A compreensão do tempo e o desenvolvimento da competência da temporalidade em História em articulação com a Matemática em alunos do 4º ano

O presente estudo foi implementado numa turma de 4.º ano de escolaridade de 20 alunos, numa escola da cidade de Braga. Perspetivou-se com este estudo de investigação-ação analisar de que forma os alunos compreendem e desenvolvem conhecimentos ao nível do tempo e da temporalidade em História em articulação com a Matemática. O conceito de tempo e de tempo histórico são complexos e a estes surgem associados conceitos como cronologia, duração, mudança, periodização, apesar de serem de difícil compreensão e assimilação por parte dos alunos, são fundamentais para compreender a passagem do tempo em História. No âmbito deste estudo formularam-se as seguintes questões de investigação: Que conceções, co-nhecimentos e competências detém os alunos ao nível da temporalidade?; Como é que os alu-nos constroem e desenvolvem a compreensão do tempo e da temporalidade em História em articulação com a Matemática (raciocínio lógico-matemático) a partir de atividades desafiado-ras e problematizadoras?; Que competências ao nível da compreensão da temporalidade desen-volveram os alunos a partir das atividades desafiadoras e problematizadoras que visaram arti-cular a História e a Matemática? No suceder das intervenções realizadas, foram implementadas diversas atividades, onde foram aplicados diferentes instrumentos para a recolha de dados. Este grupo de alunos evidenciou no início do projeto graves lacunas no que concerne ao tempo e à temporalidade em História, tendo-se verificado com a sua implementação um grande progresso ao nível da capacidade de interpretação e sequencialização de acontecimentos num friso cronológico, bem como na compreensão do conceito de duração, que implicava raciocínio lógico- matemático. O mundo da publicidade e da comunicação digital: um olhar sobre o seu impacto no universo da Banda de Música de Arrifana

Tendo como base as entrevistas realizadas ao Presidente e ao Maestro da Banda de Música de Arrifana e o inquérito realizado aos músicos da mesma instituição, o presente projeto de investigação tem como objetivo principal determinar se a utilização da publicidade, do marketing, e a criação de estratégias de conteúdo nas redes sociais é percebida como fundamental pelos seus stakeholders no sentido de contribuir para o desenvolvimento do trabalho da Banda. Este estudo procura assim verificar se a utilização de estratégias ligadas à área do marketing, da publicidade e das redes sociais poderá representar uma mais valia para a instituição, partindo do pressuposto de que, cada vez mais, as Bandas devem pensar como se de empresas se tratassem, no sentido de melhorarem o seu percurso, num mercado fortemente concorrencial. A relevância do tema consiste na tentativa de explicar e compreender de que forma as Bandas Filarmónicas, mais concretamente a Banda de Música de Arrifana, pode utilizar ferramentas da publicidade, do marketing e da comunicação digital em seu benefício, e qual o seu impacto no trabalho da instituição. A presente dissertação pretende contribuir igualmente para o desenvolvimento de estudos nesta área.Based on the interviews conducted with the President and Conductor of Arrifana Musical Band and the survey conducted to the musicians of the same institution, this research project has as main objective to determine whether the use of advertising, marketing, and the creation of content strategies in social networks is perceived as fundamental by its stakeholders in order to contribute to the development of the Band's work. This study seeks to verify whether the use of strategies related to marketing, advertising and social networks can represent an added value for the institution, based on the assumption that, increasingly, the Bands should think as if they were companies, in order to improve their performance in a highly competitive market. The relevance of the theme is the attempt to explain and understand how the Philharmonic Bands, specifically the Arrifana Musical Band, can use the tools of advertising, marketing and digital communication in their benefit, and what is their impact on the work of the institution. Distinct Glycolysis Inhibitors Determine Retinal Cell Sensitivity to Glutamate-Mediated Injury

In this study, we analyzed how distinct glycolysis inhibitors influenced the redox status of retinal cells, used as a neuronal model. Three different approaches were used to inhibit glycolysis: the cells were submitted to iodoacetic acid (IAA), an inhibitor of glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase, to 2-deoxy-glucose (DG) in glucose-free medium, which was used as a substitute of glucose, or in the absence of glucose. The redox status of the cells was evaluated by determining the reduction of MTT (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide). By the analysis of dose-response curves of MTT reduction, IAA showed values of IC50 = 7.02 × 10-5 M, whereas DG showed values of IC50 = 7.42 × 10-4 M. Upon 30 min-incubation, glucose deprivation, per se, did not significantly affect MTT reduction. We also evaluated the reduction of MTT as an indicator of cell injury by exposing the cells to 100 µM glutamate during the decrement of glycolysis function. In the presence of glutamate, for 2 h, there was a decrease in MTT reduction, which was potentiated in the presence of DG (10-20% decrease), in the presence of IAA (about 30% decrease) or in glucose-free medium (about 30% decrease). Major changes observed by the MTT assay, upon exposure to glutamate, indicative of changes in the redox status of retinal cells, were concomitant with variations in intracellular ATP. Under glucose deprivation, endogenous ATP decreased significantly from 38.9 ± 4.4 to 13.3 ± 0.7 nmol/mg protein after exposure to 100 µM glutamate. The results support a different vulnerability of retinal cells after being exposed to distinct forms of glycolysis inhibition

