Hadronic and radiative three-body decays of J/psi involving the scalars f0(1370), f0(1500) and f0(1710)
We study the role of the scalar resonances f0(1370), f0(1500) and f0(1710) in
the strong and radiative three-body decays of J/psi with J/psi to V + P P
(gamma gamma) and J/psi to gamma + P P (V V), where P (V) denotes a
pseudoscalar (vector) meson. We assume that the scalars result from a
glueball-quarkonium mixing scheme while the dynamics of the transition process
is described in an effective chiral Lagrangian approach. Present data on J/psi
to V + P P are well reproduced, predictions for the radiative processes serve
as further tests of this scenario.Comment: 15 page

A hipercalcemia Ă© a complicação mais frequente, podendo em alguns casos ser grave e exigir terapĂȘutica especĂfica. Relata-se o caso de um recĂ©m-nascido de cesariana emergente por sofrimento fetal, tendo sido submetido a protocolo de hipotermia induzida. Foi diagnosticado com necrose gorda do recĂ©m-nascido ao 11Âș dia de internamento. No 23Âș dia identificou-se hipercalcemia, tendo iniciado terapĂȘutica com pamidronato, com consequente diminuição gradual da calcemia. Sublinha-se a necessidade da identificação rĂĄpida de necrose gorda, possibilitando antecipar a hipercalcemia e iniciar terapĂȘutica precoce
Silages of agro-industrial by-products in lamb diets : effct on growth performance, carcass, meat quality and in vitro methane emissions
Research Areas: AgricultureABSTRACT - The use of agro-industrial by-products in animal feed is an opportunity to reduce imports, food waste and promote a clean and circular economy, turning worthless raw materials into high -quality and low-cost animal feeds, which does not compete with human food. This study aims to produce silages with by-products of carrot, sweet potato, potato, and tomato pomace and integrate them in lamb diets, replacing 50% of dry matter (DM) of a concentrate-based diet. Effects on growth performance, meat quality and methane production were evaluated. Three silages were produced using 350 g/kg tomato pomace, 200 g/kg wheat bran, 150 g/kg alfalfa hay and 300 g/kg potato (Psil) or 300 g/kg sweet potato (SPsil) or 300 g/kg carrot (Csil). Thirty-two lambs were housed individually and divided into four groups (8 animals/group) on the following diets: Control -850 g/kg concentrate and 150 g/kg hay; P -500 g/kg concentrate and 500 g/kg Psil in DM; SP - 500 g/kg concentrate and 500 g/kg SPsil in DM; C - 500 g/kg concentrate and 500 g/kg Csil in DM. The trial lasted 6 weeks after 1 week of adaptation. Methane production was assessed in vitro by the Ankom system, using as inoculum rumen content samples collected individually from 6 lambs on each diet at slaughter. Diet had no effect on DM intake, average daily gain and DM conversion ratio, averaging 1055 +/- 248 g, 320 +/- 61.1 g and 3.35 +/- 0.600, respectively. Also, carcass characteristics were not affected by the diet except for the lightness of subcutaneous fat which was increased by the silage diets (L* value, P = 0.016). The meat pa-rameters, pH, intramuscular fat, shear force, cooking losses and sensory attributes, were not affected by the diet. In meat color, the parameters a* and Chroma were highest in animals fed diet C, have an intermediate value with Control diet and are lowest with diets P and SP (P = 0.027 and P = 0.012, respectively). Diets had no impact on total methane emissions. The costs of the silage diets per kg live weight gain were lower than those of Control diet (P = 0.018). In summary, by-product silage can be a good option to replace concentrated feed in lamb diets without altering the growth performance and meat quality or methane production and thus contributing to the sustainability of livestock farms and the environment.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Solving the 3D Ising Model with the Conformal Bootstrap
We study the constraints of crossing symmetry and unitarity in general 3D
Conformal Field Theories. In doing so we derive new results for conformal
blocks appearing in four-point functions of scalars and present an efficient
method for their computation in arbitrary space-time dimension. Comparing the
resulting bounds on operator dimensions and OPE coefficients in 3D to known
results, we find that the 3D Ising model lies at a corner point on the boundary
of the allowed parameter space. We also derive general upper bounds on the
dimensions of higher spin operators, relevant in the context of theories with

