Online cooperative learning: exploring perspectives of preservice teachers after the pandemic

    Get PDF
Mainly, research has explored pre-service teachers’ perspectives toward cooperative learning within face-to-face teaching. However, in a postpandemic scenario, previous research has yet to effectively explore preservice teachers’ (PSTs) perspectives toward online cooperative learning (OCL) in teacher education programs. So, recognizing the gap in the literature, this paper aims to explore the perspectives of PSTs towards OCL. The researchers employed a qualitative research design for the present study. The researchers conducted semi-structured interviews with 10 PSTs who underwent OCL during the pandemic. These PSTs may possess digital proficiency, virtual collaboration abilities, flexibility in evolving educational environments, and an enhanced understanding of online cooperative learning methodologies within modern education. Researchers employed a thematic analysis to analyze the qualitative data obtained. The various themes that emerged from the study are perceived benefits of OCL, challenges to OCL, technological proficiency, learning strategies and support, and building a supportive online learning community. Future researchers may contribute to advancing effective online learning practices by gaining a deeper understanding of pre-service teachers’ perspectives towards OCL through research on a larger scale, including various teacher education programs in various countries

Implementation of a three Phase Inverter with a Front End Diode Rectifier Using Average Model

As technology grows every day, the study of power systems has shifted its direction to power electronics to produce the most efficient energy conversion. Power electronics is the study of processing and controlling the flow of electric energy by supplying voltages and currents in a form that is suited for user loads. A power electronic system is any technical system which is an assembly of components such as AC to DC converters (rectifiers) and DC to AC converters (inverters), that are connected together to form a functioning machine or an operational procedure. The paper presents the implementation of a three phase inverter with a front end diode rectifier. The components are modeled separately using the state space average method

ABSTRACT. The present study is aimed to synthesise Schiff bases from sulfathiazole/ sulfamethoxazole/ sulfadimidine with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde. The synthesized Schiff bases were characterized by analytical data, IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, UV-Vis spectra, mass spectra and screened for antibacterial activity against gram positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and gram negative bacteria Salmonella typhiand antifungal activity against Candida albicans and Mucor by disc diffusion method. Zone of inhibition indicated that the Schiff base possessed highly potent antimicrobial activity when compared to sulpha drugs.                     KEY WORDS: 4-Amino-N-(1,3-thiazol-2-yl)benzenesulfonamide, 4-amino-N-(5-methylisoxazol-3-yl)-benzenesulfonamide, 4-amino-N-(4,6-dimethylpyrimidin-2-yl)benzenesulfonamide, 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde, antimicrobial activity   Bull. Studies on intraspecific variations in insect pests are an important tool for preparation of management strategy in different geographical regions. In this paper we tried to establish that these variations are also found in the diamondback moth (P. xylostella) populations under north Indian conditions with respect to reproductive biology. The pest populations were collected from five different geographical regions viz. Hisar (800feet), Kangra (2200feet), Solan (4200 feet), Theog (7500feet) and Kinnaur (9000feet) and then reared under laboratory conditions at 25±1oC on cauliflower. The life table analysis revealed that the female from the Kangra population laid maximum eggs (332.16 eggs/female) whereas the number of eggs laid by the female from the Hisar, Solan, Theog and Kinnaur population was 189.53, 207, 252 and 270 eggs/female, respectively. The doubling time (DT) was observed to be the lowest for Kangra (3.12 days) and maximum for the Hisar (4.59 days) population, whereas weekly multiplication rate was minimum for the Solan (2.252) and maximum for the kangra (4.73) population. The true generation time was the lowest for the Kangra (18.54 days) and highest for the Hisar (24.38 days) population. The true intrinsic rate of increase (rm) was found to be maximum (0.222 female progeny/female/day) for the Kangra whereas for the Kinnaur, Theog, Solan and Hisar population it was 0.203, 0.202, 0.182 and 0.151 female progeny/female/day thereby indicating that the Kangra population is more prolific as compared to the population from other geographical regions. The results are indicative of geographical variations among different populations of P. xylostella

<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>The synthesis of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) has received considerable attention with their potential applications in various life sciences related applications. Recently, there has been tremendous excitement in the study of nanoparticles synthesis by using some natural biological system, which has led to the development of various biomimetic approaches for the growth of advanced nanomaterials. In the present study, we have demonstrated the synthesis of gold nanoparticles by a novel bacterial strain isolated from a site near the famous gold mines in India. A promising mechanism for the biosynthesis of GNPs by this strain and their stabilization via charge capping was investigated.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>A bacterial isolate capable of gold nanoparticle synthesis was isolated and identified as a novel strain of <it>Stenotrophomonas malophilia </it>(AuRed02) based on its morphology and an analysis of its 16S rDNA gene sequence. After 8 hrs of incubation, monodisperse preparation of gold nanoparticles was obtained. Gold nanoparticles were characterized and found to be of ~40 nm size. Electrophoresis, Zeta potential and FTIR measurements confirmed that the particles are capped with negatively charged phosphate groups from NADP rendering them stable in aqueous medium.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>The process of synthesis of well-dispersed nanoparticles using a novel microorganism isolated from the gold enriched soil sample has been reported in this study, leading to the development of an easy bioprocess for synthesis of GNPs. This is the first study in which an extensive characterization of the indigenous bacterium isolated from the actual gold enriched soil was conducted. Promising mechanism for the biosynthesis of GNPs by the strain and their stabilization via charge capping is suggested, which involves an NADPH-dependent reductase enzyme that reduces Au3+ to Au0 through electron shuttle enzymatic metal reduction process.</p

Performance Analysis of Software Implementation of Reproducing Music from Musical Notes (Mozart)

In this research take a picture of Mozart of any music or instrument than the process on the captured image and all information pass to the MATLAB for image processing. The Algorithm separates the one line of Mozart and then separate another line in this way separate line by line of the whole Mozart. After separating line another step is to separate beat one by one from the separated line from the picture of Mozart. In this way, all the line and beats of Mozart are separated using the MATLAB software. When all the beats and lines are individual then find the meaning according to their symbol and combined the entire tune related to whole music or instrument. Then whole the music which is combining from the image of Mozart (musical notes) is played through the MATLAB software
