    La littérature grecque classique et sa traduction en contexte scolaire en GrÚce

    Notre recherche porte sur la littĂ©rature grecque classique, telle qu’elle est enseignĂ©e actuellement en GrĂšce aux trois classes du collĂšge, par le biais de sa traduction en grec moderne. Nous Ă©tudions les textes institutionnels (livre de l’élĂšve, livre de l’enseignant, programme d’études) afin de pouvoir mieux cerner l’identitĂ© et l’orientation de ces cours de littĂ©rature grecque classique en traduction pour ensuite identifier les Ă©lĂ©ments qui sont liĂ©s Ă  la place du traducteur et Ă  la fonction de la traductionOur research focuses on Ancient Greek literature, as it is currently taught in the three classes of high school in Greece, through its translation into Modern Greek. The relevant institutional texts (student’s book, teacher’s book and Greek national curriculum) are studied, in order to determine the identity and the orientation of these courses in Ancient Greek literature in translation as well as to pinpoint any available information related to the role of the translator and the function of translation

    This article presents a comparative study of French and Greek administrative language, as it is used by public administration institutions in their internal communication as well as in their external communi- cation with the citizens. In the present study, we employ a corpus-based contrastive approach, by using bilingual comparable corpora in the subject field of “employment”. First, we present our method concerning the compilation of the comparable corpora and the digital tools used for their processing analysis; and then, we proceed with the analysis of the textual data from a contrastive perspective.     Typologie et traduction des noms d'institutions

    After defining the names of institutions as a category of named entities, we present some general problems raised by this category of names in relation to their translation from French into Greek. Based on a corpus of data collected from the Internet, we propose a typology of these names on the domain of their activity and then describe the various procedures that are used for their translation. Finally, we examine some issues about variation in relation to automatic recognition and translation

    Depuis une dizaine d’annĂ©es, on ne parle que de la crise financiĂšre et Ă©conomique et de son impact Ă  plusieurs Ă©chelles. Cette recherche porte sur les termes caractĂ©ristiques de cette crise, et en particulier les termes liĂ©s Ă  la crise Ă©conomique grecque. Notre point de dĂ©part est un glossaire qui rassemble 800 entrĂ©es et propose leurs Ă©quivalents dans plusieurs langues. Notre objectif est de vĂ©rifier leurs occurrences dans des corpus en trois langues (français, anglais, grec), d’étudier leur frĂ©quence et leur Ă©ventuelle variation, et de dĂ©crire leur comportement en contexte. Les corpus nous permettront, d’une part, de valider ces termes qui ne sont pas encore tous normalisĂ©s et encodĂ©s dans les bases de donnĂ©es terminologiques et les ouvrages de rĂ©fĂ©rence et, d’autre part, de rĂ©pertorier la variation des Ă©quivalents en traduction. Notre dĂ©marche s’inscrit dans la perspective de complĂ©ter et d’enrichir le glossaire existant afin de proposer un outil d’aide efficace aux traducteurs et rĂ©dacteurs techniques.During the past decade, the financial and economic crisis has been one of the most discussed subjects, and, consequently, its impact in every level. This research focuses on the most relevant terms of this crisis, and particularly on the terms related to the Greek financial crisis. The starting point of our research is a glossary consisting of 800 entries, with their equivalents in various languages. Our objective is to verify the occurrences in corpora of these terms in three languages (French, English, Greek), to study their frequencies and to describe their behavior in context. Corpora allow the validation of terms that are not yet established, standardized or included in terminological databases and reference resources; moreover, we can extract and list the variations of equivalent terms. Our approach aims to complete and enrich the existing glossary, and to offer a useful tool for both translators and technical writers.Desde hace unos diez años solo se habla de la crisis econĂłmica y financiera y de su impacto a diferentes escalas. Este estudio se basa en los tĂ©rminos caracterĂ­sticos de esta crisis y, en particular, en los tĂ©rminos relacionados con la crisis econĂłmica griega. Nuestro punto de partida es un glosario que recoge 800 entradas y propone sus equivalentes en varias lenguas. Nuestro objetivo es revisar sus ocurrencias en los corpus en tres lenguas (francĂ©s, inglĂ©s y griego), estudiar su frecuencia y su posible variaciĂłn y describir su comportamiento en contexto. Los corpus nos permitirĂĄn, por una parte, validar los tĂ©rminos que todavĂ­a no han sido normalizados y codificados en bases de datos terminolĂłgicas y obras de referencia y, por otra parte, registrar la variaciĂłn de los equivalentes en la traducciĂłn.     The aim of this paper is to examine the factors that may boost or hinder the effectiveness of translation as a vehicle of knowledge dissemination. The analysis was based on bibliographical data concerning the translations of books of all kinds (monographs, handbooks, textbooks, anthologies, etc.) in the field of translation Studies, which have been published in Greece and Poland. Both countries can be considered as being on the periphery of Europe on the basis of geographical, political, economic, linguistic, and cultural criteria. In both countries, the number of these translations is actually very small (about 20 in each of them), and the number of their source languages is extremely limited (mostly English, rarely French or German). However, the different organization of their universities and academic research shapes not only how the individual translation training and scientific work on translation are developed, but also how these translations are embedded in university syllabi.     Teaching Terminology in the Translator Training Academic Courses: A Study of the Greek and Polish Cases

    In our current information society, terminology is developing very fast in every field across the globe and large multilingual and multinational organisations increasingly require specialists in terminology and specialised translation. Our survey falls within the field of research on specialised translation teaching and, particularly, the training of translators in the field of terminology at an academic level. Our starting point was the statement that the search for the right terms and other tasks related to terminology represent a significant part of the tasks of every translator and that terminology is one of the skills of a translator. In this paper, we compare the place given to terminology in translator training at the university in Greece and in Poland, both in foreign philology and translation training programmes. After providing some general information on the terminological work performed by translators and on the skills required in this field, we compare and comment the results of our analysis of the terminology courses offered to philology and translation students in Greek and Polish universities. In the last part of the paper, we examine the place of terminology in both countries and the forms of its institutionalisation at the national level, which can either encourage or jeopardize the process of teaching terminology
