Sizing Problem of Intermediate Storages under Stochastic Operational Conditions

The operation of intermediate storages is investigated in this paper. The input process is supposed to be a batch process and the output process is assumed to be a continuous one. The operational conditions in the input process are stochastic with respect to time and the amount of material. The goal is the determination of the required size of the buffer to a given reliability. For the solution, an auxiliary function is introduced and an integral equation is set up for it. Its analytical solution is presented in a special case. In general cases we present the approximation of the reliability with the help of a hyperbolic tangent family. We compare the exact and approximate solutions and present the solution of the sizing problem. We investigate the effects of dispersions to present the uncertainties

Discrete Models for Intermediate Storages under Stochastic Operational Conditions

In this paper we investigate the operation of an intermediate storage assuming discrete stochastic operational conditions. The storage operates as a buffer. The material is collected into it and is withdrawn from the buffer for production. Deterministic constant withdrawal rate is supposed and the filling process is described by discrete random variables. The main question addressed here is the probability of material shortage as a function of the initial amount of material. For this purpose, an auxiliary function is defined and a difference equation is set for it. In a special case we present the solution of the difference equation, we compare the exact and simulated results, and we propose a method for the determination of unknown constants. We apply the results for expressing the initial amount of material necessary to a given reliability level. Finally, we compare the results of the discrete model with those of the continuous one

INFLUENCE OF ABIOTIC DISORDERS ON NUTRITIONAL VALUES OF TOMATO (SOLANUM LYCOPERSICUM)

Susceptibility to abiotic disorders could play a key role in the utilization of landraces of tomato. These races have been abandoned due to non-compatibility to today’s intensive agriculture. As there is dissatisfaction on present varieties and hybrids in the context of flavor and nutritional value, landraces could be a viable alternative for the enhancement of these parameters either “per se” or as breeding background. However, frequent occurrence of abiotic disorders causes yield losses. The hypothesis of the present study is that removal of irregular fruit parts positively influences the nutritional profile of tomato in the context of investigated parameters.In the present study influence of abiotic disorders on total soluble solids (TSS), acid (TA) and lycopene content was investigated on six Hungarian tomato landraces and two commercial varieties. Abiotic disorders occurred were mainly cracking, green shoulder, sunburst and catfacing. Propagation materials were provided by Plant Biodiversity Center Tápiószele. The experiment is supported by Research Institute of Organic Agriculture, ÖMKi. Our results showed that abiotically disordered plant parts have an impact on TSS, TA and lycopene content, however, in case of investigated accessions and varieties the difference was seldom significant. Only in case of TSS a tendency can be experienced, where all samples showed lower results after the removal of abiotically disordered plant parts. In case of TA and lycopene content no tendencies could have been withdrawn

Az uborka (Cucumis sativus) érése során bekövetkező beltartalmi értékváltozások = Changes in nutritional values during the ripening of cucumber (Cucumis sativus)

Az uborka (Cucumis sativus) a magyar lakosság által egyik legnagyobb mennyiségben fogyasztott zöldségféle. A nemzetközi irodalomban számtalan olyan cikk lelhető fel, amelyek más élelmiszerekkel összehasonlítva vizsgálják a vitaminokat, az öszszes polifenoltartalom, valamint az antioxidáns-aktivitás értékeit, ugyanakkor a termés érettségének függvényében nem történtek vizsgálatok. Célunk volt, hogy az érés egyes stádiumban meghatározzuk a peroxidáz (POX)-, glutathion-S-transzferáz enzim (GST) aktivitásának változásait, valamint az összes klorofilltartalom és antioxidáns-aktivitás alakulását. Eredményeink alapján az érés előrehaladtával a peroxidáz-aktivitás csökken, míg a GST-aktivitás nő. A klorofilltartalom folyamatosan csökken, míg az antioxidáns-kapacitás lényegében nem változik. Mindezek alapján elmondható, hogy bár az uborkában igen jelentős növényélettani változások zajlanak, a táplálkozástudományi paraméterek változásai nem követik egyöntetűen az enzimek aktivitásváltozásait. Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) is one of the most preferred vegetable among the Hungarian population. Altought many article can be found about the vitamin, polyphenol content and antioxidant-activity comparison of cucumber with other vegetables, there are only limited available information about the physiological and nutritional changes of cucumber during the ripening processes of the fruit. One of our aim was to study the peroxidase (POX)-, glutathione-S-transferase - enzyme (GST) activity changes, which indicate the physiological status of the plant tissues. Chlorophyll content and antioxidant-activity alteration via the ripening processes were also assessed. Our results indicate that POX-activity decreases dramatically, while the GST-activity continously increases as the fruit growing. Chlorophyll content decrease, while the antioxidant-activity doesn’t change significantly. From our result we can make the conclusion that although the physiological status of the cucumber fruit change by the ongoing ripening processes; it doesn’t come along with the change of the nutritional value alteration

A Budapesti Nagybani Piacon a hazai fejes káposzta 72 forint/kilogramm ára 3 százalékkal, a vörös káposzta 125 forint/kilogramm ára 11 százalékkal volt alacsonyabb az 5. héten az elmúlt év azonos hetében mértnél. A kelkáposzta 140 forint/kilogramm ára 56 százalékkal csökkent. A belpiaci sárgarépát és a petrezselyemgyökeret csak kilogrammos kiszerelésben értékesítették az 5. héten, az előbbit 90 forint/kilogramm áron, ami 17 százalékkal, az utóbbit 300 forint/kilogramm áron, ami 25 százalékkal maradt el az előző év azonos hetének árától. Az alma 2018. 5. heti átlagára emelkedett az előző esztendő ugyanezen hetében jellemzőhöz képest, a növekedés mértéke 17 és 30 százalék között mozgott. A belföldi dióbél ára 3,7 százalékkal 2800 forint/kilogrammra emelkedett a vizsgált héten. Az év első öt hetében 28 százalékkal magasabb (396 forint/kilogramm) átlagáron értékesítették a banánt, mint egy esztendővel ezelőtt. Az ár emelkedését az okozta, hogy a jelentős banántermesztő országokban csökkent a termés mennyisége. A citrom nagykereskedelmi ára átlagosan 2 százalékkal 386 forint/kilogrammra emelkedett