ANÁLISIS DE DISCURSO E INVESTIGACIÓN EM POLÍTICA EDUCATIVA: LÁ INTERDISCURSIVIDAD DE LA EVALUACIÓN E ACCOUNTABILITY EN LA EDUCAIÓN BÁSICA EM LOS ESTADOS DE LA REGIÓN NORDESTE

O presente texto busca realizar uma reflexão sobre a análise do discurso como teoria e método de pesquisa para os estudos sobre educação, mormente acerca da política educacional. Apresenta-se uma reflexão teórica sobre a Análise Crítica do Discurso (ACD) e um exemplo analítico, tomando como objeto de estudo a política de avaliação da educação básica em estados da Região Nordeste e sua articulação com mecanismos de accountability. Os resultados revelaram que as dimensões/pilares do conceito de accountability (avaliação, prestação de contas e responsabilização) sofrem uma interposição de significados, mas claramente se aproximam de elementos da gestão gerencial, em consolidação na política educacional.This paper aims to reflect on discourse analysis as a theory and research method for studies on education, especially on educational policy. It presents a theoretical reflection on the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) and an analytical example, having as the object of analysis the assessment policy of basic education in states of the Northeast Region and its articulation with accountability mechanisms. The results revealed that the dimensions/pillars of accountability’s concept (evaluation, answerability and enforcement) undergo an interposition of meanings, but clearly come closer to management elements, which are being consolidated in educational policy.Este texto presenta reflexión acerca del análisis del discurso como teoría y método de investigación para los estudios sobre educación, de manera especial sobre la política de la educación. Effects of industrial noise on circumpulpar dentin - a field emission scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy analysis

"Chronic exposure to Industrial Noise (IN), rich in Low Frequency Noise (LFN), causes systemic fibrotic transformation and sustained stress. Dental wear, significantly increased with exposure to LFN, affects the teeth particularly through the circumpulpar dentin. Our goal is to understand the consequences of IN exposure on the circumpulpar dentin of Wistar rats. 10 Wistar rats were exposed to IN for 4 months, according to an occupationally simulated time schedule and 10 animals were used as age-matched controls. The first and the second upper and lower molars of each animal were processed for observation by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) and Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) analysis was performed. In exposed animals FESEM showed a 2.0 to 6.0 μm-dense mineral band between dentin and the pulp with no regular continuity with the tubules. This structure had a few tubules where the odontoblasts processes could be observed embedded within the band and collagen fibers were trapped inside. EDS analysis revealed that it was hydroxyapatite similar to dentin, with a higher carbon content. FESEM results show that the band may be tertiary reparative dentin formed by odontoblast-like cells, but the increased amount of carbon (EDS) could mean that it is sclerotic dentin. IN should be acknowledge as a strong stimulus, able to cause an injury to odontoblasts and to the formation of reparative tertiary dentin, in a process that may accelerate the aging of the teeth, either by direct impact of acoustic pressure pulsations or by increased stress and dental wear.

A Global optimization stochastic algorithm for head motion stabilization during quadruped robot locomotion

Visually-guided locomotion is important for autonomous robotics. However, there are several di culties, for instance, the robot locomotion induces head shaking that constraints stable image acquisition and the possibility to rely on that information to act accordingly. In this work, we propose a combined approach based on a controller architecture that is able to generate locomotion for a quadruped robot and a genetic algorithm to generate head movement stabilization. The movement controllers are biologically inspired in the concept of Central Pattern Generators (CPGs) that are modelled based on nonlinear dynamical systems, coupled Hopf oscillators. This approach allows to explicitly specify parameters such as ampli- tude, o set and frequency of movement and to smoothly modulate the generated oscillations according to changes in these parameters. Thus, in order to achieve the desired head movement, opposed to the one induced by locomotion, it is necessary to appropriately tune the CPG parameters. Since this is a non-linear and non-convex optimization problem, the tuning of CPG parameters is achieved by using a global optimization method. The genetic algorithm searches for the best set of parameters that generates the head movement in order to reduce the head shaking caused by locomotion. Optimization is done o ine according to the head movement induced by the locomotion when no stabilization procedure was performed. In order to evaluate the resulting head movement, a tness function based on the Euclidian norm is investigated. Moreover, a constraint handling technique based on tournament selection was im- plemented. Experimental results on a simulated AIBO robot demonstrate that the proposed approach generates head movement that reduces signi cantly the one induced by locomotion

GRACILIANO RAMOS: o artista e o intelectual das “Memórias do Cárcere”

Este trabalho intenta analisar a atuação do escritor e intelectual Graciliano Ramos, que seinsere no denominado “Romance de 30” da Literatura Brasileira do século XX, fazendo umrecorte ao destacar a narrativa Memórias do cárcere (1953). Tenciona-se enfocar a obra doautor alagoano à luz da teoria do crítico, escritor e filósofo alemão Walter Benjamin, acercado “Conceito de História”, mostrando como a obra de Graciliano Ramos pode ser vista comoum exemplo de escrita cuja postura narrativa assumida é a de colocar-se ao lado dosoprimidos, numa época em que a arte tinha relação com o modo como deveria ser entendido oprocesso de modernização do país, que buscava uma posição diante dessa modernidade e quese apresentava como um grande desafio para os intelectuais brasileiros
