I have presented papers about Street Flowers: Urban Survivors of the Privileged Land at 'Duration’ - an international, interdisciplinary conference exploring the temporality of contemporary public arts practice
WATER DISPENSER: A UNIQUE INNOVATIVE DESIGN THAT MATTERS
Any individual is basically moved to do a particular task when in need or when challenged by the environment (Amabile, 2013). Cebu Technological University had been experiencing scarcity of instructional equipment for the last decade due to budget constraint. To enhance its instruction for the students in refrigeration and air conditioning majors both for industrial technology and mechanical engineering, the study was conducted making use of stock scrap water dispenser. Innovative design, construction and function were validated and results revealed that the design of water dispenser was Highly Acceptable implying that the design meets the required competency (Friedman, 2003). It increases the students’ performances during pre-test (moderately satisfactory and effective) to very satisfactory and highly effective in the post test after having a practical application on the use of the innovative water dispenser. Thus, an innovative design is recommended to be utilized and duplicated for similar use
REFRIGERATION AND AIR CONDITIONING (RAC) TECHNOLOGY: UNRAVELLING ITS STATUS AT WORK
Being the frontline state university in Central Visayas, Cebu Technological University (CTU) adheres to the 16 theories of Tech-voc training to make the school a replica of the industry. This study determined the status of material resource in refrigeration and air conditioning technology at CTU systems. There were fifty-five (55) respondents randomly selected from different campuses of the university to elicit responses on availability, adequacy and usability of such resources. The material resources of the refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) technology of CTU are insufficient. Further, it can be inferred that insufficiency is paralleled with the need to upgrade the non-serviceable resources due to obsolescence, propel to produce qualified 21st century technology graduates, who are technologically savvy and globally competitive. And it is strongly recommended that the top management may consider enough budget allocation, to buy new RAC technology sets of equipment, for instructional improvement to boost quality technical and vocational education

Calcifilaxia: RevisĂŁo da Literatura a PropĂłsito de 2 Casos ClĂnicos
Calciphylaxis is a rare and devastating obliterative vasculopathy, leading to ischemia and subcutaneous necrosis. In most cases it affects patients with renal disease and is associated with high morbidity
and mortality. We present two case reports followed recently in our department, and a literature review on this topic. Case one refers to an 80 -year -old Caucasian woman with chronic kidney disease stage 5 and primary hyperparathyroidism with secondary brown tumour and calciphylaxis. Case two refers to a 59 -year -old Caucasian woman admitted with severe nephrotic syndrome associated with amyloidosis, that developed a catastrophic picture of calciphylaxis, ending in the patient’s death. There is a critical need to understand the pathogenesis of calciphylaxis. Its comprehension is the only way to improve the survival of these patients, and may help to elucidate the pathophysiology of vascular calcification
in general. Educating physicians in the prevention and early detection of calciphylaxis is crucial. Only by increasing the knowledge about risk factors, pathophysiology, response to treatment and outcome, will we be able to improve prophylaxis and therapy of patients with calciphylaxis, decreasing the high
mortality of this entity
Anticoagulant-Related Nephropathy in a Patient with IgA Nephropathy
Anticoagulant-related nephropathy is a type of acute kidney injury caused by overcoagulation. We describe a case of an 84-year-old man with arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease and atrial fibrillation treated with acenocoumarol, who presented with haematoproteinuria and acute kidney injury during a phase of excessive anticoagulation. In addition to IgA nephropathy, renal biopsy also revealed acute tubular necrosis, red blood cell casts and positive iron staining in tubular cells. After this acute episode, renal function improved and proteinuria decreased below the nephrotic range.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Technology Course: Sustainable Growth of Professional Competency
This study was conducted to explore a practical discussion on helping the students' professional competency. More specifically, this study conducted two studies developing a competency analysis profile on refrigeration and air conditioning technology, and examining the essential core competencies for training undergraduate students in Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology specializing Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology at Cebu Technological University. The qualitative and quantitative data were collected through observations, interviews, document analysis, and developing a curriculum job analysis process from six (6) training instructors from Cebu Technological University, two (2) training instructors from Technical Education Skills and Development Authority and three (3) service technicians from wellknownRefrigeration and Air Conditioning Service Centers in Metro Cebu. Moreover, the importance of core competencies as rated by respondents and the mean rating were calculated for each competency. The quality of the results had to be applied for a systematic curriculum and instructional development to effective implementation guidelines. Thus, enhance the competencies in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technolog
Typing of Egyptian Citrus tristeza virus (CTV) isolates based on the capsid protein gene
The capsid protein gene of three Egyptian CTV isolates from two locations was amplified by immunocapture RT-PCR and analysed by single stranded conformation polymorphism and sequencing. The CTV isolates studied did not differ significantly in sequence composition and each isolate consisted of very similar haplotypes. Comparison with reference sequences from isolates elsewhere in the world showed that these haplotypes clustered very close to the severe strain T3 from Florida causing quick decline and stem pitting. Analysis of the deduced amino acid sequence showed the epitope characteristic of reactivity with the MCA13 antibody. Sequence comparison with the sequence of an Egyptian isolate (Qaha) available in the Genbank showed a distance of about 8%, suggesting that it had a different origin
