The Scent is a short fiction film following Sarah, who is in a relationship with Jake, a PhD student in art history, and works as an intern for a business firm. It unfolds as a flashback. Jake fetishizes Sarahs back and dislikes her idea of having a tattoo on it. John, Sarahs boss, evades the subject of a permanent contract despite calling her a perfect employee-to-be. Julia, a new employee and a freelance photographer, offers to draw a temporary tattoo on Sarahs back after they spend a day together, shooting photographs. Tension concealed behind a quiet facade emerges in successive events: Sarah breaks up with Jake following an argument over the tattoo, Julia disappears without notice, and Sarah gets fired (or quits as she puts it). Nevertheless, in the end, she finds peace by herself

Microfinance in mena region: a partial success

    Get PDF
Microfinance is considered as effective and powerful tool for poverty eradication and women empowerment in developing countries. It helps poor by facilitating the access to financial resources; and providing a better life condition by increasing the household revenues and job creation for entrepreneurial poor. Existing literature about microfinance sector in Eastern and Southern Asia, as well as Latin America is somewhat rich, while this sector in Middle East and North African region (MENA) is merely studied and demands more investigations. The objective of this paper is trying to review the literatures and current findings about this sector in the MENA region

A Study of Written Errors of Iranian Learners: A Systematic Review

The collection of this systematic article was an attempt to show a survey of current activities in the field of error analysis in English language from 2012 to 2018 in Iran. In the country, English is being taught as Foreign Language from middle school. Khansir and Gholami Dashti (2014) mentioned that English accepted as language to pass in the examination. However, English system in this country often put on formal accuracy and teachers focus on the teaching of English grammar in their classes. Error analysis approach has been a widely discussed topic for more than 60 years over the world. However, all the findings of this paper from previous research works on error analysis can be good reasons in order to guide and help reduce such errors in the written language of Iranian students in EFL setting and the results of this work can also be used to as a guide for English learners over the world.  This article identifies and presents the major reasons leading to the English written errors among the Iranian learners. Finally, it reports the effective strategies and suggestions for helping the students to improve their English language. The researchers of this study studied 178 papers in this process and 37 of the papers were relevant

Scattering and Bound State Solutions of the Yukawa Potential within the Dirac Equation

    Get PDF
In the presence of spin symmetry case, we obtain bound and scattering states solutions of the Dirac equation for the equal scalar and vector Yukawa potentials for any spin-orbit quantum number κ. The approximate analytical solutions are presented for the bound and scattering states and scattering phase shifts

Evaluation of in vitro antiviral activity of a brown alga (Cystoseira myrica) from the Persian Gulf against herpes simplex virus type 1

The hot water extract of a brown marine alga, Cystoseira myrica, from the Persian Gulf was evaluated as an antiviral compound against KOS strain of HSV-1 in cell culture. The extract exhibited antiviral activity against herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) not only during absorption of virus to the cells, but also on post attachment stages of virus replication. The water extract of C. myrica was sterilized by filtration and autoclaving, respectively. The IC50 for filtered extract was 99 μg/ml and the IC50 for autoclaved extract was 125 μg/ml. Based on resulted selectivity index (SI) values of the extracts, which were 33.4 and 28.2 for filtered and autoclaved extracts, respectively, we found that the antiviral compound(s) in the water extract of C. myrica to be heat stable. Also, the SI values for inhibition of the post attachment stages of HSV-1 replication were 23.1 and 21.7 for filtered and autoclaved extracts, respectively. The IC50 in this phase of study were 143 and 162 μg/ml for filtered and autoclaved extracts, respectively. Therefore, C. myrica could be a good candidate as a natural source for anti-HSV-1 compound(s) isolatio
