Coleolaelaps ferdowsi Joharchi sp. n. (Acari: Laelapidae) was collected associated with the larval stage of Polyphylla sp. (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) on roots of peach trees in Neishabour, Khorasan Razavi, Iran. This new species is described and illustrations provided
An annotated catalogue of the Iranian Anthocoridae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Cimicomorpha)
A total of 47 anthocorid species (Heteroptera: Anthocoridae) from 10 genera, including Amphiareus Distant, 1904, Anthocoris Fallén, 1814, Buchananiella Reuter, 1884, Cardiastethus Fieber, 1860, Dufouriellus Kirkaldy, 1906, Elatophilus Reuter, 1884, Lyctocoris Hahn, 1836, Orius Wolff, 1811, Temnostethus Fieber, 1860, and Xylocoris Dufour, 1831, are catalogued from Iran. Anthocoris golestanicus sp. n. (Hemiptera, Heteroptera, Anthocoridae) a new species from Iran
Anthocoris golestanicus sp. n. (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Anthocoridae) is described from Golestan province (northern Iran). The species was collected on Rubus hyrcanus (Linnaeus) (Rosaceae) as the predator of Aphis idaei van der Goot, 1912 (Hemiptera: Aphididae) and Aleurocanthus zizyphi Priesner et Hosny, 1934 (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae). Updated list of Iranian Anthocoris is given. With this new species, the total number of Iranian Anthocoris reaches to 16 species
Annotated catalogue of the Iranian broad-headed bugs (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Alydidae)
The fauna of Iranian broad-headed bugs (Coreoidea: Alydidae) is studied in this paper. A total of twenty-one species of eleven genera (Alydus Fabricius, 1803, Camptopus Amyot & Serville, 1843, Euthetus Dallas, 1852, Heegeria Reuter, 1881, Megalotomus Fieber, 1860, Mirperus Stål, 1860, Nariscus Stål, 1865, Nemausus Stål, 1866, Riptortus Stål, 1859, Tenosius Stål, 1860, Leptocorisa Latreille, 1829) belonging to two subfamilies (Alydinae, Leptocorisinae) are listed for Iranian fauna. Out of them, three species, Megalotomus junceus (Scopoli, 1763), M. ornaticeps (Stål, 1858) and Leptocorisa oratoria (Fabricius, 1794), are new records for Iran.Fil: Ghahari, Hassan. Promyialges italicus sp. nov. (Astigmata: Epidermoptidae) with redescriptions of mites of the families Epidermoptidae and Cheyletidae (Prostigmata) associated with Pseudolynchia canariensis (Diptera: Hippoboscidae) from Iran and Italy
Pseudolynchia canariensis (Diptera: Hippoboscidae) is a parasite of pigeons but also a host for hyperparasitic mites
living on the same avian hosts. Four species and subspecies of mites found on this louse fly, Myialges anchora,
Promyialges italicus sp. nov., Promyialges lophortyx (Astigmata: Epidermoptidae), and Ornithocheyletia hallae
hallae (Prostigmata: Cheyletidae), are described or redescribed. One new species of feather mites is described from
Tuscany, Pisa, Italy, from Pseudolynchia canariensis (Mcquart, 1840) from Columba livia (Gmelin, 1789). This is
the first report of the genera Myialges and Ornithocheyletia for the Iranian fauna, while the subspecies
Ornithocheyletia hallae hallae represents a new report for Asia. Specimens of O. hallae from populations in Italy and
in Iran differ morphologically. According to these findings, we recognized two subspecies, Ornithocheyletia hallae
hallae and O. hallae simili
Ethics and accuracy in scientific researches with emphasize on taxonomic works
Research is one of those highly complex and subtle activities that usually remain quite unformulated in the minds of those who practise them. This is probably why most scientists think that it is not possible to give nay formal instruction in how to do research. Additionally, training in research must be largely self-training,preferably with the guidance of an experienced scientist in the handling of the actual investigation. Scientific research, which is simply the search for new knowledge, appeals especially to people who are individualists and their method vary from one person to another. A policy followed by one scientist may not be suitable for another, and different methods are required in different branches of science. However, there are some basic principles and mental techniques that are commonly used in most types of investigation, at least in the biological sphere. Honesty and morals are the first step in all scientific researches and a researcher must consider it in all stages of a scientific work. The role and importance of accuracy and honesty in taxonomy and systematic is more than other biological sciences. For having the honesty in scientific researches, learning the principals of ethics is needed for all the researchers and students. Therefore, this paper deals with the ethics in science and technology and also important comments on taxonomy.Facultad de Ciencias Naturales y Muse
