Hasil perancangan ini berupa papan permainan yang di dalamnya mengangkat berbagai informasi mengenai rambu, marka, dan lampu lalu lintas. Papan permainan ini dapat menjadi permainan yang menarik dan informatif untuk menambah wawasan kepada masyarakat yang ingin mengenal rambu lalu lintas lebih dalam

    An interactive motion analysis framework for diagnosing and rectifying potential injuries caused through resistance training

    With the rapid increase in individuals participating in resistance training activities, the number of injuries pertaining to these activities has also grown just as aggressively. Diagnosing the causes of injuries and discomfort requires a large amount of resources from highly experienced physiotherapists. In this paper, we propose a new framework to analyse and visualize movement patterns during performance of four major compound lifts. The analysis generated will be used to efficiently determine whether the exercises are being performed correctly, ensuring anatomy remains within its functional range of motion, in order to prevent strain or discomfort that may lead to injury

    Impact of the capping layers on lateral confinement in InAs/InP quantum dots for 1.55 um laser applications srudied by magneto-photoluminescence.

    We have used magnetophotoluminescence to study the impact of different capping layer material combinations (InP, GaInAsP quaternary alloy, or both InP and quaternary alloy) on lateral confinement in InAs/InP quantum dots (QDs) grown on (311)B orientated substrates. Exciton effective masses, Bohr radii, and binding energies are measured for these samples. Conclusions regarding the strength of the lateral confinement in the different samples are supported by photoluminescence at high excitation power. Contrary to theoretical predictions, InAs QDs in quaternary alloy are found to have better confinement properties than InAs/InP QDs. This is attributed to a lack of lateral intermixing with the quaternary alloy, which is present when InP is used to (partially) cap the dots. The implications of the results for reducing the temperature sensitivity of QD lasers are discussed. ©2005 American Institute of Physic

    Profiling Gene Expression Induced by Protease-Activated Receptor 2 (PAR2) Activation in Human Kidney Cells

    Protease-Activated Receptor-2 (PAR2) has been implicated through genetic knockout mice with cytokine regulation and arthritis development. Many studies have associated PAR2 with inflammatory conditions (arthritis, airways inflammation, IBD) and key events in tumor progression (angiogenesis, metastasis), but they have relied heavily on the use of single agonists to identify physiological roles for PAR2. However such probes are now known not to be highly selective for PAR2, and thus precisely what PAR2 does and what mechanisms of downstream regulation are truly affected remain obscure. Effects of PAR2 activation on gene expression in Human Embryonic Kidney cells (HEK293), a commonly studied cell line in PAR2 research, were investigated here by comparing 19,000 human genes for intersecting up- or down-regulation by both trypsin (an endogenous protease that activates PAR2) and a PAR2 activating hexapeptide (2f-LIGRLO-NH2). Among 2,500 human genes regulated similarly by both agonists, there were clear associations between PAR2 activation and cellular metabolism (1,000 genes), the cell cycle, the MAPK pathway, HDAC and sirtuin enzymes, inflammatory cytokines, and anti-complement function. PAR-2 activation up-regulated four genes more than 5 fold (DUSP6, WWOX, AREG, SERPINB2) and down-regulated another six genes more than 3 fold (TXNIP, RARG, ITGB4, CTSD, MSC and TM4SF15). Both PAR2 and PAR1 activation resulted in up-regulated expression of several genes (CD44, FOSL1, TNFRSF12A, RAB3A, COPEB, CORO1C, THBS1, SDC4) known to be important in cancer. This is the first widespread profiling of specific activation of PAR2 and provides a valuable platform for better understanding key mechanistic roles of PAR2 in human physiology. Results clearly support the development of both antagonists and agonists of human PAR2 as potential disease modifying therapeutic agents

    Knowledge and information needs of informal caregivers in palliative care : a qualitative systematic review

