmonization

    The temporal dimension is an inherent component of geology. In this regard, traditional geological maps can represent a few geological events, yet they hardly account for the entire complex rock history whether sedimentary, crystalline or volcanic. Here, using the RGF research program (French Geological Reference platform) we propose a new methodology based on digital technology and the French historical collection of 1:50 000-scale geological maps. This innovative approach consists of describing, organizing and hierarchizing a series of geological events within a reference framework and linking it to GIS map geometries (polygons, faults, points). In this way, the complete history of geological features can be compiled and stored in digital maps, combining distinct geological events and properties. For a single event, all associated transformations can be represented on maps, facilitating the production of real “palaeo-geological” maps that consider not only traditional sedimentary environments but also possible synchronous weathering, metamorphism, and volcanism. We discuss here an example of French orogenic history. The approach demonstrated here on geological maps can be used with other geological data media (boreholes, seismic reflection profiles, etc.) and thus facilitate a 3D-to-4D scale, with a significant ability to address not only academic community needs, but also themes or issues related to applications required by politics, civil engineering, and society itself, to confront challenges such as natural and anthropic risk reduction and subsurface uses

    Thermal evolution of an ancient subduction interface revealed by Lu–Hf garnet geochronology, Halilbagi Complex (Anatolia)

    The thermal structure of subduction zones exerts a major influence on deep-seated mechanical and chemical processes controlling arc magmatism, seismicity, and global element cycles. Accretionary complexes exposed inland may comprise tectonic blocks with contrasting pressure–temperature (P–T) histories, making it possible to investigate the dynamics and thermal evolution of former subduction interfaces. With this aim, we present new Lu–Hf geochronological results for mafic rocks of the Halilbagi Complex (Anatolia) that evolved along different thermal gradients. Samples include a lawsonite–epidote blueschist, a lawsonite–epidote eclogite, and an epidote eclogite (all with counter-clockwise P–T paths), a prograde lawsonite blueschist with a “hairpin”-type P–T path, and a garnet amphibolite from the overlying sub-ophiolitic metamorphic sole. Equilibrium phase diagrams suggest that the garnet amphibolite formed at ~0.6–0.7 GPa and 800–850 °C, whereas the prograde lawsonite blueschist records burial from 2.1 GPa and 420 °C to 2.6 GPa and 520 °C. Well-defined Lu–Hf isochrons were obtained for the epidote eclogite (92.38 ± 0.22 Ma) and the lawsonite–epidote blueschist (90.19 ± 0.54 Ma), suggesting rapid garnet growth. The lawsonite–epidote eclogite (87.30 ± 0.39 Ma) and the prograde lawsonite blueschist (ca. 86 Ma) are younger, whereas the garnet amphibolite (104.5 ± 3.5 Ma) is older. Our data reveal a consistent trend of progressively decreasing geothermal gradient from granulite-facies conditions at ~104 Ma to the epidote-eclogite facies around 92 Ma, and the lawsonite blueschist–facies between 90 and 86 Ma. Three Lu–Hf garnet dates (between 92 and 87 Ma) weighted toward the growth of post-peak rims (as indicated by Lu distribution in garnet) suggest that the HP/LT rocks were exhumed continuously and not episodically. We infer that HP/LT metamorphic rocks within the Halilbagi Complex were subjected to continuous return flow, with “warm” rocks being exhumed during the tectonic burial of “cold” ones. Our results, combined with regional geological constraints, allow us to speculate that subduction started at a transform fault near a mid-oceanic spreading centre. Following its formation, this ancient subduction interface evolved thermally over more than 15 Myr, most likely as a result of heat dissipation rather than crustal underplating

    V současné době, kterou je možno charakterizovat jako dobu globalizujících, unifikujících a nivelizujících hodnot se musejí organizace, v duchu going concern principu, umět měnit, transformovat a přizpůsobovat. Důvodem je to, aby byly výkonné, silné a především přeživší. Přeživší, ve smyslu fungování v budoucnosti, znamená adaptaci vlastních činností vzhledem k požadavkům turbulentního prostředí, a to s ohledem na nezbytnost růstu hodnoty v čase, což je jak smyslem samotného podnikání, tak také jediná možnost, jak může organizace předejít převzetí jinou osobou. Tato uvedená skutečnost vystihuje obsah předkládané disertační práce, která se zabývá vlivem působení strategické změny na stanovení hodnoty organizace, konktrétně pak na zjištění vlivu změny na hodnotu inverzního synergického efektu při stanovování hodnoty organizací. Hlavním cílem disertační práce je vytvoření a následné ověření funkčnosti modelu a systému oceňování synergií pro strategické rozhodovací procesy a strategické změny, který je dále doplněn třemi vedlejšími cíli. V rámci naplnění hlavního cíle je specifikována daná problematika, následně je vytvořen model, na který navazuje systém pro ověření. Pomocí tohoto systému je realizována verifikace modelu i systému samotného a jsou stanovovány hodnoty organizací, respektive hodnoty inverzního synergického efektu při oceňování, vycházející z reálných dat průmyslových podnikatelských subjektů. Výsledky přinášejí potvrzení funkčnosti modelu, který se tak může stát přínosným jak pro podnikatelský sektor, tak také pro aplikaci v rámci teoretické přípravy.In the current time, which can be characterized as the period of globalizing, unifying and equalizing values, organizations have to be able to change, transform and adapt in accordance with the “going concern” principle. The reason for the institution change is to stay effective, strong an surviving. Surviving one in the sense of its existence in the future which means adaptation of own activities related to the needs of the turbulent environment with the account on the necessity of the growth of the value in time which actually is the core of the entrepreneurship itself as well as the further possibility to avoid and prevent the organization from being overtaken by another person. The above mentioned issue seems to be the content of my dissertation which is focused on the influence of the strategic change on determining of the organization value, to be more detailed, on the finding out about the influence of a change on the value of the inverse synergic effect while determining the organizations’ value. The main aim of my work has been to create and verify the model and system for synergy evaluation suitable for strategic decision-making processes and strategic changes The main aim has been accompanied with further three side goals. To achieve the main aim of the work, the above mentioned issues have been discussed first. In addition to this, the appropriate model has been created being followed by the system for verification. The verification system has enabled us to verify both model and the system itself as well as to declare the organizations’ values. To be more specific, the inverse synergic effect values used while evaluating based on the real data of industrial business subjects are taken into account.
