Pherekydes von Athen: Struktur der Historiai (oder: Der längere Weg von Athen bis Alexandria)

    Get PDF
The original structure of Pherekydes’ mythographical collection remains a controversial issue. Its rearrangement in the Hellenistic period did not merely consist of a new division of the books by taking the length of the rolls into account. The article attempts to show that the overall structure of the Historiai underwent a major revision in the library of Alexandria. The author advances the theory that Pherekydes’ work wasreorganized into an encyclopaedia of historiai arranged alphabetically. The original structure of Pherekydes’ mythographical collection remains a controversial issue. Collated for the first time, the manuscript Edimburgensis Adv. 18.7.15 challenges the editions of Eratosthenes' Catasterisms published so far. This codex, an autograph by Maximus Planudes, was corrected by a second hand (most probably by Demetrius Triclinius). On the other side, the manuscript Parisinus Graecus 1310 contains a brief extract from the Triclinian edition of the Catasterisms

Treballs Finals de Grau de Física, Facultat de Física, Universitat de Barcelona. Any: 2021. Tutor: Bruno Juliá DíazWe study the time evolution of a particle in a double-well potential using IBM quan- tum computers and a classical computer. Firstly, we go over the methods for the numerical sim- ulation and the quantum computer implementation. As an example, we simulate the system in a 4-point space using 2-qubit circuits. Finally, we compare the results obtained with the di erent methods and discuss their dissimilarities and sources of error

The manuscript Parisinus Graecus 1310 contains a brief fragment of the Epitome of the Katasterismoi, attributed to Eratosthenes. Except some variants from the textus receptus, it presents a completely reelaborated chapter (43); in this chapter, the exceptional irregularity of the Epitome, relative to the divine correspondences of the first two planets included in the list of five, has been corrected to adapt the epithets of the planets Faiuou and Faethou to Saturn and Jupiter

The genealogical form used by early Greek logographoi plays a major role in the development of historiographic reason. By tracing ‘full genealogies’ that link the spatium mythicum to the immediate past, Pherecydes of Athens seems to take a step forward, compared to the Hesiodic Katalogoi or Acusilaus. However, subsequent historiography, with its interest in the spatium historicum, relegates Pherecidean genealogies to the mythographic tradition
