The authors of this paper dealt with the situation in agricultural enterprises in the Czech Republic, first of all from the view of main material flows and suitability and exploitation of storing areas. All investigated enterprises [86] were evaluated according to their acreage and divided into two groups: 1] less than 1500 and more than 1500 ha of agricultural land. As a supplement of this investigation data concerning the transport distances in km and data from the nation-wide census concerning the number and equipment of special storage houses in the Czech Republic are added.Autoři tohoto článku se zabývali situací v zemědělských podnicích v České republice, především z hlediska hlavních materiálových toků a vhodnosti a využívání skladů.

Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) represents an acute heart failure syndrome and is increasingly recognized as part of the spectrum of cardiac complications observed after neurological disorders. A systematic investigation of TTS patients with neurological disorders has not been conducted yet. The aim of the study was to expand insights regarding neurological disease entities triggering TTS and to investigate the clinical profile and outcomes of TTS patients after primary neurological disorders. The International Takotsubo Registry is an observational multicenter collaborative effort of 45 centers in 14 countries (ClinicalTrials.gov, identifier NCT01947621). All patients in the registry fulfilled International Takotsubo Diagnostic Criteria. For the present study, patients were included if complete information on acute neurological disorders were available. 2402 patients in whom complete information on acute neurological status were available were analyzed. In 161 patients (6.7%) an acute neurological disorder was identified as the preceding triggering factor. The most common neurological disorders were seizures, intracranial hemorrhage, and ischemic stroke. Time from neurological symptoms to TTS diagnosis was ≤ 2 days in 87.3% of cases. TTS patients with neurological disorders were younger, had a lower female predominance, fewer cardiac symptoms, lower left ventricular ejection fraction, and higher levels of cardiac biomarkers. TTS patients with neurological disorders had a 3.2-fold increased odds of in-hospital mortality compared to TTS patients without neurological disorders. In this large-scale study, 1 out of 15 TTS patients had an acute neurological condition as the underlying triggering factor. Our data emphasize that a wide spectrum of neurological diseases ranging from benign to life-threatening encompass TTS. The high rates of adverse events highlight the need for clinical awareness. The International Takotsubo Registry was supported by the Biss Davies Charitable Trust. The contribution of myocardial contrast echocardiography in patients with coronary heart disease

    No full text
Contrast echocardiography is a new myocardial echocardiographic method that extends the capabilities of conventional echocardiography. In our first two works, we focused on determining the size of infarction in patients after AMI and compared this method with today's most commonly used diagnostic methods. We found good agreement between KEM and SPECT in the evaluation of infarction size and correlation between the extent of oscillations Q on ECG and impaired microvascular perfusion of the myocardium - or the size of infarction. In patients with chronic forms of CHD, we found that the KEM can fairly well predict the kinetics porevaskularizační improvement segments with severely impaired kinetics and in this clinical situation is comparable with Contrast-magnetic resonance imaging. In addition, low variability and low number of investigative areas nehodnotitelných infarction KEM show that it is a simple, easily reproducible and teachable method. Finally, the relatively low cost and wide availability KEM indicate great potential usefulness of this method in clinical practice

Foreign direct investments in the Czech Republic (with the emphasis on border regions)

    No full text
The role of the foreign direct investments in the economy is nowadays without dispute one of the most debated issues not only for the economic forum. However, most of the regionalists consider these investments to be one of the most effective methods of development, mainly of the regional economies. The purpose of this article is the assessment of the role of the foreign direct investments in the Czech Republic in the development of the Czech border regions after 1989. Although the incentive system preferred the regions with high unemployment rate, the foreign investors often located their financial means even in the economically less problematic regions; therefore the great regional differences in the situation on the job market in the Czech Republic have not been reduced so far. The regional differentiation can also be observed In the Czech border regions. The inflow of the foreign direct investments and the number of job opportunities In industrial companies with foreign capital interests are considerably higher in the regions bordering on Bavaria than for instance in the regions bordering on Poland or Slovakia44545

Investigation of Bi2Te3-Bi2Te3-xSx structures by photovoltage measurements

    No full text
The single-crystal structure of Bi2Te3 -Bi2Te3-xSx with a p-n junction was prepared by the heat treatment of p -Bi2Te3 in sulphur vapors. This structure was characterized by the measurement of the photovoltaic effect. The dependence of the photovoltage at 77 K on the wavelenght shows two speaks at 2.8 um (=0.44 eV) and at 1.9 um (=0.65 eV). The higher peak at 2.8 um (=0.44 eV) corresponds to the bandgap (Eg = 0.43 eV) of Bi8Te7S5. It is created probably by the electric field on the p-n junction at the interface of n -Bi8Te7S5 and deeper lying p -Bi2Te3-xSx with x0.15

Modified Strategies for Invasive Management of Acute Coronary Syndrome during the COVID-19 Pandemic

    No full text
The COVID-19 pandemic presents several challenges for managing patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Modified treatment algorithms have been proposed for the pandemic. We assessed new algorithms proposed by The European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) and the Acute Cardiovascular Care Association (ACCA) on patients with ACS admitted to the hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. The COVID-19 period group (CPG) consisted of patients admitted into a high-volume centre in Prague between 1 February 2020 and 30 May 2020 (n = 181). The reference group (RG) included patients who had been admitted between 1 October 2018 and 31 January 2020 (n = 834). The proportions of patients with different types of ACS admitted before and during the pandemic did not differ significantly: in all ACS patients, KILLIP III-IV class was present in 13.9% in RG and in 9.4% of patients in CPG (p = 0.082). In NSTE-ACS patients, the ejection fraction was lower in the CPG than in the RG (44.7% vs. 50.7%, respectively; p < 0.001). The time from symptom onset to first medical contact did not differ between CPG and RG patients in the respective NSTE-ACS and STEMI groups. The time to early invasive treatment in NSTE-ACS patients and the time to reperfusion in STEMI patients were not significantly different between the RG and the CPG. In-hospital mortality did not differ between the groups in NSTE-ACS patients (odds ratio in the CPG 0.853, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.247 to 2.951; p = 0.960) nor in STEMI patients (odds ratio in CPG 1.248, 95% CI 0.566 to 2.749; p = 0.735). Modified treatment strategies for ACS during the COVID-19 pandemic did not cause treatment delays. Hospital mortality did not differ

Sociálně vyloučené lokality z pohledu sociodemografických ukazatelů =The demographics of socially excluded localities in the Czech Republic

    No full text
In the Czech Republic, the issues of marginalisation, social inequality, and poverty are predominantly discussed in relation to the ‘socially excluded population’ living in ‘socially excluded localities’ (SEL). However, comprehensive information on the composition of the population in these localities is not yet available. Based on a quantitative survey (N = 2 566) carried out in socially excluded localities in the Czech Republic, this paper presents the demographics of the population while highlighting its distinguishing characteristics.213
