    A new species of Caenis Stephens, 1836 (Ephemeroptera: Caenidae) from Southern Brazil

    A new species of the genus Caenis Stephens is described based on the male imago, female imago and egg stages from the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The male imago of Caenis gaucha sp. nov. is diagnosed as follows: body length of male 2.0–2.5 mm; base of antennal flagellum not dilated; forceps apically rounded, not fused to lateral margins of styliger plate; styliger plate short with posterior margin slightly sub-triangular; ratio of foreleg 1.7–2.2 × the length of hind leg, forceps length 4.4–6.0 × the width ½ from base, and distance between the extreme lateral points of the forceps bases 1.7–1.8 × forceps length.Fil: Lima, Lucas R.     This article analyzes some essays by Graciliano Ramos on Sagarana, a collection of short stories by Guimarães Rosa. The first version of Rosa’s book competed for the “Humberto de Campos” prize, in 1938. This paper aims to map and describe Ramos’ main observations, before and after the publication of Sagarana, in 1946. Graciliano’s analysis pointed out some characteristics of the novel: dialogue liveliness, description accuracy,narrative assuredness, and exemplary construction of human figures and representation of the animal world. These aspects highlighted in Graciliano’s reading have reappeared in later critical works on Rosa’s book, such as Candido’s (2002), Milliet’s (1981) and Lins’ (1963).Este trabalho estuda os textos críticos de Graciliano Ramos sobre a versão original de Sagarana, de Guimarães Rosa, que concorreu ao prêmio do concurso “Humberto de Campos”, em 1938, e objetiva mapear e descrever os principais apontamentos da leitura realizada pelo crítico antes e depois da publicação de Sagarana, em 1946. Ao destacar a vivacidade do diálogo, a exatidão da descrição, a segurança da narrativa e a exemplaridade na construção de figuras humanas e na representação do mundo animal, a leitura de Graciliano dialoga com os trabalhos posteriores de crítica de Candido (2002), Milliet (1981) e Lins (1963) sobre o livro de Guimarães Rosa, principalmente, por já indicar aspectos de análise que seriam desenvolvidos de modo recorrente pela crítica

    New records of mayflies (Ephemeroptera: Insecta) from Pernambuco state, Northeastern Brazil

    The knowledge about the distribution of Ephemeroptera in Brazil has increased in recent years, contributing to reduce the gaps about its distribution in this country. This paper presents an updated checklist of the species of Ephemeroptera from Pernambuco state, Northeastern Brazil based on bibliography and collections from numerous rivers and streams of 27 counties and 74 localities. In this study, 18 species and 11 genera are recorded for the first time from Pernambuco state, increasing from 43 to 61 the number of known species. With these results, Pernambuco becomes the state with highest number of species in Northeastern Region of Brazil. Moreover, Caenis chamie is reported for the first time from Brazil

    Este trabalho aborda a temática do lúdico e o ensino de Física. Tem por objetivo geral identificar os princípios teórico-metodológicos das práticas docentes em Física, desenvolvidas em Escola Estadual de Ensino Fundamental anos iniciais localizada no Município de Natal – RN. Como objetivos específicos se elencam: investigar as metodologias de ensino em Física que podem ser aplicadas a partir do lúdico; analisar a prática de ensino em Física dos professores do ensino fundamental anos iniciais, por meio da perspectiva lúdica. Para consubstanciar a investigação, se usou os procedimentos da pesquisa bibliográfica, análise documental, questionário e análise de conteúdo. Para analisar os dados, se discutiu a concepção de infância e as culturas infantis ao longo do percurso histórico. Se analisou as metodologias de Física a partir do uso do lúdico por meio de material de baixo custo e da experimentação; se analisou as práticas educacionais no ensino de Física por meio do lúdico. Quanto aos resultados, constatamos que o ensino de Física pode ser ministrado por meio do lúdico através do uso de material de baixo custo

    This article summarizes research that aimed to identify and analyze the Organizing Models of Thought - with its affective and cognitive dimensions - underlying the purpose of young Brazilians, and identifies possible relationships between values, feelings, emotions and purpose of 200 Brazilian High School students. Upon analyzing all the protocols, seven different ways of organizing thoughts were found when answering an open-ended questionnaire about purpose in life. It was observed that emotions and feelings play an important role in the construction of purpose for young people, exerting influence in organizing their thoughts and subsidizing their decisions, plans and justification for the actions

    O ensino de Zoologia na Educação Básica não deve focar a memorização de nomes e de características morfofisiológicas. Para uma aprendizagem significativa, espera-se  que um estudo contextualizado da fauna regional, aproveitando-se do ambiente  imediato, seja contemplado nas aulas de Ciências, notadamente em regiões de grande biomassa de determinados grupos animais. Com interesses voltados nesse tema, foi implementada uma pesquisa que teve o objetivo de delinear um perfil do ensino e do conhecimento de professores de Ciências e/ou Biologia, que lecionam sobre o Filo Porifera, em região de grande ocorrência de espongiofauna. Ao final deste estudo, além de mostrar aspectos formativos com lacunas impeditivas para uma percepção ampliada acerca desses animais, o perfil construído apresenta outras implicações que nos levam a refletir sobre o ensino de Zoologia e o ambiente imediato dos alunos

    ANALYSIS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ON WOMEN’S HEALTH

    Introduction: Violence against women is characterized by damage to physical and mental health of the victim, and is not linked solely to the use of physical force, but also the idea of submission, culturally ingrained in gender relations, in which man behaves itself as being dominant and women an inferior being. As result of violence, women are hindered in their social life, repressed and psychologically shaken. It is a public health problem of great magnitude in the world. It is known that women are more vulnerable to health problems and has unique needs, differentiated from other groups in society, such as prevention, control and combat to physical and mental illnesses. According to the National Policy for Integral Attention to Women’s Health, these injuries are more linked with gender issues such as the situation of discrimination in society than to biological factors. Gender inequalities, historically produced and legitimated by culture and society, put women in inferiority and depreciation position. In this context, violence is used as a mechanism of maintenance and confirmation of male power over women. Objective: Investigating the health problems resulting from domestic violence against women. Methods: An exploratory study with a qualitative approach, in the city of João Pessoa, involving 406 women who met the inclusion criteria. The speeches made by the interviewees were coded as analysis technique of speech. Results: The main diseases cited were headache, nausea, feeling of insecurity, stress, depression, difficulty with new relationships. Conclusion: The grievances caused from domestic violence in women who suffer permeate the physical damage, interfere with quality of life and surpass. It is important to give visibility to the phenomenon and insert gender concepts in the training of health professionals, providing tools for them to meet in a humane way and emancipatory approach to this population segment
