    Peace, a Condition for Israel's Security

    The current study examines the conceptual framework of what Israel calls 'Israel's national security'. Using short interviews with Israelis and citing statements made by Israeli leaders, the study found first that Israelis are raised to embrace a bunker mentality where people always feel they are subject to constant threat; and second that Israel understands security only in terms of power, with the ultimate goal of bringing the Palestinians/Arabs under its dominance. The study argues that this theory has never brought security to Israel and it is unlikely to achieve this goal in the future. The study concludes that it is only through an all-out, just peace that Israel can feel secure, thrive and establish a favorable climate for the generations to come.Keywords: Peace, Security, Bunker Mentality, Zionism, Middle East Conflict

    Characterization of LUSI Mud as Geopolymer Raw Material

    The mud of mud volcano samples were collected from an eruption site named ā€˜LUSIā€™ (Lumpur ā€œmudā€ ā€“Sidoarjo), East Java, Indonesia for characterization. Analysis showed that, the major constituents of mud are SiO2 and Al2O3 which are higher than those in fly ash. The particle of mud has a flake-shaped particle and the overall particle size is dominated by particles between 2.5Ī¼m ā€“ 25.0Ī¼m. The results of XRD shows that mud of mud volcano have a characteristic of structurally disordered compounds, and a set of peaks corresponding to minor crystalline phases such as quartz, feldspars, and kaolinite.     Customer information systems for deregulated ASEAN countries

    In similar fashion to western countries, ASEAN countries are also gearing up towards deregulation. Despite potentially different motivating drivers, the ultimate objectives are free market competition leading to efficient pricing signals as well as providing customers with the freedom to choose their electricity provider and benefit from competitive prices. This paper provides an ASEAN electricity market analysis and describes the development of electricity deregulation in ASEAN countries. By way of background it also highlights the objectives of deregulation, the potential challenges and also the impact areas focusing on existing Customer Information Systems (CIS) that have been developed by other utilities. In addition, this paper proposes a new framework for improving CIS for ASEAN utilities facing deregulation. The framework outlines a CIS, which has intelligent features enabling the utility to estimate and predict customer behaviour with respect to consumption patterns. It describes how these features can assist the utility companies to retain their existing customers as well as attract more customers

    The slow growth in harvested area and production of food crops ( rice, corn and soybeans ) have an impact on the occurrence of lack of food supply , especially rice . This deficiency is imported from outside the region which will also affect the economy's income Riau province mainly of income from the agricultural sector . This article examines the growth of food crops and its contribution to the economy in the province of Riau The analytical method used is descriptive and quantitative approach to literature reviews, and search was secondary data . The results show that the GDP growth and the contribution of the food crops sub-sector is still small relative to the economy of the province of Riau . to maintain the availability of foodstuffs , especially rice governments should make efforts to increase the area of land and increased productivit

    Bencana alam seperti erupsi gunung berapi dapat diketahui sebelumnya melalui informasi yang disampaikan oleh Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi. Material vulkanis atau awan panas dapat merusak bangunan dan juga instalasi listriknya. Salah satu indikasi kerusakan instalasi listrik adalah kegagalan sistem isolasinya, sehingga hal tersebut dapat mengakibatkan adanya arus lebih. Arus listrik lebih yang mengalir terlalu lama berakibat munculnya kerusakan jaringan listrik lainnya. Salah satu cara untuk memutus adanya arus lebih pada jaringan instalasi listrik adalah dengan memasang PBO. Pemutus Balik Otomatis (PBO) adalah salah satu alat yang cukup penting dalam sistem proteksi jaringan listrik dengan cara pemutusan berulang. Penelitian ini membahas tentang rangkaian pemutus Balik otomatis elektronis yang digunakan untuk memantau arus lebih yang kemudian dibaca oleh sensor arus lalu diubah menjadi tegangan analog. Setelah proses pengubahan, selanjutnya akan diproses oleh mikrokontroler ATMega8535 sebagai pengendali pada sistem alat ini. Software dalam ATMega8535 dirancang sebagai pengendali relai untuk memutus Balik secara otomatis dengan waktu tunda dan pengunciannya setelah melampaui batas counter yang sudah ditentukan dan akan diinformasikan dengan media layanan pesan singkat (SMS). Kemudian untuk memfungsikan kembali dapat di-reset melalui tombol reset atau telepon genggam dengan mengirim SMS. Pada penelitian ini, layanan pesan singkat juga dapat digunakan untuk mengontrol hidup / matinya PBO. Pemutus Balik Otomatis ini dapat beroperasi sebagai pengaman jaringan instalasi listrik dan dapat dikontrol dari manapun melalui SMS dengan waktu Ā± 10 detik

Robots can also replace work that can not be done by humans. The development of these technologies requires the emergence of an innovation of robots can be more useful, one of them as a security system.In this thesis, has created an integrated robot named Cambot. Cambot is a robot that has the ability to search, mendektesi, and capture the movement of an object.Cambot is an application of the science of Computer Vision using existing methods in the field of Image Processing. Cambot has a camera that serves as an eye, the robot is able to detect and capture the movement of an object. In addition, Cambot also equipped with two servo motors that can rotate to the right-left and up-down direction to move the camera to keep their eyes on the target. PC as image processing brain of Cambot is incoming charge, make decisions, and ordered to the control circuit to drive the robot parts in accordance with the conditions of the target. Cambot expected to be useful as a security system with a high degree of accuracy

    Lereng merupakan salah satu lahan terbuka yang beresiko tinggi dan tidak stabil sehingga banyak kelongsoran yang terjadi. Namun, kelongsoran dapat diantisipasi dengan mengaplikasikan perkuatan geogrid pada lereng. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari variasi kemiringan sudut kemiringan lereng dan lebar pondasi yang paling optimum untuk daya dukung tanah yang diperkuat menggunakan geogrid. Penelitian ini digunakan 2 lapisan perkuatan geogrid, rasio jarak pondasi dari tepi lereng sebesar 2B, 3 variasi lebar pondasi sebesar 4cm, 6cm dan 8cm dan 3 variasi sudut kemiringan lereng sebesar 46o, 51o, 56o. Dari penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan daya dukung maksimum terjadi pada saat pondasi dengan lebar 4cm dan sudut kemiringan lereng 46o
