The Schengen Governance Package-another missed opportunity?. IES Policy Brief Issue 2015/1, February 2015

The Schengen Area of free movement is considered to be one of the most substantial and, in the eyes of many, most successful achievements of European integration. In 2014, the ‘Schengen Governance Package’, which alters the rules of the Schengen co-operation, came into force. It is a response to conflict among Member States in maintaining the common zone of freedom of movement. This Policy Brief aims to analyse how this package was developed and to assess whether it represents a suitable response to the conflict and difficulties within the Schengen agreement. The Brief argues that the Governance Package only touches on one part of the problem, namely border controls, whereas it does not deal with solidarity and burden-sharing and hence represents another missed opportunity to improve cooperation in the Schengen Area

Tématem diplomové práce je navržení architektonické studie Fakulty výtvarných umění na území, které se nachází na rozhraní brněnských čtvrtí Veveří a Žabovřesky. Řešené území je vymezeno ulicemi Šumavská, Bulínova a Veveří. Návrh navazuje na již zpracovanou část předdiplomního projektu v předmětu TG02, která se zabývá rozvržením objektů v území a dále zpracováním architektonické studie pro tři celky z celkových čtyř - Fakultu soudního inženýrství, společné prostory pro obě fakulty a prostory podzemních garáží. Čtvrtý celek, kterýmž je Fakulta výtvarných umění, je zpracován ve druhé fázi jako diplomní projekt. Ostatní celky jsou spolu s návrhem druhé fakulty také rozvinuty. Architektonický koncept navazuje na městskou strukturu v nejbližším okolí. Hlavní ideou je vytvořit uskupení budov takové, aby jednotlivé hmoty respektovaly lidské měřítko a aby nebyly vytvořeny dlouhé nekonečné fasády a obrovské objemy budov. Řešením jsou tedy dva objekty tvaru L, které svírají objekt společných prostor. Vytváří se tak mnoho poloveřejných a veřejných prostor, které mohou mít rozličné funkce.The final thesis is focused on a design of architectural study of a Faculty of fine arts on the area, which is located on a border of two Brno districts Veveří and Žabovřesky. The chosen area is determined by Šumavská Street, Bulínova Street, and Veveří Street. The design follows an already processed part of the project from the first semester in the subject TG02. It is focused on the layout of the buildings in the area and the design of architectonical study for three out of four units – the Faculty of Forensic Engineering, common premises of both faculties and underground garages. The fourth unit, which is the Faculty of Fine Arts, is designed in the second phase as the final thesis. Other units are developed together with the design of the second faculty. The architectonical concept follows the city structure in the nearest surroundings. The main idea was to create a cluster of buildings which respects a human scale, not to create a long endless facades and gigantic masses of buildings. The solution is two L-shaped buildings, which grip the building of common premises. It creates a lot of semipublic and public spaces with a great variety of various functions.

Import 21/10/2013Cílem této diplomové práce je k jednotlivým pod-úkolům procesu Open UP přiřadit vhodné Best Practices z modelu SPICE, abychom mohli efektivně kontrolovat postup a kvalitu systému, který právě vytváříme. Součástí diplomové práce je program, ve kterém je možno zadat hodnocení jednotlivých BP a zajistit na kolik procent jsou při vývoji programu dodrženy BP ze SPICE modelu daného pod-úkolu. Toto ohodnocení se vypočte vzhledem k celkovému počtu BP v jednotlivých částech a výsledek se nám zobrazí v koláčových grafech.The aim of this thesis is to assign appropriate Best Practices from SPICE model to sub-tasks of Open UP process, so we can effectively check the progress and quality of the system which we are creating. As a part of this thesis, there is a program in which we can enter the rating of each BP representing percentage of satisfiability BP from SPICE model during the program development. 1 Švýcarský Spolkový soud Abstrakt Cílem této diplomové práce je nastínit postavení Spolkového soudu ve švýcarském právním systému a zvážit, zda by se de lege ferenda mělo přistoupit k rozšíření kontroly ústavnosti norem i na spolkové zákony. V první části je popsán jak stručný historický vývoj Švýcarska, tak Spolkového soudu. Druhá část pojednává jednak o postavení Spolkového soudu, jednak o jeho organizaci. Třetí část je věnována teoretickému popisu různých modelů ústavního soudnictví. Záměrem čtvrté části je nabídnout přehled stávajícího právního rámce ústavního soudnictví ve Švýcarsku. Pátá část slouží jako zhodnocení argumentů pro a proti zavedení kontroly ústavnosti spolkových zákonů. Švýcarský právní systém je všeobecně známý pro svoji jedinečnost a důraz kladený na princip suverenity lidu. Třebaže je často dáván za příklad dobře fungující demokracie, tak lze některé jeho části podrobit kritickému diskurzu. The first chapter serves as a brief description of the formation of Switzerland as well as of the Federal Supreme Court itself. The second chapter deals with the position of the Federal Supreme Court in the Swiss legal system along with its internal organisation. The third chapter is dedicated to the various types of constitutional jurisdiction from a theoretical point of view. The fourth chapter's purpose is to offer an overview of the current legal framework of constitutional jurisdiction in Switzerland. The fifth chapter acts as an evaluation of the various arguments for and against the implementation of judicial review of federal statutes. The Swiss legal system is generally very well known for its uniqueness and emphasis on the principle of sovereignty of the people. Although it is often used as an example of a well functioning democracy, there are parts of it that can be subject to critical dispute. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou společenského postavení žen a jejich rolí v průběhu od konce 19. století do sedmdesátých let 20. století. V první části je nastíněn vývoj obrazu žen včetně ženského hnutí v historicko-společenském kontextu. Následuje analýza ženských postav a rolí na základě vybraných prozaických děl, jimiž jsou Effi Briest od Theodora Fontane, Zavraždění kapitána Haniky od Hermanna Ungara a nakonec Skupinový portrét s dámou od Heinricha Bölla. Cultural identity of Japanese immigrants to USA

