Analyzing Audience Awareness in Academic Writing Among Undergraduates

The teaching of writing has undergone many stages over the years—from product approach, to process approach, and then to cognitive approach. Recently, the approaches to the teaching of writing have shifted to social orientation. Researchers are encouraged to write for specific audiences. We undergo through three basic writing stages: (a) planning, (b) translating and (c)evaluating. Generally all writers will undergo these three processes, but what differentiates one writer form the other is the way they behave in each process. Nevertheless, better writers write with the audience in mind and are more careful with their writing process. As such, audience awareness is a characteristic of skilled writers and some writers write with the audience, while some do not. This study explores the writing process and audience awareness of undergraduates who have undergone a semester of a course in research writing. Using a questionnaire as the instrument, the quantitative data reveal interesting implications towards the teaching of academic writing in higher institutions

Analisis Efisiensi Penggunaan Input Produksi pada USAhatani Padi Sawah di Desa Posona Kecamatan Kasimbar Kabupaten Parigi Moutong

This research aims to determine the efficiency of use of inputs of land, seed, fertilizer, labor, and pesticides on the farm production of paddy in Posona village, Kasimbar District, Parigi Moutong Regency. This research was conducted in December 2015.The data used in this study derived from primary and secondary data. The number of respondents used as many as 34 farmers were selected using simple random sampling technique.The analysis used is the Cobb Douglas production function analysis.The results showed that simultaneous independent variable (Xi) has significant effect on the dependent variable (Y) except the variable oflabor (X4), and pesticides (X5). Aspartial, land area (X1), seeds (X2), and fertilizers (X3), significantly affect the production of paddy in the Village Posona, Kasimbar District Parigi Moutong Regency, with the value of sig 0.000 <0.05 in α 5%. Analysis of efficiency showsed that the total value (k) of the variable land area (X1), seeds (X2), fertilizers (X3) labor (X4) and pesticides (X5), was greater than 1, it mean that all production inputs used in farming rice paddy in the village of Posona,in terms of the price of each input is expressed not efficient production except labor variable (X4) and Pesticides (X3) having a value of 0:01 and 0 which is smaller than 1 so inefficient

Makna Kekerabatan Dalam Budaya Lonto Leok Pada Proses Pilkada Di Manggarai Barat

Contoh dari hubungan antara budaya dan politik bisa tergambarkan pada isu kekerabatan&nbsp; pada pilkada Manggarai Barat 2020 yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini. Fenomena kekerabatan yang dimaksud adalah adanya kecenderungan dari masyarakat Manggarai Barat pada umumnya untuk memilih pemimpin yang seasal atau karena faktor kekerabatan dan kekeluargaan atau dikenal sebagai budaya lonto leok yang masih kuat mempengaruhi kehidupan masyarakat termasuk politik. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma interpretif dengan metode penelitian Fenomenologi. Adapun pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan data primer yaitu melakukan wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi serta data sekunder berupa studi kepustakaan. Wawancara dilakukan kepada para informan yang melakukan lonto leok menjelang Pilkada Mabar Tahun 2020 dan juga pada pilkada-pilkada sebelumnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makna kekerabatan dalam budaya lonto leok pada proses pilkada di Manggarai Barat adalah kebersamaan dan ketergantungan. One of them many examples about the relationship between culture and politics can be illustrated in the issue of kinship in the 2020 West Manggarai regional election discussed in this study. The kinship phenomenon in question is the tendency of the West Manggarai community in general to choose leaders who are in the same kinship and it is known as the lonto leok culture which still strongly influences people's life, including politics. This study uses an interpretive paradigm with phenomenological research methods. The research data collection was carried out with primary data, namely conducting in-depth interviews and documentation and secondary data in the form of literature study. Interviews were conducted with informants who conducted lonto leok ahead of the 2020 Mabar Pilkada and also in the previous pilkada. The results showed that the meaning of kinship in the lonto leok culture in the election process in West Manggarai was togetherness and dependence. In the process of determining the position required a decision support system. One method that can be used for the Decision Support System is using the Profile Matching. This research will be appointed a case of finding the best solution bedasarkan competence of employees at PT. Infosarana Partner Profile matching method. This method was chosen because it is able to select the best candidates from a number of existing employees, in this case meant that candidates eligible employees whose positions are available based on the criteria specified. Analisis Tingkat Kesejahteraan Masyarakat di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat Menggunakan Model Regresi Multivariat

