Drivers e fatores que influenciam a integração da sustentabilidade na estratégia das empresas do setor da hotelaria

The main goal of this dissertation is to understand the different drivers and factors that positively or negatively influence the integration of sustainability in the strategy of companies in the hospitality sector. Complementarily, the investigation also aims to understand whether hotels with different characteristics present different drivers and factors in this same issue, as well as how these companies integrate sustainability into their strategic planning. To this end, four semi-structured interviews were carried out with managers of four different hotels that allowed me to understand the different points of view on the subject, as well as to understand what motivates and influences the integration of sustainability by these hotels. A questionnaire was also applied to these same managers in order to confront them with the different drivers and factors that were highlighted by the authors in the literature review. From this analysis, it was possible to understand that although there are differences between the hotels that are in different stages of integration of sustainability and also between those that have different dimensions, some common drivers and factors were also found between the different hotels, namely social and environmental responsibility, stakeholder involvement and organizational culture.Esta dissertação tem como principal objetivo compreender os diferentes "drivers", barreiras e fatores que influenciam de forma positiva ou negativa a integração da sustentabilidade na estratégia das empresas do setor da hotelaria. Complementarmente, a investigação tem também como meta perceber se hotéis com diferentes características entre si apresentam "drivers" e fatores diferentes nesta mesma questão, assim como o modo como estas empresas integram a sustentabilidade na sua estratégia. Para este fim, foram realizadas quatro entrevistas semiestruturadas junto de responsáveis de quatro hotéis diferentes que permitiram perceber os diferentes pontos de vista existentes em relação ao tema, assim como perceber aquilo que motiva e influencia a integração da sustentabilidade por parte destes hotéis. Aplicou-se também um questionário a estes mesmos responsáveis com o objetivo de obter a sua perceção acerca dos diferentes "drivers" e fatores que foram destacados pelos autores na revisão de literatura. A partir desta análise, foi possível entender que apesar de existirem diferenças entre os hotéis que se encontram em fases de integração da sustentabilidade diferentes e também entre aqueles que apresentam diferentes dimensões, foram também encontrados alguns "drivers" e fatores comuns entre os diferentes empreendimentos turísticos, nomeadamente a responsabilidade social e ambiental, o envolvimento dos "stakeholders" e a cultura organizacional

A situated approach to person memory

PsycINFO Classification: 2340, 2343, 3000, 3040O presente trabalho estende a abordagem da cognição socialmente situada (CSS; E. R. Smith &Semin, 2004) ao estudo da memória de pessoas. A investigação em memória de pessoas têm tradicionalmente estudado as estruturas e os processos psicológicos separando-os do nosso próprio corpo e dos ambientes físicos e sociais envolventes. Com base na abordagem da CSS, argumentamos que a memória de pessoas, tal como outros processos cognitivos, é corporalizada, situada, e distribuída. Estes princípios teóricos, foram explorados em três conjuntos de estudos. Nos primeiros dois estudos testámos a ideia de que a memória de pessoas é corporalizada. Tal como previsto, verificámos que a recordação é facilitada por pistas espaciais e motoras apresentadas em localizações espaciais metaforicamente compatíveis. Nos quatro estudos seguintes explorámos a natureza situadada memória de pessoas. Os resultados mostraram que a recordação de comportamentos acerca de uma pessoa-alvo é facilitada quando o contexto físico presente durante a codificação e recuperação é relevante para a ocupação do alvo. Por último, testámos o pressuposto de que a memória é distribuída. Este estudo mostrou que distribuir informação a um parceiro, após a codificação ter acontecido, reduz a memória futura para essa informação. O presente programa de investigação tem implicações para o estudo da memória de pessoas e para a abordagem da CSS. Ao adoptarmos a perspectiva da CSS para investigar a memória pessoas obtemos informação adicional sobre os factores que determinam a codificação e recuperação de informação social. Paralelamente, a nossa investigação fornece apoio adicional aos principais pressupostos da CSS.The present work extends the socially situated cognition approach (SSC; E. R. Smith & Semin, 2004) to the study of person memory. Research on person memory has typically focused on studying psychological structures and processes as independent from people’s bodies, and physical and social environments. Based on the SCC approach, we argue that person memory, like other cognitive processes, is embodied, situated and distributed. These theoretical principles are examined in three sets of experiments. The first set of two experiments examined the idea that person memory is embodied. As predicted, recall was enhanced by spatial cues and motor movements in metaphor compatible locations. Another set of four experiments was designed to investigate the situatednessof person memory. Results showed that encoding or retrieving behavioral information about a target-person in a context with target-relevant physical contextual information facilitates the recall of social information. Finally, we tested the assumption that memory is distributed. This experiment showed that distributing information to a partner, after encoding has taken place, reduces subsequent memory for that information. The present research program has implications for both person memory and the SSC approach. Adopting a SSC perspective to investigate person memory provides new insights about the factors shaping the way people encode and retrieve social information from memory. Furthermore, our research lends novel support to the main principles of the SSC perspective

