Measurement of Trilinear Gauge Couplings in e+ee^+ e^- Collisions at 161 GeV and 172 GeV

    Get PDF
Trilinear gauge boson couplings are measured using data taken by DELPHI at 161~GeV and 172~GeV. Values for WWVWWV couplings (V=Z,γV=Z, \gamma) are determined from a study of the reactions \eeWW\ and \eeWev, using differential distributions from the WWWW final state in which one WW decays hadronically and the other leptonically, and total cross-section data from other channels. Limits are also derived on neutral ZVγZV\gamma couplings from an analysis of the reaction \eegi

    A Precise measurement of the partial decay width ratio R(b)**0 = Gamma(b anti-b) / Gamma(had)

The partial decay width of the Z to b (b) over bar quark pairs has been measured by the DELPHI detector at LEP using data taken in the years 1992 to 1995. Decays of b-hadrons were tagged by several methods using tracks with large impact parameters and/or reconstructed secondary vertices; complemented by event shape variables. Combining these methods in a multivariate analysis the value Gamma(Z --> b (b) over bar)/Gamma(Z --> had) = 0.21634 +/- 0.00067(stat) +/- 0.00060(syst) was obtained, where the c (c) over bar production fraction was fixed to its Standard Model value. Update of the search for supersymmetric particles in scenarios with gravitino LSP and sleptons NLSP

    Get PDF
An update of the search for sleptons, neutralinos and charginos in the context of scenarios where the lightest supersymmetric particle is the gravitino and the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle is a slepton, is presented, together with the update of the search for heavy stable charged particles in Light gravitino scenarios and Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Models. Data collected in 1999 with the DELPHI detector at centre-of-mass energies around 192, 196, 200 and 202 GeV were analysed. No evidence for the production of these supersymmetric particles was found. Hence, new mass limits were derived at 95% confidence level. (C) 2001 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. Single intermediate vector boson production in e+e− collisions at s=183 and 189 GeV

    Get PDF
AbstractThe cross sections for the production of single charged and neutral intermediate vector bosons were measured using integrated luminosities of 52 pb–1 and 154 pb–1 collected by the experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 182.6 GeV and 188.6 GeV, respectively. The cross sections for the reactions were determined in limited kinematic regions. The results found are in agreement with the Standard Model predictions for these channels

    The reaction e+e- → γγ(γ) at Z0 energies

    Get PDF
The total and differential cross-sections for the reaction e+e- → γγ(γ) are measured at centre of mass energies around 91 GeV using an integrated luminosity of 4.7 pb-1. The aggreement with QED prediction is good. Consequently there is no evidence for non-standard channels which would have the same experimental signature. The lower limits on the QED cuttoff parameters are Λ+ > 113 GeV and Λ- > 95 GeV. An upper limit on the effective coupling between a possible excited electron and the gamma is derived. At 95% confidence level the branching ratios for Z0 decay into π0γ, ηψ and γγγ are below 1.5 × 10-4, 2.8 × 10-4 and 1.4 × 10-4 respectively. © 1991
