Studies on the Schismatoglottideae (Araceae) of Borneo VI : A New Schismatoglottis Species from Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo
Fieldwork in Sarawak continues to reveal further novelties in the genus Schismatoglottis Zoll & Moritzi, notably in the Asperata and Multiflora Groups (sensu Hay & Yuzammi, 2000). The second author collected a new Schismatoglottis species in Sarawak belonging to the Multiflora Group. This is here described and illustrated and included in additions to the key to Bornean Schismatoglottis published by Hay & Yuzammi (2000)
Studies on Schismatoglottis (Araceae) of Borneo IV : Preliminary observations on spathe senescence mechanics in Schismatoglottis Zoll. & Moritzi in Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo
Recent alpha-taxonomic studies of Schismatoglottis Zoll. & Moritzi provide a sufficiently stable framework to facilitate taxonomically robust multidisciplinary research, notably molecular phylogenetic, ecological and phenological studies including analyses of morphology adaptations to specialized ecology (in particular rheophytism), and comparison of mechanical processes linked to pollination strategies (notably spathe senescence)..
Studies on Homalomeneae (Araceae) of Borneo XXVII: A new Homalomena [Chamaecladon Clade] endemic to the Santubong Peninsula
A new species of Homalomena Chamaecladon Clade is described from the
Santubong Peninsula, Kuching Division, Sarawak, to where it is endemic, and compared with H. paucinervia from the nearby Matang Massif, and with H. atrox from Sri
Aman, the two other most similar described species from NW Borneo. All three species are illustrated from living plants, and keyed-out
Studies on Schismatoglottideae (Araceae) of Borneo LXX β New colonial species for the Schismatoglottis [Calyptrata Clade] from Sarawak
Three new colonial species of Schismatoglottis Calyptrata clade are described and illustrated from Sarawak and compared with the four pre-existing morphologically similar species occurring in the state. A modi.ed description of Schismatoglottis niahensis is provided to correct a previous misinterpretation of the stem architecture. All seven recognized species are illustrated from living plants
Studies on Monstereae (Araceae) of Borneo III β Two new Rhaphidophora species with perforated leaf blades
Two new species of Rhaphidophora with perforated leaf blades are described from Borneo and
illustrated from living plants. An identification key to the five morphologically similar Bornean
species is provided
Studies on Schismatoglottideae (Araceae) of Borneo L β Schismatoglottis meriraiensis, a new limestone-obligated species with viviparous leaves
Schismatoglottis meriraiensis P.C.Boyce & S.Y.Wong, is described from Bukit Merirai, an isolated forested Karst limestone outcrop on the Bintulu/Kapit border of N Central Sarawak. Additional to a suite of defining characteristics, S. meriraiensis is remarkable by possessing natural viviparous capabilities from whole, partial, and fragmentary leaves. This quality is shared with Schismatoglottis puberulipes Alderw. (expanded here to include Schismatoglottis gamoandra M.Hotta), and in a different expression (restricted to the mid-rib and terminal tubule of the blade), with Schismatoglottis hayi S.Y.Wong & P.C.Boyce, of the Multinervia Complex, to which S. meriraiensis and S. puberulipes are here assigned
Studies on the Homalomeneae(Araceae) of Borneo XXIV:Two new geologically-restricted species of Homalomena from NW Borneo
Homalomena acuminata (Ridl.) S.Y. Wong & P.C. Boyce and H. ridleyi S.Y. Wong & P.C. Boyce are described and illustrated as new species of the Griffithii complex of the Chamaecladon clade restricted respectively to sandstones and forested karst formations in NW Borneo, Malaysia. A key to the described species of the Griffithii complex on Borneo is provided
Studies of the Homalomeneae (Araceae) of Peninsular Malaysia VII: Homalomena puncticulosa [Chamaecladon Clade], a new species from recreational forest
Homalomena puncticulosa is described and illustrated as a new species of the Chamaecladon Clade known from a single population in Selangor, and compared with the super-cially similar H. kiahii Furtado, and other similar Sumateran species
