This article reviews organizational discourseanalysis as a methodological perspective thatis linked to network and social capitalperspectives in the study of work organization.This article is a theoretical and methodologicalanalysis. The article addresses the question ofhow to use discourse analysis as a method tostudy organizational social capital empirically.The main question of my example study washow is the social capital that is needed indeveloping academic organization structured.The article argues that only low-levelcollaboration and knowledge sharing arepossible when developing academicorganizations. The example shows that anorganizational discourse analysis contributesboth to organizational social capital studies andgeneral organization studies by giving them amethodological approach that is able to handlesocial organizations in a way that emphasizesmutual understanding and interaction betweenthe actors