    Objectives: To review current understanding of the knowledge and information needs of informal caregivers in palliative settings. Data sources: Seven electronic databases were searched for the period January 1994–November 2006: Medline, CINAHL, PsychINFO, Embase, Ovid, Zetoc and Pubmed using a meta-search engine (Metalib®). Key journals and reference lists of selected papers were hand searched. Review methods: Included studies were peer-reviewed journal articles presenting original research. Given a variety of approaches to palliative care research, a validated systematic review methodology for assessing disparate evidence was used in order to assign scores to different aspects of each study (introduction and aims, method and data, sampling, data analysis, ethics and bias, findings/results, transferability/generalizability, implications and usefulness). Analysis was assisted by abstraction of key details of study into a table. Results: Thirty-four studies were included from eight different countries. The evidence was strongest in relation to pain management, where inadequacies in caregiver knowledge and the importance of education were emphasized. The significance of effective communication and information sharing between patient, caregiver and service provider was also emphasized. The evidence for other caregiver knowledge and information needs, for example in relation to welfare and social support was weaker. There was limited literature on non-cancer conditions and the care-giving information needs of black and minority ethnic populations. Overall, the evidence base was predominantly descriptive and dominated by small-scale studies, limiting generalizability. Conclusions: As palliative care shifts into patients’ homes, a more rigorously researched evidence base devoted to understanding caregivers knowledge and information needs is required. Research design needs to move beyond the current focus on dyads to incorporate the complex, three-way interactions between patients, service providers and caregivers in end-of-life care setting

    Emotion Transfer for Hand Animation

    We propose a new data-driven framework for synthesizing hand motion at different emotion levels. Specifically, we first capture high-quality hand motion using VR gloves. The hand motion data is then annotated with the emotion type and a latent space is constructed from the motions to facilitate the motion synthesis process. By interpolating the latent representation of the hand motion, new hand animation with different levels of emotion strength can be generated. Experimental results show that our framework can produce smooth and consistent hand motions at an interactive rate

    Digital control of force microscope cantilevers using a field programmable gate array

    This report describes a cantilever controller for magnetic resonance force microscopy (MRFM) based on a field programmable gate array (FPGA), along with the hardware and software used to integrate the controller into an experiment. The controller is assembled from a low-cost commercially available software defined radio (SDR) device and libraries of open-source software. The controller includes a digital filter comprising two cascaded second-order sections ("biquads"), which together can implement transfer functions for optimal cantilever controllers. An appendix in this report shows how to calculate filter coefficients for an optimal controller from measured cantilever characteristics. The controller also includes an input multiplexer and adder used in calibration protocols. Filter coefficients and multiplexer settings can be set and adjusted by control software while an experiment is running. The input is sampled at 64 MHz; the sampling frequency in the filters can be divided down under software control to achieve a good match with filter characterisics. Data reported here were sampled at 500 kHz, chosen for acoustic cantilevers with resonant frequencies near 8 kHz. Inputs are digitized with 12 bits resolution, outputs with 14 bits. The experiment software is organized as a client and server to make it easy to adapt the controller to different experiments. The server encapusulates the details of controller hardware organization, connection technology, filter architecture, and number representation. The same server could be used in any experiment, while a different client encodes the particulars of each experiment.Comment: submitted to Review of Scientific Instrument

    Emotion Transfer for 3D Hand and Full Body Motion using StarGAN

    In this paper, we propose a new data-driven framework for 3D hand and full-body motion emotion transfer. Specifically, we formulate the motion synthesis task as an image-to-image translation problem. By presenting a motion sequence as an image representation, the emotion can be transferred by our framework using StarGAN. To evaluate our proposed method's effectiveness, we first conducted a user study to validate the perceived emotion from the captured and synthesized hand motions. We further evaluate the synthesized hand and full body motions qualitatively and quantitatively. Experimental results show that our synthesized motions are comparable to the captured motions and those created by an existing method in terms of naturalness and visual quality
