Análisis por condición de servicio causado por vibración vertical inducida por peatones en estructuras

Civil engineering structures such as grandstands, slabs, footbridges and staircases have reported unacceptable vertical vibration when they are affected by human activities. Even when most of these structures are designed according to current guidelines and design codes, there are still misunderstandings in the human-structure interaction effects that, in some cases, may increase the vibration response compromising the structural serviceability performance. As a result, the serviceability load conditions due to pedestrian activities control, in most cases, the design for these structures. Therefore, a systematic overview regarding vertical pedestrian-structure interaction is carried out to demonstrate the need for a realistic analysis to properly incorporate these effects toward more rational structural designs. The discussion establishes a body of knowledge regarding pedestrian loads and structural responses, yielding the potential for more rational approaches to improving the analysis and design of pedestrian structures.Estructuras civiles tales como tribunas, losas, puentes peatonales y escaleras están presentando vibraciones verticales inaceptables cuando se ven afectadas por actividades humanas. Por lo tanto, todavía no se tiene claridad sobre los efectos producidos por la interacción entre el ser humano y la estructura que, en algunos casos, pueden llegar a aumentar la respuesta estructural comprometiendo el desempeño para condiciones de servicio. Un examen a las normas y códigos de diseño existentes, arroja una amplia gama de resultados, lo que demuestra que no son consistentes cuando las estructuras están expuestas a cargas inducidas por peatones. Este estudio tiene como objetivo identificar los mecanismos de vibración, los modelos matemáticos y los métodos para abordar la vibración vertical excesiva en las estructuras peatonales. Este análisis establece un conjunto de recomendaciones sobre las cargas que producen los peatones y las respuestas estructurales que pueden producir, lo que genera el potencial para futuros enfoques más racionales que mejoren el análisis y el diseño de estructuras peatonales

Spatial location patterns of Spanish manufacturing firms

In this paper, we evaluate the spatial location patterns of Spanish manufacturing firms in each industry. We use a distance-based method, Ripley’s K function, which allows us to treat space as continuous. With ‘complete spatial randomness’ as benchmark, every sector presents significant concentration whatever the distance considered. If we use the locations of all manufacturing firms as benchmark, we find dispersion in some sectors and concentration in others, finding also differences in the spatial scale at which clustering occurs. Finally, the use of cities as benchmark reveals that not only is ‘first nature’ among the location determinants of manufacturing firms but they also include the self-reinforcing advantages of ‘second nature’

Trasplante cardíaco en pacientes portadores de asistencia ventricular izquierda de larga duración: «trucos y consejos»

Performing heart transplantation in patients with long-term ventricular assist devices (LVADs) is both a surgical and medical management challenge. Given the lack of donors, heart transplants under these conditions are increasing, so it is necessary to plan the entire process starting from the implantation of the device, which will allow to foresee possible complications and their respective solutions, thus obtaining best results. We describe the guidelines to be taken into account in LVAD implantation (access, location and route of the outflow graft, driveline, closure), as well as in the planning and performance of the transplant, making a brief comment on two important aspects about the usual hemodynamic management in these cases. Se ofrece, primeramente, un debate historiográfico sobre el verdadero impacto que tuvo el periodo de inestabilidad de la dinastía de los Severos. En el apartado del cambio de las ciudades, se analiza la tradicional visión de decadencia, así como, en el apartado social, el evergetismo y la reducción de funciones del magistrado tras la creación de la figura del curator. Muchos de los aspectos tratados en este trabajo forman parte de la historia del Bajo Imperio, por lo que en la historiografía tradicional siempre han tenido una consideración peyorativa que no refleja la realidad tal y como era.Over the years, the development of the studies of the so-called Crisis of the Third Century in Hispania has allowed us to widen our perception of this tumultuous stage of the history of Rome and how the cities have changed. It is offered, in the first place, a historiographical debate about the true impact of the period of instability of the Severan dynasty. In the change of the cities section, it is analyzed the traditional view of decay, as well as, in the social section, the evergetism and the reduction of the functions of the magistrates after the creation of the figure of the curator. Disseny d'una gàbia de seguretat per a un tot terreny

