Orientação: Maria Lídia PalmaRumex crispus L., de nome comum Labaça-crespa, é uma planta endémica espalhada pelo mundo, sendo uma das mais infestantes em Portugal. Esta monografia, contem a descrição da planta, nomeadamente os sinónimos, variedades, o habitat e distribuição geográfica. São apresentados os extratos e a forma de obtenção. São referidos os constituintes mais importantes da planta nomeadamente, compostos fenólicos (antraquinonas, taninos, flavonoides), derivados naftalénicos, ácidos fenólicos (ácido gálico), mucilagens, o ácido oxálico, sais de ferro e fósforo. Fazem ainda parte desta monografia as informações clínicas, e principais indicações descritas na literatura (obstipação, diarreia, dermatite, urticária, psoríase, gengivite, tinha, anemia). Estudos “in vivo” e “in vitro” que suportam as ações farmacológicas estudadas (acção antimicrobiana, antioxidante, anti tumoral, anti fúngica e anti malárica).Rumex crispus L., common name Curly dock, is a plant found throughout the world, being one of the most weeds in Portugal. They’re part of this monograph the clinical information and the main indications described in the literature (constipation, diarrhea, dermatitis, urticaria, psoriasis, gingivitis, ringworm and anemia). As well in vivo and in vitro studies support the pharmacological studied actions (antimicrobial action, antioxidant, anti tumoural, anti fungal and anti malaria)

Digital influencers and online shopping: a methodological proposal

Nowadays, with the constant development of the internet, individuals are increasingly taking an active part in the digital world: they view and share content and express their opinions. In social networks, online interaction is predominant. By sharing content, anonymous individuals gain visibility, reaching thousands of people and consequently gaining thousands of followers. These people are digital influencers. Through the content they publish on social networks, digital influencers are able to influence the purchase decision of their followers. In this article, we describe the methodological strategy that will be used to collect data to study the role of digital influencers in the online purchase decision of their followers. The research is quantitative in nature, and data will be collected through a questionnaire distributed on digital channels to the Portuguese population

Tinnitus sensation pre and post nutritional intervention in metabolic disorders

TEMA: diferentes etiologias estão relacionadas com a presença de zumbido, incluindo doenças metabólicas (glicêmicas e lipídicas). OBJETIVO: comparar o grau de severidade do zumbido por meio de medidas de auto-análise em sujeitos com alterações metabólicas pré e pós-intervenção nutricional, utilizando o Questionário de Gravidade do Zumbido. MÉTODO: vinte e um sujeitos, homens e mulheres, com idade entre 40 e 82 anos, participaram deste estudo. Critérios de inclusão abrangeram a presença de zumbido e de alteração metabólica diagnosticada por meio de exames laboratoriais. Todos os sujeitos foram submetidos a um programa de intervenção nutricional. A avaliação audiológia e o questionário de gravidade de zumbido foram aplicados pré e pós-intervenção. RESULTADOS: comparando os resultados pré e pós-intervenção os dados mostram uma diferença estatisticamente significante com relação à sensação do zumbido em 71,5% dos sujeitos, os quais referiram menor impacto do zumbido nas atividades diárias. CONCLUSÃO: uma importante diferença foi observada com relação à influência do zumbido na vida do sujeito quando utilizadas as medidas de auto-análise. Verificou-se uma relação direta entre zumbido e alterações metabólicas em casos relacionados a estes sintomas.BACKGROUND: different etiologies are related to tinnitus including metabolic disorders (blood glucose and lipids). AIM: the aim of this study was compare tinnitus severity by self-report measures pre and post nutritional intervention, using the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory. METHOD: participants of this study were twenty one male and female subjects, with ages ranging from 40 to 82 years. Inclusion criteria involved the presence of tinnitus and metabolic disorder diagnosed by laboratory exams. All subjects were submitted to a nutritional intervention program. Audiological evaluation and the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory were applied pre and post intervention. RESULTS: when comparing the presence of tinnitus pre and post intervention, data analysis indicates statistical difference concerning tinnitus sensation - 71.5% of the individuals referred less impact of tinnitus in daily activities. CONCLUSION: an important difference was observed concerning tinnitus influence in subject's life by self-report measures. A New Compound Heterozygosis For Inactivating Mutations In The Glucokinase Gene As Cause Of Permanent Neonatal Diabetes Mellitus (pndm) In Double-first Cousins.

