Baseline sensitivity of Phytophthora infestans lifecycle components to NC-224 20SC (Amisulbrom 200g/l)
Residual strain in free-standing CdTe nanowires overgrown with HgTe
We investigate the crystal properties of CdTe nanowires overgrown with HgTe.
Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and scanning transmission electron
microscopy (STEM) confirm, that the growth results in a high ensemble
uniformity and that the individual heterostructures are single-crystalline,
respectively. We use high-resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD) to investigate
strain, caused by the small lattice mismatch between the two materials. We find
that both CdTe and HgTe show changes in lattice constant compared to the
respective bulk lattice constants. The measurements reveal a complex strain
pattern with signatures of both uniaxial and shear strains present in the
overgrown nanowires
Multiqubit Spin
It is proposed that the state space of a quantum object with a complicated
discrete spectrum can be used as a basis for multiqubit recording and
processing of information in a quantum computer. As an example, nuclear spin
3/2 is considered. The possibilities of writing and reading two quantum bits of
information, preparation of the initial state, implementation of the "rotation"
and "controlled negation" operations, which are sufficient for constructing any

Generation of multi-octave spanning high-energy pulses by cascaded nonlinear processes in BBO
Path Integrals in Polar Field Variables in QFT
We show how to transform a -dimensional Euclidean path integral in terms
of two (Cartesian) fields to a path integral in terms of polar field variables.
First we present a conjecture that states how this transformation should be
done. Then we show that this conjecture is correct in the case of two toy
models. Finally the conjecture will be proven for a general QFT model with two
fields
Experimental realization of a continuous version of the Grover algorithm
A continuous, analog version of the Grover algorithm is realized using NMR.
The system studied is 23Na in a liquid crystal medium. The presence of
quadrupolar coupling makes the spin I=3/2 nucleus a 2-qubit system. Applying a
specially designed pulse sequence, the time evolution of the spin density
operator is described in an interaction representation which has no external
time-dependent radio-frequency fields. This approach is used to implement one
instance of the continuous Grover search for the transform of a uniform state
to a target state, and the implementation provides a clear physical
interpretation of the algorithm. The experimental results are in good agreement

A few exact solutions for the model of equal spin-spin interactions
For the model of equal spin-spin interactions, we obtain exact Heisenberg expressions for the spin operator components and use them to find the relations that hold for spin operators appearing in the thermodynamic mean. We use the obtained exact relations for the means to describe the thermodynamics of the model under consideration. © 2005 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc
Isolation of anonymous, polymorphic DNA fragments from human chromosome 22q12-qter
A series of 195 random chromosome 22-specific probes, equivalent to approximately 1% of the size of this chromosome, have been isolated from a chromosome 22-specific bacteriophage lambda genomic library. These probes were mapped to four different regions of chromosome 22 on a panel of five somatic cell hybrids. Restriction fragment length polymorphisms were detected by 28 of the probes mapping to 22q12-qter. Evolutionarily conserved sequences in human, mouse, and Chinese hamster DNA were detected by 12% of the isolated probes
