The homeopathy as a possibility for treating inflammations of the mammary gland in dairy cows

    Get PDF
The aim of the present work was to assess recurrence rates of the inflammation of the mammary gland in cattle treated either with allopathic, homeopathic or combined medications. The effect of a combination of medications was greater than effects of allopathic drugs alone. In the group of cows, where only allopathic medication was used (control group), the recurrence of inflammations was observed in 70.6 % of the cows during a three month period. Cows, which were given homoeopathic drugs in order to prevent inflammations of the mammary gland (treatment group), had a recurrence rate, which was observed to be 42% during a 3 month period of application

European climate response to tropical volcanic eruptions over the last half millennium

    Get PDF
We analyse the winter and summer climatic signal following 15 major tropical volcanic eruptions over the last half millennium based on multi-proxy reconstructions for Europe. During the first and second post-eruption years we find significant continental scale summer cooling and somewhat drier conditions over Central Europe. In the Northern Hemispheric winter the volcanic forcing induces an atmospheric circulation response that significantly follows a positive NAO state connected with a significant overall warm anomaly and wetter conditions over Northern Europe. Our findings compare well with GCM studies as well as observational studies, which mainly cover the substantially shorter instrumental period and thus include a limited set of major eruptions

The pharmaceutical distribution system in Europe is undergoing a long-term change. Wholesale companies join together to form both horizontally and vertically integrated structures. Pharmacies, formerly owned almost exclusively by pharmacists, are becoming part of the chain thanks to the liberalization of operating conditions. The chains are expanding successfully due to economies of scale and purchasing power for negotiation with suppliers. Independent pharmacies are becoming part of virtual chains to better compete with chains. The assortment previously reserved to pharmacies is also marketed in food stores or gas stations due to legislative changes. E-pharmacies and e-shops compete in the area of over-the-counter pharmaceuticals and the complementary range of pharmacies. The Czech state has been quite successful in addressing its sub-optimal position and maintaining the balance on the pharmaceutical market so that pharmaceutical costs do not increase uncontrollably and at the same time to avoid dropouts due to arbitration or stopping imports due to low prices. The wholesale segment operates reliably in an oligopolistic market structure with an average margin of less than three per cent. The main Czech pharmacy chains achieve a higher than usual profit. The state should start organizing electronic auctions for selected groups of medicines, to strengthen competition on the supply side. The share of EU chain pharmacies is 10.4% of the total number of public pharmacies. The legislative framework does not allow the formation of pharmacy chains in eight EU countries. Chains integrate more than 50% of community pharmacies in six EU countries. We expect the continuing concentration of pharmacy chains should not bring about a reduction in the pharmacy margin and thus reduce the income of independent pharmacies. The Canvas model can serve as a map of possible extensions to existing activities or the creation of a new business model. An independent pharmacy can leverage its customers' knowledge and offer marketing solutions to solve the problems that burden their patients most. The number of pharmacies is stable and the market for medicinal products is growing slightly. The comparative analysis of a sample of ten pharmacies confirms that seven companies have achieved very good financial results. Cost reductions can help to achieve a positive business outcome for the other two. Only one of the pharmacies is over-indebted and threatened by insolvency. We did not find any significant negative changes in selected accounting items in the reporting period. The future perspectives for operating independent pharmacies seem to be positive based on analytical results and expected changes in the near future

The work deals with the occurence of unusual accompanying raw materials for the preparation of mineral pigments in the area of the North- Bohemian brown coal basin, ways of using natural inorganic pigments derived from the clays of volcanic-detrititus strata in the building industry, their application as a dye in concrete and mortar mixtures , eventually, for coloring plastics. In the experimental part, there is a technology of pigmental raw material processing described. The aim of the experimental part was verification of the proposed HC technology to achieve suitable granular composition in the pigmental raw material "Bolus" ,and application of the obtained pigment in the building industry. In conclusion, the thesis summarizes the outcome of experimental work ,and the application of produced pigment in the building industry.Prezenční542 - Institut hornického inženýrství a bezpečnostivelmi dobř

Byla studována syntéza terciálních esterů kyseliny jantarové a jejich vliv při použití jako výchozích látek na syntézu DPP pigmentů. Syntéza terciálních esterů byla zkoušena několika způsoby, přes dichlorid kyseliny jantarové reakcí s alkoholem, reakcí dehydratovného alkoholu (alkenu) s kyselinou jantarovou a bazicky katalyzovanou reesterifikací difenyl esteru kyseliny jantarové. Nejlepší vytěžek reakce a čistotu produktu poskytuje bazicky katalyzovaná reesterifikace difenyl esteru hyseliny jantarové.

Random number generation on FPGA platform

    No full text
The bachelor's thesis deals with the implementation of a hardware random number generator on FPGA platform. It tries to explain the basic architecture and possible FPGA configuration. In the theoretical part, the principles of random number generators are further described and then the statistical tests through which we evaluate these generators. In the following section, the existing generators designed for FPGA platforms are summarized and analyzed. A closer measurement of freely available TRNG is also underway. In the final part, there is a description of the implementation of the own random number generator. Randomness verification takes place through the NIST statistical test suite

The aim of the experiment was tested the immunomodulation effect of brown seaweed on non-specific blood parameters of immunity in Sumavka sheep. Preparation was supplemented 225 days in two groups of six months old sheep. Average numbers of blood parameters in experimental and control group: phagocytic activity of neutrophils – 85,88 % and 85,94 %, bactericidity of blood 55,59 % and 67,67 %. Between groups weren’t statistically signifi-cant differences