(česky): Cílem této bakalářské práce je určit, do jaké míry a v jaké podobě si japonští přistěhovalci a jejich potomci ve Spojených státech amerických uchovávají svoji původní kulturní identitu a jakým způsobem u nich dochází k postupné adaptaci na kulturu přijímající země. První, teoretická část uvádí obecné poznatky o kultuře, etnicitě a kulturní identitě v kontextu globalizace a migrace. V druhé části se zaměřuji již na japonské emigranty. Na úvod představující jejich etnicitu a identitu obecně navazuje chronologický popis vývoje japonské imigrace do Spojených států a rozdílností adaptace v závislosti na společenských, politických a ekonomických podmínkách. Zmiňuji také specifické japonské kulturní vzorce, které v adaptaci do většinové populace USA hrály největší roli - skupinovou orientaci a kulturní relativismus. Vzhledem k tomu, že japonská imigrace v USA není homogenní, rozhodla jsem se v poslední části přiblížit adaptační proces a změnu identity japonských Američanů v oblasti Malého Tokia v Los Angeles se zaměřením na kulturní festival Nisei Week. In the first part, the thesis presents general information about culture, ethnicity and cultural identity in the context of globalisation and migration. The second part is focused on the Japanese emigrants. Introduction of their ethnicity and identity in general is followed by chronological description of Japanese immigration to the USA and of the differences in adaptation depending on social, political and economical conditions. Also mentioned are the specific Japanese cultural patterns that had the biggest influence on Japanese American adaptation - group orientation and cultural relativism. Due to the fact that Japanese immigration is not homogenous, I decided to focus on the adaptation process and change of the identity of Japanese Americans in the area of Little Tokyo, Los Angeles and its cultural festival Nisei Week. Utjecaj obogaćivanja stočne hrane lanenim uljem i ekstrudatom sjemena lana na profil masnih kiselina u kozjem jogurtu

Feed composition is one of the most influential factors affecting fatty acid profile of milk products. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of linseed oil and linseed extrudate supplementation on fatty acid composition of goat prebiotic and probiotic yogurt drinks. Thirty six White Shorthaired dairy goats at the beginning of their third lactation period were divided into two experimental and one control group, each comprising twelve animals. Goats in the experimental groups were given either 55 mL/day of linseed oil or 120 g/day of linseed extrudate over a three week period. The results suggest that feed supplementation with linseed oil and linseed extrudate caused considerable changes in fatty acid profile of goat yoghurt drinks. The most important nutritional change which was observed was increased n-3 fatty acid content (P<0.001) and decreased saturated fatty acid content (P<0.001). α-linolenic acid was significantly elevated (P<0.001) in both groups (in particular in goats which feed was supplemented with linseed oil).Sastav krme jedan je od najznačajnijih čimbenika koji utječu na profil masnih kiselina mliječnih proizvoda. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je istražiti utjecaj dodatka ulja lanenog sjemena ili ekstrudata lanenog sjemena na sastav masnih kiselina prebiotičkog i probiotičkog jogurta od kozjeg mlijeka. Trideset i šest mliječnih koza pasmine White Shorthaired na početku trećeg razdoblja laktacije podijeljene su u dvije eksperimentalne i jednu kontrolnu skupinu, od kojih svaka uključuje dvanaest životinja. Kozama u eksperimentalnim skupinama davano je 55 mL/dan ulja lanenog sjemena ili 120 g/dan ekstrudata lanenog sjemena tijekom tri tjedna. Dodatak ulja lanenog sjemena i ekstrudata lanenog sjemena izazvao je znatne promjene u profilu masnih kiselina kozjeg jogurta. Najznačajnija promjena u hranjivim svojstvima bila je povećana količina masnih kiselina n-3 (P<0,001) i smanjen udjel zasićenih masnih kiselina (P<0,001). Udjel α-linolenske kiseline bio je značajno povišen (P<0,001) u obje skupine (posebno kod koza koje su hranjene dodatkom lanenog ulja)

Salicylanilide Diethyl Phosphates as Potential Inhibitors of Some Mycobacterial Enzymes

Antimycobacterially active salicylanilide diethyl phosphates were evaluated to identify their potential drug target(s) for the inhibition of several mycobacterial enzymes, including isocitrate lyase, L-alanine dehydrogenase (MtAlaDH), lysine ε-aminotransferase, chorismate mutase, and pantothenate synthetase. The enzymes are related to the nongrowing state of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Salicylanilide diethyl phosphates represent new candidates with significant inhibitory activity especially against L-alanine dehydrogenase. The most active MtAlaDH inhibitor, 5-chloro-2-[(3-chlorophenyl)carbamoyl]phenyl diethyl phosphate, has an IC50 of 4.96 µM and the best docking results. Other mycobacterial enzymes were mostly inhibited by some derivatives but at higher concentrations; isocitrate lyase showed the highest resistance to salicylanilide diethyl phosphates