Aquest treball de fi de grau tracta sobre el disseny d’una gàbia de seguretat per a un vehicle tot terreny al qual prèviament se li ha desmuntat el sostre rígid que equipava originalment. Es busca que la gàbia sigui desmuntable, permetent tornar a la configuració original, i homologable per poder superar una inspecció tècnica de vehicles (ITV). S’han estudiat i tingut en compte les normatives que afecten a la homologació i al disseny d’aquests accessoris. D’igual manera, s’informa de la documentació requerida per procedir a sol·licitar una homologació d’un accessori d’aquest tipus. També es tracta el tema de la unió dels perfils tubulars combinant dos mètodes diferents de soldadura i la solució adoptada per fixar l’estructura en el vehicle. Es proposa detalladament una possible manera de dissenyar el model en 3D mitjançant el suport d’un software de disseny assistit per ordinador (CAD), així com també de realitzar el posterior anàlisi basat en el mètode dels elements finits (FEM) amb el suport d’un software de enginyeria assistida per ordinador (CAE). Inclou el cost estimat per la materialització del projecte. Síntesi d'animacions amb físiques i recuperació de l'equilibri

En aquest treball de fi de grau s'estudia com sintetitzar animacions dinàmiques, per a personatges bípedes, dins l'àmbit dels gràfics per computador en temps real. La solució proposada consisteix a desenvolupar diferents sistemes, que han de treballar en sinergia, a fi de produir animacions conscients de l'entorn que les envolta. Concretament, un sistema controlador de ragdolls basat en forces de torque, una solució de cinemàtica inversa per a cossos humans i un algorisme per a monitorar el grau de desequilibri d'un personatge. Utilitzant aquests sistemes, se simula una resposta biomecànica complexa com és la recuperació de l'equilibri.This bachelor's thesis aims to study how to synthetize dynamic motion, for biped characters, in the field of real-time computer graphics. The solution proposed involves the development of different systems, that must work together, in order to produce animations that are aware of the surrounding environment. Particularly, a torque-based ragdoll controller, a full-body inverse kinematics solution and an equilibrium tracking algorithm. Valor de cambio sobre valor de uso. El proceso de mercantilización del tiempo libre en la era de la sobreacumulación capitalista.

Curs: 2020-2021, Tutor: David Casassas MarquésDesde 1973 el sistema capitalista experimenta un problema endémico de sobreacumulación como consecuencia de la ostentación de sobrantes del capital aislados de la circulación mercantil. El proceso de re-regulación neoliberal orquestado por la clase capitalista propició la inclusión de productos ociosos al circuito mercante a través de la apropiación de activos alejados de las lógicas de mercado. Pero para que el tiempo libre se convirtiera en un objeto para la explotación capitalista capaz de ayudar a contrarrestar los problemas endémicos de sobreacumulación surgidos en la reproducción ampliada, la clase acaudalada sujetó a los individuos al aparato de producción mediante la imposición de los imaginarios y prácticas asociados a la figura del Homo Economicus. Con la reproducción de la mentalidad de mercado, consecuencia del proceso de re-regulación neoliberal iniciado a mediados de los años ‘70, la razón productivista gobierna la realidad social de los sujetos provocando que la obtención de un valor añadido envuelva el tiempo libre en un proceso de mercantilización. Por todo ello, la adquisición de un valor de cambio imposibilita el disfrute de un tiempo desligado de las lógicas de mercado. Este hecho niega la posibilidad de ostentar un tiempo libre como fin en sí mismo. Esta investigación busca estudiar el proceso de mercantilización del tiempo libre iniciado a mediados de 1970 como consecuencia del proceso de re-regulación neoliberal. Para ello, elaboraremos, mediante una investigación bibliográfica, un análisis situado en el campo de la teoría social cuya finalidad es ofrecer un conjunto de proposiciones interrelacionadas capaces de dar respuesta a la pregunta de investigación y a los objetivos planteados en este trabajo final de máster
