Epidemiological data of rabies in our country are shown In the Chapter 1, detaching the important that has the epidemiological knowledge for any plan against maladies. Antirabic vaccines and therapeutic to be used are also treated. Moreover, a theoric study about the necessary budget and ways to implement it, it’s done in basic to global estimation in the deferent areas of the country. In the Chapter IV, themes about Sanitary Education, according to operative level, are elaborated; with according of the proposal objectives, for the regional and chronological programming. Sequence analysis, cloning and over-expression of an endoxylanase from the alkaliphilic Bacillus halodurans

    No full text
The BhMIR32 xyn11A gene, encoding an extracellular endoxylanase of potential interest in bio-bleaching applications, was amplified from Bacillus halodurans MIR32 genomic DNA. The protein encoded is an endo-1,4-beta-xylanase belonging to family 11 of glycosyl hydrolases. Its nucleotide sequence was analysed and the mature peptide was subcloned into pET22b(+) expression vector. The enzyme was over-expressed in a high density Escherichia coli culture as a soluble and active protein, and purified in a single step by immobilised metal ion affinity chromatography with a specific activity of 3073 IU mg(-1)

High endo-β-1,4-d-glucanase activity in a broad pH range from the alkali-tolerant Nocardiopsis sp. SES28

The strain SES28 was isolated from an indoor contaminated agar plate during a screening program for alkaliphilic CM-cellulose-degrading bacteria. It showed a prominent clear hydrolysis of the substrate at pH 10. The 16S rDNA analysis related it to the genus Nocardiopsis. Nocardiopsis sp. SES28 was able to grow at pH values up to 10.5, the major biomass being produced at pH 10, and pH 8 was the optimum for b-1,4-glucanase production. The optimum pH for b-1,4-glucanase activity was 9.0, and it was higher than 60% throughout the pH range 6.5–10.0; showing 94% of its a relative activity at pH 10. The feature of this bacterium to produce b-1,4-glucanase active in a broad pH-range might be useful for detergent- and textile-processing technologies.Fil: Walker, D.. Effect of Tibolone on Bone Mineral Density in Postmenopausal Women: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

    No full text
Low bone mineral density (BMD) on postmenopausal women causes bone fragility and fracture risk. Tibolone seems to prevent bone loss. Therefore, this systematic review with meta-analysis synthesizes the tibolone effect on BMD percent change in lumbar spine (LS), femoral neck (FN), and total hip (TH) in postmenopausal women. Controlled trials that provided tibolone evidence on the efficacy of tibolone in preventing loss of BMD were included. Regarding the included studies, a pooled mean difference (MD) with 95% confidence intervals (95%CI) was estimated to determine the BMD percentage change. Eleven studies were identified and eight were included in the quantitative analysis. Tibolone at a dose of 2.5 mg increased BMD compared with non-active controls at 24 months in LS (MD 4.87%, 95%CI: 4.16–5.57, and MD 7.35%, 95%CI: 2.68–12.01); and FN (MD 4.85%, 95%CI: 1.55–8.15, and 4.21%, 95%CI: 2.99–5.42), with Hologic and Lunar scanners, respectively. No difference was observed when tibolone 2.5 mg dose was compared with estrogen therapy (ET) at 24 months, LS (MD −0.58%, 95%CI: −3.77–2.60), FN (MD −0.29%, 95%CI: −1.37–0.79), and TH (MD −0.12%, 95%CI: −2.28–2.53). Therefore, tibolone increases BMD in LS and FN compared to non-active controls, and there was no showed difference with ET