Permanent neonatal diabetes mellitus (PNDM) is a rare disorder, characterized by uncontrolled hyperglycemia diagnosed during the first 6 months of life. In general, PNDM has a genetic origin and most frequently it results from heterozygous mutations in KCNJ11, INS and ABCC8 genes. Homozygous or compound heterozygous inactivating mutations in GCK gene as cause of PNDM are rare. In contrast, heterozygosis for GCK inactivating mutations is frequent and results in the maturity-onset diabetes of young (MODY), manifested by a mild fasting hyperglycemia usually detected later in life. Therefore, as an autosomal recessive disorder, GCK-PNDM should be considered in families with history of glucose intolerance or MODY in first relatives, especially when consanguinity is suspected. Here we describe two patients born from non-consanguineous parents within a family. They presented low birth weight with persistent hyperglycemia during the first month of life. Molecular analyses for KCNJ11, INS, ABCC8 did not show any mutation. GCK gene sequencing, however, revealed that both patients were compound heterozygous for two missense combined in a novel GCK-PNDM genotype. The p.Asn254His and p.Arg447Gly mutations had been inherited from their mothers and fathers, respectively, as their mothers are sisters and their fathers are brothers. Parents had been later diagnosed as having GCK-MODY. Mutations' in silico analysis was carried out to elucidate the role of the amino acid changes on the enzyme structure. Both p.Asn254His and p.Arg447Gly mutations appeared to be quite damaging. This is the first report of GCK-PNDM in a Brazilian family.710

ANÁLISE DE MATERIAIS DE REFERÊNCIA NA ÁREA DA DEFICIÊNCIA INTELECTUAL DESTINADOS À FORMAÇÃO CONTINUADA DE PROFESSORES

The education of students with intellectual disabilities is currently based on philosophical, political and legal integration principles, which provide for the enrollment of all students in regular education and common classrooms offering the Specialized Educational Assistance (SEA). For this is important offering preparation for teachers that address these demands. Considering offering  Distance Education courses by the Ministry of Education, carried out a literature review aiming to identify and analyze instructional materials in the field of intellectual disabilities, used in special education teacher preparation, available on the Ministry of education (MEC) / Department of Continuing education, Literacy, Diversity (SECADI) site. After a search on the site two materials was found: Educational Service Specialist - Intellectual Disability and Support Services Specialized Education for Students with Intellectual Disabilities. These were analyzed in categories, which allowed the detection of concepts related to disability, the interaction between specialized and regular teacher'; the use of tools and finally the assessment of students with intellectual disabilities. It is estimated that, in general, the materials analyzed permeated some important issues related to intellectual disability. Although, as instructional materials for teacher training in the SEA nationwide, it is understood that some important aspects may have been neglected or unsuccessful, because of a political and theoretical positioning of some of its authors. As a conclusion it is suggested to conduct further exploratory research, bibliographic, for the analysis and the review of instructional materials for special education teachers preparation in distance education, with the expectation that the findings may somehow contribute to discussions about instructional materials.A escolarização de alunos com deficiência intelectual atualmente baseia-se em princípios filosóficos, políticos e legais de inclusão, que preveem a matrícula de todos os alunos em salas regulares do ensino comum e a oferta do Atendimento Educacional Especializado (AEE). Para tanto, se faz mister a provisão de cursos de formação de professores que contemplem essas demandas. Considerando a crescente oferta de cursos na modalidade de Educação a Distância (EaD) pelo Ministério da Educação, realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica, com o objetivo de identificar e analisar materiais instrucionais na área da deficiência intelectual, utilizados na formação de professores de educação especial, disponíveis no site do Ministério da Educação (MEC)/Secretaria de Educação Continuada, Alfabetização, Diversidade e Inclusão (SECADI). Após uma busca no site foram encontrados dois Materiais: Atendimento Educacional Especializado - Deficiência Mental e O Atendimento Educacional Especializado para alunos com Deficiência Intelectual. Estes foram analisados em categorias temáticas, o que permitiu a detecção de concepções relacionadas à deficiência, ao AEE, à interação do professor da sala comum; ao uso de ferramentas e por fim, à avaliação de estudantes com deficiência intelectual. Avalia-se que, de um modo geral, os materiais analisados perpassaram temáticas importantes relacionadas à deficiência intelectual. Conquanto, como materiais instrucionais destinados à formação de professores no AEE de quase todo o território nacional, entende-se que alguns aspectos importantes podem ter sido negligenciados ou preteridos, em razão de um posicionamento político e teórico de alguns de seus autores. Como conclusão sugere-se a realização de novas pesquisas bibliográficas, para a análise e a reanálise de materiais instrucionais destinados à formação de professores de educação especial em EaD, com a expectativa de que os achados possam, de algum modo, contribuir para as discussões sobre a elaboração de materiais instrucionais
