__________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTINTRODUCTION: Short-term results demonstrate that abdominal aneurysms without proper neck (<15 mm), can also be successfully treated with devices configured for preservation of visceral arteries through "scallops", fenestrations and branches. We developed an original technique of endoprosthesis fenestration using the Gore Excluder ® C3 (WL Gore & Ass, USA) device, for the treatment of aneurysms without adequate proximal neck using fenestrations ensuring a minimum sealing area of 15 mm and also preserving the flow in the visceral arteries. OBJECTIVE: The objective of this technique is to provide an efficient, rapid and easy endovascular treatment of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms without proper neck to implant conventional EP, in cases of medical emergency and / or impossibility of open surgery using a fenestrated endoprosthesis of ePTFE. METHOD: A Gore Excluder ® C3 (WL Gore & Ass, USA) ePTFE device was repositioned manually using fenestrated surgical equipment type "punch aorta", being sutured guidewires on the edge for radiopaque markers and strengthen fenestrations, which were afterwards pre-cannulated with guidewires 0018. The device was re-sheathed using a segment of an introducer ® Dry-seal (specify the company.) It was introduced" in vitro "in an artificial model of aorta (specify ). Maneuvers to open, close and rotate until finding the best position for releasing the endoprosthesis were made. Through fenestrae, stent grafts were placed to the visceral arteries.. RESULTS: It was possible to modify the repositionable device Gore Excluder ® C3 without damaging the metal structure and coverage of ePTFE preserving its functionality. The modification time and "resheeting" was less than one hour. There were no leaks or gaps between fenestrae grafts and stents. CONCLUSION: The proposed technique was effective, fast and not complex to exclude abdominal aortic aneurysms without adequate neck and might a promising alternative for treating such lesions

Dissertation presented as the partial requirement for obtaining a Master's degree in Information Management, specialization in Marketing IntelligenceHospitality is a highly competitive market that struggles to improve its performance. Today, the use of technology is a critical factor for more efficient performance. For this reason, hotels are increasingly willing to adopt information systems to optimize the performance of their operations. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the information systems’ maturity levels of Portuguese independent hotels and small hotel chains, to map them regarding hotels’ characteristics and identify patterns among those maturity levels. The literature indicates that hotels are becoming more willing to adopt information systems to optimize their operations, but it is always dependent on the decision-makers. The NEC (Network Exploitation Capability) Model (Piccoli et al., 2011) was employed to evaluate Portuguese hotels' information systems adoption. Quantitative and qualitative techniques were employed to perform this research. Six hoteliers, from the 77 hotel companies surveyed, were also interviewed, wich represented almost 10% of hotels. The results revealed that some hotel characteristics influence the information systems’ maturity level, which, in average, has a value of 2.7 out of 5. Nevertheless, hoteliers, on average, give a selfclassification of 3.51. Besides measuring hotels’ information systems’ maturity, the study goes deeper. It explores the type of systems used by hoteliers, their main drivers and the limitations to invest in technology or in factors that do not only influence their information system’s maturity. Additionally, this study shows how hoteliers see the technology on their day to day operations and staff qualification investment. Finally, this srudy corroborates the positive impact of technology on promoting business maturity, which consequently boosts hotels’ performance and competitiveness

Multipartite Entanglement Signature of Quantum Phase Transitions

We derive a general relation between the non-analyticities of the ground state energy and those of a subclass of the multipartite generalized global entanglement (GGE) measure defined by T. R. de Oliveira et al. [Phys. Rev. A 73, 010305(R) (2006)] for many-particle systems. We show that GGE signals both a critical point location and the order of a quantum phase transition (QPT). We also show that GGE allows us to study the relation between multipartite entanglement and QPTs, suggesting that multipartite but not bipartite entanglement is favored at the critical point. Finally, using GGE we were able, at a second order QPT, to define a diverging entanglement length (EL) in terms of the usual correlation length. We exemplify this with the XY spin-1/2 chain and show that the EL is half the correlation length.Comment: Published version. Incorporates correction made in erratu

Araripe Basin is worldwide famous by diverse and exquisitely well preserved fossil assemblages in antana Formation. This lithostratigraphic unit is subdivided into three members: Crato, Ipubi and Romualdo. Up to date six species of turtles are known: Araripemys barretoi Price, 1973; Santanachelys gaffneyi, Hirayama,1998; Brasilemys josai Lapparent de Broin, 2000; Cearachelys placidoi Gaffney, Campos & Hirayama, 2001, Euraxemys essweini Gaffney, Tong & Meylan, 2006 and Caririemys violetae Oliveira & Kellner, 2007.Taphonomical features of turtles from Crato and Romualdo members are presents here. One specimen was examined in the Crato lagerstätte, (MN 4893-V) Araripemys sp. (partial skull, axial and apendicular skeleton). This exemplar is preserved in light-beige colored laminated limestone from the Crato Member. Three specimenswere analized (MN 6743-V, MN 6744-V and MN 6760-V) in the Romualdo lagerstätte, the two first are Araripemys barretoi specimens (shell and cervical vertebrae) and the later is a Cearachelys placidoi specimen (fragmented shell). They are preserved in calcareous nodules. No data of collection of these specimens areavailable, however are possible to infer on aspects of preservation of these exemplares, since that these are preserved in the original sedimentary matrix. All specimens have shown the surface of bones without abrasion, what it allows to infer these turtles as autocthonous