Transcendência na cinantropologia de Manuel Sérgio

This article seeks to analyze the contribution of Portuguese philosopher Manuel Sergio to Religious Studies. The author dedicated his long academic life to the study of sports, but with a peculiar humanistic perspective. Instead of focusing on performance, the author focuses on the Human being who moves. This is what he defines as "Kinanthropology". Transcendence is a major element in this proposal. In this article, after presenting Sergio's fundamental anthropological framework and his understanding of "human kinetics", three of his possible theoretical contributions to Religious Studies are explored: 1. in the way he sees the relation between transcendence and religion; 2. in the way he opens corporeity to transcendence; and 3. in the way he seems to rehabilitate motion as a topic for religious and theological discourse.Este artigo investiga o contributo do filósofo português Manuel Sérgio para as Ciências da Religião. O autor dedicou a sua longa vida académica ao estudo do desporto, mas com uma perspectiva humanística peculiar. Em vez de se focar na performance, foca-se no ser humano que se move. É isto que Manuel Sérgio propõe como cinantropologia. A transcendência é um elemento decisivo desta proposta. Spin-Orbit induced phase-shift in Bi2_{2}Se3_{3} Josephson junctions

The transmission of Cooper pairs between two weakly coupled superconductors produces a superfluid current and a phase difference; the celebrated Josephson effect. Because of time-reversal and parity symmetries, there is no Josephson current without a phase difference between two superconductors. Reciprocally, when those two symmetries are broken, an anomalous supercurrent can exist in the absence of phase bias or, equivalently, an anomalous phase shift $\varphi_0$ can exist in the absence of a superfluid current. We report on the observation of an anomalous phase shift $\varphi_0$ in hybrid Josephson junctions fabricated with the topological insulator Bi$_2$Se$_3$ submitted to an in-plane magnetic field. This anomalous phase shift $\varphi_0$ is observed directly through measurements of the current-phase relationship in a Josephson interferometer. This result provides a direct measurement of the spin-orbit coupling strength and open new possibilities for phase-controlled Josephson devices made from materials with strong spin-orbit coupling

Tetracycline: production, waste treatment and environmental impact assessment

A ocorrência frequente de fármacos no meio aquático exige a avaliação do seu impacto ambiental e seus efeitos negativos em seres humanos. Dentre os fármacos com maior potencial de impacto ambiental estão os antibióticos, que chegam ao meio ambiente através dos efluentes de indústrias químico-farmacêuticas e, principalmente, através de esgotos domésticos e criação de animais, visto que 25% a 75% dos fármacos são excretados em forma inalterada após passagem pelo Trato Gastrointestinal. Parcela significativa do consumo mundial dos antibióticos corresponde à classe das tetraciclinas, representando consumo humano de 23 kg/dia no Brasil, em 2007. Atualmente, há pesquisas de novas tetraciclinas que incorporam metais pesados (Hg, Cd, Re, Pt, Pd) às suas estruturas com o intuito de aumentar suas atividades bactericidas. As estações de tratamento de águas residuais convencionais não são capazes de degradar moléculas orgânicas complexas, diminuir a sua toxicidade e melhorar a sua biodegradabilidade. Por esta razão, as novas tecnologias, como, por exemplo, os processos oxidativos avançados, estão sendo desenvolvidos para lidar com esta demanda. Os objetivos deste trabalho são fazer uma revisão da literatura sobre os processos de obtenção de tetraciclinas, apresentar métodos de tratamento de seus resíduos e avaliar o seu impacto ambiental.The frequent occurrence of pharmaceuticals in the aquatic environment requires an assessment of their environmental impact and their negative effects in humans. Among the drugs with high harmful potential to the environment are the antibiotics that reach the environment not only, as may be expected, through the effluents from chemical and pharmaceutical industries, but mainly through the sewage and livestock; because around 25 to 75% of the ingested drugs are excreted in unchanged form after the passage through the Gastro-Intestinal Tract. Tetracycline has high world consumption, representing a human consumption of about 23 kg/day in Brazil in 2007. At the moment, researches are being made to develop new tetracycline that incorporate heavy metals (Hg, Cd, Re, Pt, Pd) to their structures in order to increase their bactericidal effect. The conventional wastewater treatment plants are not able to degrade complex organic molecules to reduce their toxicity and improve their biodegradability. For this reason new technologies, i.e., the advanced oxidation processes, are being developed to handle this demand. European theology in the contemporary period. Category, transformations and perspectives

