Towards Loop Quantum Supergravity (LQSG) II. p-Form Sector
In our companion paper, we focussed on the quantisation of the
Rarita-Schwinger sector of Supergravity theories in various dimensions by using
an extension of Loop Quantum Gravity to all spacetime dimensions. In this
paper, we extend this analysis by considering the quantisation of additional
bosonic fields necessary to obtain a complete SUSY multiplet next to graviton
and gravitino in various dimensions. As a generic example, we study concretely
the quantisation of the 3-index photon of 11d SUGRA, but our methods easily
extend to more general p-form fields. Due to the presence of a Chern-Simons
term for the 3-index photon, which is due to local SUSY, the theory is
self-interacting and its quantisation far from straightforward. Nevertheless,
we show that a reduced phase space quantisation with respect to the 3-index
photon Gauss constraint is possible. Specifically, the Weyl algebra of
observables, which deviates from the usual CCR Weyl algebras by an interesting
twist contribution proportional to the level of the Chern-Simons theory, admits
a background independent state of the Narnhofer-Thirring type.Comment: 12 pages. v2: Journal version. Minor clarifications and correction
Determination of the Michel Parameters rho, xi, and delta in tau-Lepton Decays with tau --> rho nu Tags
Using the ARGUS detector at the storage ring DORIS II, we have
measured the Michel parameters , , and for
decays in -pair events produced at
center of mass energies in the region of the resonances. Using
as spin analyzing tags, we find , , , , and . In addition, we report
the combined ARGUS results on , , and using this work

Spectroscopy of geo-neutrinos from 2056 days of Borexino data
We report an improved geo-neutrino measurement with Borexino from 2056 days
of data taking. The present exposure is
protonyr. Assuming a chondritic Th/U mass ratio of 3.9, we obtain geo-neutrino events. The null
observation of geo-neutrinos with Borexino alone has a probability of (5.9). A geo-neutrino signal from the mantle is
obtained at 98\% C.L. The radiogenic heat production for U and Th from the
present best-fit result is restricted to the range 23-36 TW, taking into
account the uncertainty on the distribution of heat producing elements inside
the Earth.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure

Measurement of neutrino flux from the primary proton--proton fusion process in the Sun with Borexino detector
Neutrino produced in a chain of nuclear reactions in the Sun starting from
the fusion of two protons, for the first time has been detected in a real-time
detector in spectrometric mode. The unique properties of the Borexino detector
provided an oppurtunity to disentangle pp-neutrino spectrum from the background
components. A comparison of the total neutrino flux from the Sun with Solar
luminosity in photons provides a test of the stability of the Sun on the
10 years time scale, and sets a strong limit on the power production in
the unknown energy sources in the Sun of no more than 4\% of the total energy
production at 90\% C.L.Comment: 15 pages, 2 tables, 3 figure
Inclusive Production Cross Sections from 920 GeV Fixed Target Proton-Nucleus Collisions
Inclusive differential cross sections and
for the production of \kzeros, \lambdazero, and
\antilambda particles are measured at HERA in proton-induced reactions on C,
Al, Ti, and W targets. The incident beam energy is 920 GeV, corresponding to
GeV in the proton-nucleon system. The ratios of differential
cross sections \rklpa and \rllpa are measured to be and , respectively, for \xf . No significant dependence upon the
target material is observed. Within errors, the slopes of the transverse
momentum distributions also show no significant
dependence upon the target material. The dependence of the extrapolated total
cross sections on the atomic mass of the target material is
discussed, and the deduced cross sections per nucleon are
compared with results obtained at other energies.Comment: 17 pages, 7 figures, 5 table
A Search for the Electric Dipole Moment of the Tau-Lepton
Using the ARGUS detector at the e+e- storage ring DORIS II, we have searched
for the real and imaginary part of the electric dipole formfactor d_tau of the
tau lepton in the production of tau pairs at q^2=100 GeV^2. This is the first
direct measurement of this CP violating formfactor. We applied the method of
optimised observables which takes into account all available information on the
observed tau decay products. No evidence for CP violation was found, and we
derive the following results: Re(d_tau)=(1.6+-.9)*10^(-16) ecm and
Im(d_tau)=(-0.2+-0.8)*10^(-16) ecm, where statistical and systematic errors
have been combined.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures (10 subfigures
Experimental Detection of the CNO Cycle
Borexino recently reported the first experimental evidence for a CNO neutrino. Since this process accounts for only about 1% of the Sun’s total energy production, the associated neutrino flux is remarkably low compared to that of the pp chain, the dominant hydrogen-burning process. This experimental evidence for the existence of CNO neutrinos was obtained using a highly radio-pure Borexino liquid scintillator. Improvements in the thermal stabilization of the detector over the last five years have allowed us to exploit a method of constraining the rate of 210Bi background. Since the CNO cycle is dominant in massive stars, this result is the first experimental evidence of a major stellar hydrogen-to-helium conversion mechanism in the Universe
Solar and geoneutrinos
Thanks to the progress of neutrino physics, today we are able of exploiting neutrinos as a tool to study astrophysical objects. The latter in turn serve as unique sources of elusive neutrinos, which fundamental properties are still to be understood. This contribution attempts to summarize the latest results obtained by measuring neutrinos emitted from the Sun and geoneutrinos produced in radioactive decays inside the Earth, with a particular focus on a recent discovery of the CNO-cycle solar neutrinos by Borexino. Comprehensive measurement of the pp-chain solar neutrinos and the first directional detection of sub-MeV solar neutrinos by Borexino, the updated 8B solar neutrino results of Super-Kamiokande, as well as the latest Borexino and KamLAND geoneutrino measurements are also discussed
