The purpose of this thesis was to examine challenges and needs among unemployed Russian- speaking living in the capital area. The aim of the study was also to find out their experiences of using services and how the services can be developed. My cooperation partner is Finnish Russian-speaking Central organization. The theory section deals with concepts of immigration and immigrant, integration policy and its measures and the Helsinki foreign policy as well. The social problems part is centralized on four main problems, which there observed during the research. Those are poverty, discrimination, loneliness and depression. The thesis is a quantitative research. For the data collection the internet questionnaire by the Webropol-programe was used. There were 32 questions in the form and the data consisted of 120 answers. The results show that the main problems of the capital area living unemployed Russian-speaking are Finnish language studying and the process of job searching. The state of health is generally good and there was no evidence alcohol addiction during this research. The mental health presents no reason for worry. The Russianspeaking people feel sometimes or all the time lonely and depressed. There were some experiences of discrimination mentioned as well. Generally, the Russianspeaking are contented of using services, but health care and Te services need to be developed

Effect of atomic diffusion on the Raman-Ramsey coherent population trapping resonances

    Get PDF
We experimentally investigated the characteristics of two-photon transmission resonances in Rb vapor cells with different amounts of buffer gas under the conditions of steady-state coherent population trapping (CPT) and a pulsed Raman-Ramsey (RR) CPT interrogation scheme. We particularly focused on the influence of the Rb atoms diffusing in and out of the laser beam. We showed that this effect modifies the shape of both CPT and RR resonances as well as their projected performance for CPT clock applications. In particular we found that at moderate buffer gas pressures RR-CPT did not improve the projected atomic clock stability compared to the regular steady-state CPT resonance. This research paper covers the distribution of economic rent among different participants of a chains, as exemplified by global value chains in the resource management industries. Five hypotheses on the value-added distribution in a chain were verified: (1) The larger the company, the more market power and advantages in value-added distribution it has; (2) The integrator of a chain (focal company) has more advantages in value-added distribution than other participants of a chain; (3) Suppliers of intellectual solutions have more advantages in value-added distribution than producers of goods; (4) The closer the company to the end consumer, the more advantages in value-added distribution it has; (5) Companies controlling market of final goods (brand or entry to the local market) have more advantages in value-added distribution than their suppliers. None of the mentioned above hypotheses are verified in accordance with empirical data in the selected sectors of economies. At the same time, it has been verified that investments in Research and Development, per se, do not guarantee any privileges in the international division of labor; suppliers of key parts are those who have clear advantages in value chains; localization of production of end goods is not always the right thing to do

Investigation of metal ions sorption of brown peat moss powder

For regularities research of sorptive extraction of heavy metal ions by cellulose and its derivates from aquatic solution of electrolytes it is necessary to find possible mechanism of sorption process and to choice a model describing this process. The present article investigates the regularities of aliovalent metals sorption on brown peat moss powder. The results show that sorption isotherm of Al3+ ions is described by Freundlich isotherm and sorption isotherms of Na+ и Ni2+ are described by Langmuir isotherm. To identify the mechanisms of brown peat moss powder sorption the IR-spectra of the initial brown peat moss powder samples and brown peat moss powder samples after Ni (II) sorption were studied. Metal ion binding mechanisms by brown peat moss powder points to ion exchange, physical adsorption, and complex formation with hydroxyl and carboxyl groups

Hox gene expression during postlarval development of the polychaete Alitta virens

BACKGROUND: Hox genes are the family of transcription factors that play a key role in the patterning of the anterior-posterior axis of all bilaterian animals. These genes display clustered organization and colinear expression. Expression boundaries of individual Hox genes usually correspond with morphological boundaries of the body. Previously, we studied Hox gene expression during larval development of the polychaete Alitta virens (formerly Nereis virens) and discovered that Hox genes are expressed in nereid larva according to the spatial colinearity principle. Adult Alitta virens consist of multiple morphologically similar segments, which are formed sequentially in the growth zone. Since the worm grows for most of its life, postlarval segments constantly change their position along the anterior-posterior axis. RESULTS: We studied the expression dynamics of the Hox cluster during postlarval development of the nereid Alitta virens and found that 8 out of 11 Hox genes are transcribed as wide gene-specific gradients in the ventral nerve cord, ectoderm, and mesoderm. The expression domains constantly shift in accordance with the changing proportions of the growing worm, so expression domains of most Hox genes do not have stable anterior or/and posterior boundaries. In the course of our study, we revealed long antisense RNA (asRNA) for some Hox genes. Expression patterns of two of these genes were analyzed using whole-mount in-situ hybridization. This is the first discovery of antisense RNA for Hox genes in Lophotrochozoa. CONCLUSION: Hox gene expression in juvenile A. virens differs significantly from Hox gene expression patterns both in A. virens larva and in other Bilateria. We suppose that the postlarval function of the Hox genes in this polychaete is to establish and maintain positional coordinates in a constantly growing body, as opposed to creating morphological difference between segments
