Three durum wheat (Nasr, MaĂąli and Salim), two bread wheat (Tahent and Utique) and two barley varieties (Manel and Kounouz) were assessed in two different semi arid locations under rainfed conditions in 2012-2013 growing season for yield related traits performances, stability and adaptability parameters. For determining adaptability and stability of genotypes, regression coefficient (bi) and variance of deviation from regression (SÂČdi) are used. The evaluation was based on five agro-morphological traits: tiller number/plant, spike number/m2, plant number/m2, 1000 kernel weight and grain number/ spike. Variance analysis indicated a highly significant (p<0.05) effect of locations and genotypes for all studied traits. Also, the interaction between the genotypes and environments found to be highly significant (p<0.001) for all studied traits except the tiller number/plant. Analysis of stability showed that there were differences in stability performances among the genotypes for the traits tested. The unstability for spike number/mÂČ, plant number/m 2, 1000kernel weight and grain number/spike among the genotypes was originated from the high mean squares of deviation from regression. Analysis of AMMI model showed that Principal Components (PC) Analysis indicated that the two PCs explained 78.17% (PC1 = 41.51% and PC2 = 36.66%) of the total variation. Results showed that the group of genotypes Nasr, Tahent, Kounouz and Manel having wide adaptability and could be recommended for cultivation across diverse environments

Sarcoidosis is a multisystemic disorder of unknown etiology which is characterized by the formation of  non-caseating granulomas in involved tissues. Cardiac involvement is one of the least common manifestations and it can occur at any point of time during the course of sarcoidosis. Here we present the case of 2 patients with known sarcoidosis who develop cardiac abnormalities in the absence of known primary cardiac cause. In our report, we would like to draw attention to the importance of considering heart involvement in any case with systemic sarcoidosis especially in young age.Key words: Cardiac sarcoidosis, Sarcoidosis, Ventricular arrhythmia

    Get PDF

    Get PDF

ObjectivePreterm children can experience cognitive and behavioral difficulties being able to be responsible for school difficulties going to the academic failure. The aim of this study was to assess the cognitive process while insisting on the early screening from the preschool age.MethodsThe data arise from the study of files and from the neuropsychological evaluations realized with the premature children followed in a regular way to the service. The premature children with or without motor disabilities more 4 and a half-years, old deficit integrated pre-school and ordinary school were included. The children with severe disabilities in upper limbs and the children having a mental deficiency were excluded.Results30 middle-aged children 7 years 5 months have been included. The prematurity is between 27–34. The born term has an effect on the performances in particular on attention and visuo-spatial capacities.ConclusionThe prematurity is a risk factor of the school future of the child. There is specially a negative impact on visuo-spatial and visuo-motor processes and those children present social and behavioral difficulties. It is mandatory to include the neuropsychological evaluation in any follow-up of premature child thanks to tests validated in the Tunisian context. It remains of great importance to identify effective interventions to improve the long-term neurocognitive outcomes

BackgroundCardiac involvement in ankylosing spondylitis is common. We have tried through this study to analyze the cardiovascular events among 50 patients with ankylosing spondylitis.MethodsA retrospective study including 50 patients with ankylosing spondylitis. All patients underwent a complete physical examination with a heart and lung auscultation and an electro-cardiogram (ECG). Transthoracic ultrasound was performed whenever there was an abnormal physical examination and/or ECG.ResultsThe study included 47 men and 3 women, the sex ratio is 15,6. The average age of onset was 26±7 years. The mode of onset is axial in 95% of cases (low back pain and/or buttock). The extra-articular manifestations are present in 54% of cases. Cardiac involvement is present in 9 cases (18% of cases). The reason for consultation is dyspnea in 2 patients. In other cases, cardiac involvement was discovered incidentally. Aortic regurgitation was noted in 4 patients. Mitral insufficiency was found in 3 cases. Two patients have predominantly septal hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and one patient presented an array of pulmonary insufficiency. The average time of onset of cardiac involvement was 8±5 years. All patients were put under special medical treatment of their heart, with good clinical outcome.ConclusionCardiac involvement in ankylosing spondyllitis is seen more frequently in men, especially in the old cases. A close relationship between time to onset of aortic insufficiency and duration of disease progression was found. It would be responsible for one third of deaths of patients. It was significantly more frequent in HLA B27 positive patients (especially complete atrioventricular block and aortic insufficiency)

This paper introduces a remote Photoplethysmography (rPPG), which is used to estimate human heart rate withoutany physical contact, has been extensively applied in multiple fields like medical diagnosis, analysis of humanemotions, rehabilitation training programs, biometric, and fitness assessments. The rPPG signals are usually ex-tracted from facial videos. However, it is still a challenging task due to several contributing factors, e.g., variationin skin tone, lighting condition, and subject’s motion. Accordingly, in this work, a novel approach based on deeplearning skin detection method and the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is employed to precisely estimate heartrate from facial videos. In the proposed method, by implementing the DWT, the signal is decomposed into approx-imations and details parts thereby it helps in analyzing it at different frequency bands with different resolutions. The results derived from the experiments show that our proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art methodson the UBFC-RPPG database

The Fe2O3/TiO2 nanocomposite was synthesized on FTO subtract via hydrothermal method. The crystal structure, morphology, band structure of the heterojunction, behaviors of charge carriers and the redox ability were characterized by XRD, HR-TEM, absorption spectra, PL, cyclic voltammetry and transient photocurrent spectra. The as-prepared Fe2O3/TiO2 photocatalysts with distinctive structure and great stability was characterized and investigated for the degradation of methylene blue (MB) dye in aqueous solution. The ability of the photocatalyst for generating reactive oxygen species, including O2− and.OH was investigated. It was revealed that the combination of the two oxides (Fe2O3 and TiO2) nano-heterojunction could enhance the visible response and separate photogenerated charge carriers effectively. Therefore, the remarkable photocatalytic activity of Fe2O3/TiO2 nanostructures for MB degradation was ascribed to the enhanced visible light absorption and efficient interfacial transfer of photogenerated electrons from to Fe2O3 to TiO2 due to the lower energy gap level of Fe2O3/TiO2 hybrid heterojunctions as evidenced by the UV–Vis and photoluminescence studies. The decrease of the energy gap level of Fe2O3/TiO2 resulted in the inhibition of electron–hole pair recombination for effective spatial charge separation, thus enhancing the photocatalytic reactions. Based on the obtained results, a possible mechanism for the improved photocatalytic performance associated with Fe2O3/TiO2 was proposed. The Fe2O3/TiO2 nanocomposite has a specific capacity of 82 F.g−1 and shows a higher capacitance than Fe2O3

Introduction: Erythema nodosum (EN) is the most common type of panniculitis. It may be idiopathic or secondary to various etiologies. However, the occurrence of erythema nodosum in malignant hemopathy had rarely been reported. Case report: A 42 year-old woman presented with a four week history of recurrent multiple painful erythematous nodules developed on the lower limbs associated with arthralgia of the ankles and fever. The clinical features of skin lesions with contusiform color evolution allowed establishing the diagnosis of EN. No underlying cause was found. The skin lesions were improved with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and colchicine. Three months later, the patient consulted for recurrence of EN associated with fever, inflammatory polyarthralgia and hepatosplenomegaly. The peripheral blood count revealed pancytopenia. A bone marrow examination confirmed the diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia type 2. Initiation of chemotherapy was followed by the complete disappearance of skin lesions of EN. Conclusion: Paraneoplastic erythema nodosum is a rare entity. In the literature, a few cases of association with leukemia have been reported. Exploration for solid neoplasms or hemopathy in case of recurrent EN or resistance to conventional treatment should be systemati
