    Diversidade e identidade organizacional : um estudo de caso da empresa Thoughtworks

    O presente trabalho aborda a temática diversidade e inclusão sobre a perspectiva da comunicação e identidade organizacional. O objetivo desse estudo, é analisar o espaço destinado à diversidade na identidade organizacional da empresa ThoughtWorks sobre a perspectiva da inclusão, presentes nos conteúdo do site institucional. Foram abordados os contextos do surgimento e luta dos grupos minorizados até sua presença nas organizações. Do ponto de vista metodológico, foi utilizado o método de estudo de caso a partir do qual se realizou a análise e interpretação dos dados que permitiram à autora compreender as necessidades de inclusão na organização, que orientaram as estratégias de diversidade e relacionamento além do papel da comunicação organizacional em efetivar essa construção, e que resultaram na presença da diversidade na identidade organizacional. Os resultados evidenciaram que para a efetividade das ações, a diversidade deve estar presente como valor organizacional, sendo o princípio norteador para aproximação e construção do relacionamento com os grupos minorizados e consequentemente a (re)construção da identidade organizacional a ponto de estar presente na atuação da organização.This paper addresses the theme of diversity and inclusion from the perspective of communication and organizational identity. The objective of this study, is to analyze the space for diversity (on the perspective of inclusion) in the organizational identity of the company ThoughtWorks. It was addressed the contexts of the emergence and the fight of minority groups until their presence in organizations. From the methodological point of view, it was used the case study method from which it was performed the analysis and interpretation of data that allowed the author to understand the needs for inclusion in the organization, which guided the strategies of diversity and relationship and the role of organizational communication in implementing this construction, and which resulted in the presence of diversity in organizational identity. The results showed that for the effectiveness of actions, diversity must be present as an organizational value, being the guiding principle for approaching and building the relationship with the minority groups and consequently the (re)construction of the organizational identity to the point of being present in the organization's performance

    Retention of E. coli and water on the skin after liquid contact

    The frequent contact people have with liquids containing pathogenic microorganisms provides opportunities for disease transmission. In this work, we quantified the transfer of bacteria-using E. coli as a model- from liquid to skin, estimated liquid retention on the skin after different contact activities (hand immersion, wet-cloth and wet-surface contact), and estimated liquid transfer following hand-to-mouth contacts. The results of our study show that the number of E. coli transferred to the skin per surface area (n [E. coli/cm2]) can be modeled using n = C (10-3.38+h), where C [E. coli/cm3] is the concentration of E. coli in the liquid, and h [cm] is the film thickness of the liquid retained on the skin. Findings from the E. coli transfer experiments reveal a significant difference between the transfer of E. coli from liquid to the skin and the previously reported transfer of viruses to the skin. Additionally, our results demonstrate that the time elapsed since the interaction significantly influences liquid retention, therefore modulating the risks associated with human interaction with contaminated liquids. The findings enhance our understanding of liquid-mediated disease transmission processes and provide quantitative estimates as inputs for microbial risk assessments

    Madalena Schwartz: um percurso migratório na fotografia brasileira

    The complex nature of migrations implies that the phenomenon is encompassed by the most varied possibilities of creation and reflection, among which the artistic perspective, and especially photography, assumes a propositional framework of analysis. In this article, we intend to address the issue by studying some episodes of the migratory journey of Madalena Schwartz (1921-1993), a Hungarian photographer who lived in Brazil since the 1960s, after living in Argentina in the 1930s. These two crossings (Budapest - Buenos Aires - São Paulo) are privileged here in order to investigate the arts, migrations and the gender dimension as markers present in Schwartz’s experience, privileging two central approaches. The first approach presents photographic moments of his trajectory - such as his participation in Foto Cine Clube Bandeirante, the creation of commissioned essays for magazines, an exhibition of portraits in museum identifications and an editorial reading of his production in catalogs and photobooks. The second approach extends Schwartz’s analysis to the trajectories of other immigrant photographers, such as Hildegard Rosenthal, Alice Brill, Maureen Bisilliat and Claudia Andujar, seeking to identify possible correlations between their transits and their performances in the cultural fi eld in Brazil. Both approaches seek to highlight Madalena Schwartz’s expressive potentials and photographic proposals between the 1960s and 1990s, a journey in which the gender dimension is a transversal category, to identify the processes of presence and performance of women in migratory flows and in artistic spheres
