The processes that mark the modern business environment – the separation of
ownership from management, globalization, modern technologies, increasingly tightening
legal and accounting regulations as well as insistence on a corporate sustainability, result
among other things in the growing importance of improvement of the communication
process with individual and institutional investors for companies that raise additional funds
for their business operations through issuance of securities. A more favourable position of
a company in the capital market brings more favourable conditions for raising loans, lower
cost of capital, greater negotiation power, and improvement of recognition of products and
services.
Improvement of investor communication brings a particularly positive impact on
companies that are smaller in size or less recognizable in the global market, as is the case
with Serbian joint-stock companies. Nowadays, investors do not have time to analyse a
large number of individual financial statements, rather the company management needs to
get involved in attracting the preferred group of investors and future owners.
Improving the quality of investor relations can be achieved through the use of various
communication instruments, information enriching, and customization of the blend of
instruments to suit the appropriate target group in the investment public. Today, the focus
of investor relations switches from the distribution of financial statements only to the twoway
communication and reporting about additional non-financial indicators, which
contributes to common understanding between companies and the investment community
by analysis of motives, needs and attitudes of the opposite side. In this sense, investor
reporting activities are increasingly reaching the realm of public relations in terms of theory,
while, in practice, these activities occupy an increasingly important place in the corporate
strategy.
The main research objective of this doctoral dissertation is to identify the most important
available instruments of investor communication, their quality and content, since such
communication is one of strategic advantages of a company, and is also part of very current
and complex area of corporate communications in general

Toxicity of Silver Nanoparticles Supported by Surface-Modified Zirconium Dioxide with Dihydroquercetin
The antibacterial performance and cytotoxic examination of in situ prepared silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs), on inorganic-organic hybrid nanopowder consisting of zirconium dioxide nanoparticles (ZrO2 NPs) and dihydroquercetin (DHQ), was performed against Gram (−) bacteria Escherichia coli and Gram (+) bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, as well as against human cervical cancer cells HeLa and healthy MRC-5 human cells. The surface modification of ZrO2 NPs, synthesized by the sol-gel method, with DHQ leads to the interfacial charge transfer (ICT) complex formation indicated by the appearance of absorption in the visible spectral range. The prepared samples were thoroughly characterized (TEM, XRD, reflection spectroscopy), and, in addition, the spectroscopic observations are supported by the density functional theory (DFT) calculations using a cluster model. The concentration- and time-dependent antibacterial tests indicated a complete reduction of bacterial species, E. coli and S. aureus, for all investigated concentrations of silver (0.10, 0.25, and 0.50 mg/mL) after 24 h of contact. On the other side, the functionalized ZrO2 NPs with DHQ, before and after deposition of Ag NPs, do not display a significant decrease in the viability of HeLa MRC-5 cells in any of the used concentrations compared to the contro

SOCIJALNE PENZIJE KAO MOGUĆI MODEL SMANJENJA SIROMAŠTVA, DISKRIMINACIJE I SOCIJALNE ISKLJUČENOSTI STARIJIH U REPUBLICI SRBIJI
Poverty as a social phenomenon represents one of the biggest problems today, both globally and in the Republic of Serbia. Socially sensitive categories are at particular risk of poverty, including the elderly population. In this regard, elderly poverty is interconnected with discrimination against the elderly and their social exclusion. Therefore, one of the most common challenges that old age imposes is the issue of financial security for the elderly after reaching a certain age. There is a certain number of elderly people who have reached the retirement age prescribed by law but, due to various circumstances, have not met the requirements for acquiring the right to retirement, disability or a family pension. In such situations, the only currently available option of material security for that group of people in Serbia is the realization of the right to benefits within the social protection system. In addition to the previously mentioned support through the social protection system, there has been a social pension institute as a security model for decades in various social security systems. The primary objective of social pensions is to reduce the poverty rate among the elderly, primarily ensuring social security for individuals who have not qualified for retirement pensions, while simultaneously decreasing the overall poverty rate in society, thereby ensuring the conditions for achieving social justice as the fundamental goal of social law. The subject of analysis in this paper is social pension as one of the possible models for reducing elderly poverty, discrimination and social exclusion in the Republic of Serbia.

Use of Social Media in Investor Relations in Serbia
When participating at the stock market, companies seek for more attention both from professional and individual investors. In trying to achieve investors' attention companies can use many forms of communication, including social media, as long as regulatory requirements are fulfilled. Social media are becoming more and more important in the corporations' communication with investors, but this kind of communication has its own rules and subjects. In order to analyze if Serbian corporations use social media for investor communication at all, a content analyses of web sites and social media pages of companies whose shares are listed on the Belgrade Stock Exchange has been conducted. The results show that Serbian companies do not use social media for communication with investors, which may be a disadvantage, especially having in mind lack of recognition of Serbian shareholding companies in the global market
Photocatalytic ability of visible-light-responsive hybrid ZrO2 particles
The interfacial charge transfer (ICT) complex formation between zirconium dioxide (ZrO2), the material absorbing below 250 nm, and 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) leads to the formation of visible-light-absorbing inorganic–organic hybrids. The free amino groups, present on the hybrid's surface after the ICT complex formation, were used to reduce silver ions and link silver particles to ZrO2. The prepared samples were characterized by using transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, and nitrogen adsorption–desorption isotherms. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations using a cluster model are applied to explain optical changes in hybrids, i.e., absorption redshift induced by the ICT complex formation. Decolorization of an organic dye crystal violet (CV), under ultraviolet-C or visible light, was used to compare the photocatalytic ability of the prepared samples. The ICT complex formation transformed ZrO2 into a hybrid material able to induce photocatalytic reactions under exclusive visible light excitation