Four-point correlators with higher weight superconformal primaries in the AdS/CFT Correspondence
The four-point correlation function of two 1/2 BPS primaries of conformal
weight and two 1/2-BPS primaries of conformal weight is
calculated in the large 't Hooft, large limit. These operators are dual to
Kaluza-Klein supergravity fields with masses and .
Given that the existing formalism for evaluating sums of products of SO(6)
tensors that determine the effective couplings is only suitable for primaries
with small conformal dimensions, we make us of an alternative formalism based
on harmonic polynomials introduced by Dolan and Osborn.
We then show that the supergravity lagrangian relevant to the computation is
of sigma-model type (i.e., the four-derivative couplings vanish) and that the
final result for the connected amplitude splits into a free and an interacting

Mellin Amplitudes for Dual Conformal Integrals
Motivated by recent work on the utility of Mellin space for representing
conformal correlators in /CFT, we study its suitability for representing
dual conformal integrals of the type which appear in perturbative scattering
amplitudes in super-Yang-Mills theory. We discuss Feynman-like rules for
writing Mellin amplitudes for a large class of integrals in any dimension, and
find explicit representations for several familiar toy integrals. However we
show that the power of Mellin space is that it provides simple representations
even for fully massive integrals, which except for the single case of the
4-mass box have not yet been computed by any available technology. Mellin space
is also useful for exhibiting differential relations between various multi-loop
integrals, and we show that certain higher-loop integrals may be written as
integral operators acting on the fully massive scalar -gon in
dimensions, whose Mellin amplitude is exactly 1. Our chief example is a very
simple formula expressing the 6-mass double box as a single integral of the
6-mass scalar hexagon in 6 dimensions.Comment: 29+7 page
Impact of maternally derived pertussis antibody titers on infant whole-cell pertussis vaccine response in a low income setting
Background: Maternal vaccines against pertussis are not yet recommended in the developing world. Besides unclear burden estimates, another concern is that transplacental transfer of maternal pertussis antibodies could result in attenuation of the immune response to whole cell pertussis (DTwP) primary vaccination series in infants. This study was taken up to determine whether higher levels of maternal pertussis antibodies attenuate immune response of infants to DTwP vaccination series given at 6-10-14 weeks of age.Methodology: A total of 261 pregnant women and their infants from four low-income settlements in Karachi, Pakistan were enrolled in this study. The study endpoints were infant antibody titers for Pertussis toxin (PTx), Filamentous hemagglutinin antigen (FHA), Pertactin (PRN) and Fimbriae type 2/3 (FIM) - from birth through 18 weeks of age. Cord blood or pre-vaccine pertussis antibody titers indicate the concentration of maternal antibodies transferred to infants. Linear regression models were used to determine the association between higher maternal antibody titers and infant immune response to DTwP vaccine. Geometric Mean Ratio (GMR) was calculated as the ratio of infant antibody titers at specified time points against the maternal antibody titers at the time of delivery.Results: At eighteen weeks of age, the adjusted ÎČ regression coefficient for PTx was 0.06 (95% CI: -0.49-0.61), FHA 0.02 (95% CI: -0.26 -0.29), PRN 0.02 (95%CI -0.38- 0.43), and FIM 0.17 (95%CI: -0.21-0.54). Among infants who received at least two doses of DTwP vaccine, higher maternal antibody titers did not have any attenuating effect on infant post-immunization antibody titers against all four pertussis antigens.Conclusion: Maternal pertussis antibodies did not attenuate infant\u27s immune response to pertussis antigens in DTwP primary vaccine given at 6-10-14 weeks of age