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui model hubungan antara laju Pertumbuhan Ekonomi, tingkat Produk Domestik Regional Bruto per kapita, dan Indeks Pembangunan Manusia terhadap variabel-variabel penunjang berdasarkan analisis regresi multivariat dalam menganalisis tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat dengan pemilihan model terbaik menggunakan metode KICC. Variabel-variabel penunjang tersebut adalah angka harapan hidup, tingkat pengangguran terbuka, pengeluaran perkapita, tingkat kemiskinan, dan pendapatan asli daerah. Data tersebut dipublikasikan oleh Badan Pusat Statistik Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat tahun 2018. Pada penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa terdapat tiga variabel yang berpengaruh positif terhadap kesejahteraan masyarakat di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat yaitu angka harapan hidup, pengeluaran perkapita, dan pendapatan asli daerah. Sedangkan dua variabel lainnya berpengaruh negatif. Adapun hubungan antara variabel-variabel prediktor terhadap variabel respon secara simultan adalah sebesar , hal ini berarti bahwa model dapat menjelaskan informasi data sebesar 99,99%.Kata kunci: Kesejahteraan, Analisis Regresi multivariat , KICCAbstract. This study aims to determine the model of the relationship between the rate of economic growth, the level of Gross Domestic Product Regional each capita, and the Human Development Index for supporting variables base on multivariate regression analysis to analyze the level of public welfare in West Nusa Tenggara Province by selecting the best model using the KICC method. The supporting variables were life expectancy, unemployment rate, expenditure each capita, poverty level, and local income. The data was published by the Central Bureau of Statistics of West Nusa Tenggara Province on 2018. The result shows that there are three variables which have shown a positive impact on the public welfare in West Nusa Tenggara Province, namely life expectancy, expenditure each capita, and local income. However, the others have shown a negative impact. The relation between predictors and response simultaneously is  = 0.999990324, it means that the data is explainable 99.99% by the model.Keywords: Welfare, Analysis of e Regression, KICC

Effect Size Catfish (Pangasius Pangasius) on Resistance and Speed Pool for Fisheries Development Capture

The purpose of this research is to know the characteristic of catfish based on it's size, age and the ability of swimming. The special purpose is to know and examine the swimming durance, swimming speed, maximum swimming speed and prolonged swimming speed of catfish that will be compared with the review of literature through this experiment method. The result of this experiment shows that the swimming durance, swimming speed, the maximum swimming speed and prolonged swimming speed of catfish will be weak in the certain speed when it is given the high stream flow

Faktor-faktor Motivasi Yang Mempengaruhi Mahasiswa Terhadap Minat Berwirausaha

This study aims to determine the motivation factors to influence interest in entrepreneurship. Respondents of this research is a student of Batam State Polytechnic from the Department of engineering and non-engineering. This study using multiple linear regression analysis, where the analysis tool is used to know the extent of the influence of risk tolerance (X1), work freedom (X2), and self-efficacy (X3) to student interest in entrepreneurship (Y). The results of the partial test showed that risk tolerance and self-efficacy had a positive and significant effect, however work freedom do not affect significantly the interest in entrepreneurship. While the result of the simultaneous test indicated that all independent variable had a positive and significant effect on students' interest in entrepreneurship

Sequential algorithm and numerical analysis on mathematical model for thermal control curing process of thermoset composite materials

To reproduce and improve the efficiency of waste composite materials with consistence and high quality, it is important to tailor and control their temperature profile during curing process. Due to this phenomenon, temperature profile during curing process between two layers of composite materials, which are, resin and carbon fibre are visualized in this paper. Thus, mathematical model of 2D convection-diffusion of the heat equation of thick thermoset composite during its curing process is employed for this study. Sequential algorithms for some numerical approximation such as Jacobi and Gauss Seidel are investigated. Finite difference method schemes such as forward, backward and central methods are used to discretize the mathematical modelling in visualizing the temperature behavior of composite materials. While, the physical and thermal properties of materials used from previous studies are fully employed. The comparisons of numerical analysis between Jacobi and Gauss Seidel methods are investigated in terms of time execution, iteration numbers, maximum error, computational and complexity, as well as root means square error (RMSE). The Fourth-order Runge-Kutta scheme is applied to obtain the degree of cure for curing process of composite materials. From the numerical analysis, Gauss Seidel method gives much better output compared to Jacobi method

The Effect of Competition and Interest Rates on Sales Volume Through Service Quality

PT Adira Finance is one of the companies engaged in services, the increasing number of Finance that has sprung up is one of the challenges of PT Adira Finance in maintaining and attracting new customers. The purpose of this study is to analyse the effect of competition, interest rates and sales volume through service quality. According to the results of SEM analysis based on data from questionnaires distributed to 185 respondents, it is known that competition has a significant effect on service quality, interest rates have a significant effect on service quality, sales volume has a significant effect on service quality, competition has a significant effect on sales volume through service quality with a coefficient value of 0.000, while interest rates do not have a significant effect on sales volume through service quality with a coefficient value of 0.055
