    Relació entre els resultats de percepció visual del TVPS i el rendiment de lectura en nens/es de 6 a 12 anys

    INTRODUCCIÓ: A la pràctica optomètrica s’indica que l’habilitat de discriminació visual influeix en la lectura de paraules similars, i la constància de forma en la lectura amb diferents tipografies. Tot i així no s’ha trobat cap estudi fins la data actual afirmant aquesta relació. OBJECTIUS: Valorar si existeix una relació entre les habilitats visuals perceptives i el rendiment lector segons paraules similars i diferents tipografies en nens de 6 a 12 anys amb i sense dificultats lectores. METODOLOGIA: Es van avaluar les capacitats perceptives de discriminació visual, memòria visual i constància de forma amb el test TVPS-3, juntament amb la velocitat i comprensió lectora amb el test TALEC. Es van dissenyar dues taules de paraules, la primera amb paraules similars i la segona amb diferents tipografies. RESULTATS: La mostra final va constar de 46 participants, n=24 amb dificultats d’aprenentatge. Es van observar diferències estadísticament significatives amb totes les habilitats de percepció visual entre els grups (p<0.05). Observem una bona correlació entre les habilitats perceptives i el rendiment lector amb paraules similars i tipografies diferents (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Els resultats de l’estudi suggereixen que la percepció visual va estretament lligada amb el rendiment lector, i que les habilitats de percepció visual influeixen en la lectura de paraules similars i amb diferents tipografies, especialment quan hi ha dificultats d’aprenentatge.INTRODUCCIÓN: En la práctica optométrica se indica que la habilidad de discriminación visual influye en la lectura de palabras similares, y la constancia de forma en la lectura con diferentes tipografías. Se diseñaron dos tablas de palabras, la primera con palabras similares y la segunda con distintas tipografías. RESULTADOS: La muestra final constató de 46 participantes, n=24 con dificultades de aprendizaje. Se observaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas con todas las habilidades de percepción visual entre los grupos (p<0.05). Observamos una buena correlación entre las habilidades perceptivas y el rendimiento lector con palabras similares y tipografías distintas (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONES: Los resultados del estudio sugieren que la percepción visual va fuertemente ligada con el rendimiento lector, y que las habilidades de percepción visual influyen en la lectura de palabras similares y con diferentes tipografías, especialmente cuando hay dificultades de aprendizaje.INTRODUCTION: Optometric practice indicates that the ability of visual discrimination influences the reading of similar words, and the constancy of form in reading with different typographies. OBJECTIVES: To assess whether there is a relationship between visual perceptual skills and reading performance according to similar words and different typographies in children aged 6 to 12 years with and without reading difficulties. METHODOLOGY: The perceptual abilities of visual discrimination, visual memory and form constancy were evaluated with the TVPS-3 test, together with speed and reading comprehension with the TALEC test. Two word tables were designed, the first one with similar words and the second one with different typographies. RESULTS: The final sample consisted of 46 participants, n=24 with learning difficulties. Statistically significant differences were observed with all visual perception skills between groups (p<0.05). We observed a good correlation between perceptual skills and reading performance with similar words and different typographies (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The results of the study suggest that visual perception is closely linked to reading performance, and that visual perception skills influence the reading of similar words and different typographies, especially when learning difficulties are present

    SIRA: Relightable Avatars from a Single Image

    Recovering the geometry of a human head from a single image, while factorizing the materials and illumination is a severely ill-posed problem that requires prior information to be solved. Methods based on 3D Morphable Models (3DMM), and their combination with differentiable renderers, have shown promising results. However, the expressiveness of 3DMMs is limited, and they typically yield over-smoothed and identity-agnostic 3D shapes limited to the face region. Highly accurate full head reconstructions have recently been obtained with neural fields that parameterize the geometry using multilayer perceptrons. The versatility of these representations has also proved effective for disentangling geometry, materials and lighting. However, these methods require several tens of input images. In this paper, we introduce SIRA, a method which, from a single image, reconstructs human head avatars with high fidelity geometry and factorized lights and surface materials. Our key ingredients are two data-driven statistical models based on neural fields that resolve the ambiguities of single-view 3D surface reconstruction and appearance factorization. Experiments show that SIRA obtains state of the art results in 3D head reconstruction while at the same time it successfully disentangles the global illumination, and the diffuse and specular albedos. Furthermore, our reconstructions are amenable to physically-based appearance editing and head model relighting

    Health Literacy among Health and Social Care University Students

    Health literacy has been defined by the World Health Organization as the cognitive and social skills which determine the motivation and ability of individuals to gain access to, understand and use information in ways which promote and maintain good health. Its importance in reducing inequalities makes health literacy a thematic area that should be addressed in the training of professionals in the fields of healthcare, Social Work and Education. The objective of this study was to define the health literacy levels of students from the Universities of Girona and Barcelona (Spain) and the Regional Institute of Social Work in Perpignan (France). A cross-sectional study was conducted among students of Nursing, Social Work, Primary Education and Special Education in the 2017-2018 academic year. Sociodemographic and academic variables were considered and the HLS-EU-Q16 questionnaire was used to study health literacy levels. In total, 219 students with an average age of 24.9 participated. Of these, 64.4% were studying Social Work, 23.7% Nursing, 5.9% Primary Education, and 5.9% Special Education. Of the total sample, 36.5% were classified as sufficient in health literacy. The total average score of the health literacy index was 11.1; 13.2 among Nursing students; 10.5 among Social Work students; 10.1 among Primary Education students, and 10.1 among Special Education students (p < 0.001). Nursing students obtained the best results and healthcare was the highest rated subdomain, more than disease prevention and health promotion