A normalização de categorias teológicas de matriz contextual‑geográfica (tais como teologias latino‑americanas, asiáticas ou africanas) faz levantar a questão acerca de uma teologia europeia. Procura‑se, neste artigo, questionar a existência de uma categoria como teologia europeia. Esta parece não surgir, no cenário teológico, enquanto tal, razão pela qual se reconhece um subdesenvolvimento de uma tal categoria. Verifica‑se que este subdesenvolvimento estará intimamente associado a um conjunto de transformações contemporâneas tanto ao nível eclesial‑teológico como ao nível mundial‑cultural, que no fundo remetem para a perda da hegemonia cultural e cristã da Europa. Ensaia‑se, por fim, uma sumária descrição do cenário teológico‑europeu, apontando três grandes perspetivas: crítica (que recolhe de outras epistemologias métodos e análises para composição do seu discurso teológico), hermenêutica (que parte da facticidade da experiência crente‑cristã e busca sobretudo o seu sentido) e mistagógica (que parte de um pressuposto em favor do dado da fé e a esta quer conduzir).The normalization of contextual‑geographical theological categories (such as Latin‑American, Asian or African theologies) raises the question of a European Theology. This article seeks to question the existence of a category like European Theology. This category does not seem to arise in the theological setting as such, which is why an underdevelopment of such a category is recognized. This underdevelopment is closely associated with a set of contemporary transformations at both the ecclesial‑theological and world‑cultural levels, which ultimately refer to the loss of Europe’s cultural and Christian hegemony. Finally, we present a brief description of the European theological scenario, pointing out three major perspectives: critical (which assumes methods and analyzes from other epistemologies for the composition of its own theological discourse), hermeneutical (which starts from the facticity of the Belief‑Christian experience and seeks above all its meaning) and mystagogical (which starts from an assumption in favor of faith and wants to lead to it).info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

O objetivo do presente manuscrito é rever a literaturaque trata da saúde dos professores de educação física,em suas diversas ocupações profissionais (escola,academia de ginástica ou escola de esportes). A revisãopermitiu observar que os professores de educação físicafrequentemente perfazem uma carga de trabalho superiora 50 horas semanais e algumas vezes ultrapassam 70horas semanais. Além disso, trabalham em vários locais,perdem muito tempo com deslocamentos, precisam serjovens e com corpos atléticos e as mulheres têm menorremuneração financeira. Essa organização e processo detrabalho têm gerado insatisfação e inúmeros problemasde saúde nos professores. Nesse sentido, tem sidoobservado que, a despeito dos aspectos positivos daprofissão, o professor de educação física tem sofridocom o trabalho precarizado

A renovação contemporânea da teologia trinitária: contexto, aquisições e perspectivas

O debate teológico em torno da Trindade apresenta, no período contemporâneo, uma assinalável vitalidade. Vulgarmente apreendida como uma espécie de «teorema celeste», a doutrina trinitária tem vindo, com o contributo da reflexão teológica, a recuperar uma centralidade existencial correspondente à centralidade que sempre gozou na profissão do Símbolo da fé cristã. O presente artigo propõe-se apresentar uma visão global da renovação contemporânea da teologia trinitária, articulada em três momentos: 1. descrevendo o contexto teológico em que esta renovação acontece; 2. sistematizando as mais significativas aquisições teológicas desta renovação; e 3. abrindo a possíveis perspectivas para continuar a reflexão.The theological debate about the Trinity presents, in the contemporary period, a remarkable vitality. Commonly perceived as a kind of «celestial theorem», the trinitarian doctrine has come, with the contribution of the theological reflection, to recover an existencial centrality correspondent to the centrality that has always enjoyed in the Symbol of the christian faith. This article intends to present an overview of the contemporary renewal of the trinitarian theology, in three moments: 1. describing the theological context in which this renewal takes place; 2. systematizing the most significant acquisitions of this theological renewal; and 3. opening possible perspectives for further reflection

Mito e remitização em Raimon Panikkar

O mito constitui um dos eixos fundamentais da reflexão e obra de Raimon Panikkar. Tal facto tem de ser considerado num contexto mais amplo de recuperação do mito e de debate em torno da desmitologização. Panikkar, todavia, aborda o tema de uma forma original, forma essa que passa: (1) pela proposta de uma noção sui generis de mito como horizonte de sentido e inteligibilidade; (2) pelo contraponto que estabelece entre mythos e logos, elemento essencial na sua denúncia do monismo lógico dominante na cultura ocidental; (3) pela proximidade conatural entre mito e símbolo; e (4) pela verificação de uma mobilidade e plasticidade próprias do mito, que faz com que se fale de «transmitização» e «remitização» em vez de desmitologização. No presente artigo procuro expor estes quatro tópicos do pensamento de Panikkar sobre o mito.Myth is one of the cornerstones of Raimon Panikkar’s thought. This dimension should be considered in the broader context of rehabilitation of myth and of the debate around demythologisation. Panikkar actually approaches the issue in quite an original way: (1) by proposing a sui generis notion of myth as horizon of sense and intelligibility; (2) by highlighting the difference between mythos and logos, an essential element in Panikkar’s critique of the logical monism that dominates Western culture; (3) by pointing out the deep connection between myth and symbol; and (4) by recognising the existence of a mobility and plasticity in myth, which makes him talk about “transmythisation” and “remythisation” instead of demythologisation.
