MatrigelBD, Un Andamiaje Biocompatible que Estimula la Proliferación de Celulas Troncales Mesenquimales Derivadas del Tejido Gingival.
MatrigelBD is a hydrogel scaffold with three-dimensional intercrossed networks of hydrophilic polymers with high water content. Human gingival tissue might represent a better source of MSCs, allowing these cells to be easily obtained in a relatively non-invasive way. The objective of this study was to evaluate the biocompatibility of MatrigelBD with GMSCs in vitro.
Gingival connective tissue samples were obtained from healthy donors. Fresh tissue was minced and cultured during two weeks, after which cells at passage fourth were analyzed for their immune phenotype by flow cytometry. Differentiation into osteogenic, chondrogenic, and adipogenic lineages was induced and evaluated by culture staining. The "construct" was made of MatrigelBD with GMSC. To assess
the biocompatibility, an MTT cellular proliferation assay was performed. The differentiation potential of the cells toward the osteogenic, adipogenic, and chondrogenic lineages was analyzed after 21 days of growth in MatrigelBD with induction differentiation media. The MTT analysis showed that MatrigelBD stimulated cell proliferation; the GMSCs maintained the expression of MSC markers. Importantly,
the growth of GMSCs within the MatrigelBD did not interfere with the cell differentiation potential. These findings indicate that MatrigelBD is biocompatible with GMSCs, and this matrix improves cell proliferation in vitro.publishedVersio
Estimation of Organic Matter Digestibility and Intake from Faecal Organic Matter and Daily N Excretion and Concentration
This study was performed with grazing sheep, to establish: a) if the amount of total faecal N (C; in g 100g-1 of organic matter intake (OMI)) remains constant at three feeding levels, in four utilisation periods of deferred Panicum coloratum cv. Verde; b) the relationship between C and faecal N fractions, and c) the relationship between faecal daily excretion of OM and N, and OMI. Intake increased (P\u3c 0.01) with utilisation period, and was related (r = - 0.82; P\u3c 0.01) to the protein content of food, the insoluble N fraction (r = -0.49; P\u3c 0.01) and the soluble:insoluble N ratio (r = 0.41; P\u3c 0.01) in faeces. No relation with total N concentration (r = -0.22; P\u3e 0.05) or soluble N fraction (r = -0.02; P\u3e 0.05) in faeces could be found. Daily excretion of OM and N were positively related (R2 = 0.93 and 0.96, respectively; P\u3c 0.01) to OMI. The slopes of regression lines, but not the intercepts, were different (P\u3c 0.01) between evaluation periods. The digestibility can be estimated from OMI and faecal N whenever time of the year is taken into consideration
Intake Estimation of Rams under Grazing Condition in a Deferred Pastures of \u3ci\u3ePanicum coloratum\u3c/i\u3e by Two Techniques
The goal of this study was to quantify the organic matter intake (OMI) of Pampinta rams grazing in a Panicum coloratum cv Verde differed pasture. The OMI was compared by two methods: a) the difference between the forage measured in pre and post-grazing condition, and b) the faecal production:digestibility ratio of the diet, estimated by total faecal gathering, and from the quantity of total faecal N in g per 100 g-1 of OMI and the concentration of total faecal N, respectively. The OMI estimated by difference between the forage measured in pre and post-grazing was 9 % higher (P\u3c 0,05) than the one estimated from total faecal gathering and OMD. Interaction was not detected (P\u3e 0,10) between treatments (length of the deferment period) and estimation method. The use of the faecal N can be utilized, considering the time of the year, to estimate the OMD and OMI in grazing condition in P. coloratum deferred pastures
Development of poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid)/bioglass fibers using an electrospinning technique.
This work establishes experimental conditions for the synthesis of polymeric fibers using the electrospinning technique, modifying some operational parameters such as drum collector rotation speed and applied voltage were modified. The samples were obtained from a copolymer of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA), with a molecular weight of approximately 220,000 g/mol, dissolved in a dimethyl sulfoxide/dichloromethane (3:1 v/v) solution. With the aim of developing scaffolds for bone tissue engineering, we added a calcium phosphate glass based on 44.5Ca0-44.5P2O5-11Na2O to the fibrous PLGA structures. The preliminary characterization of these PLGA structures with and without the addition of biodegradable glass was performed using SEM analysis. We found the formation of aligned and homogeneous fibers with an average diameter of 5.2 ± 2.1 µm when using the 800 rpm - 8cm - 9 kV parameters. In addition, the incorporation of 1 wt% of previously silanized calcium phosphate particles substantially altered the fiber morphology and porosity. However, a substantial increase in the bioactivity of the composite was observed in contrast with the unmodified PLGA
The convergence method to calculate particles fluxes in x rays spectrometry techniques. Application in nuclear compounds
A method to calculate particle fluxes applicable in most of the spectroscopy
techniques is described. Flux intensities of backscattered or absorbed
electrons and emitted photons are calculated using a method of convergence to
solve the Invariant Embedding equations that are used to describe the particle
trajectories inside a solid sample. Our results are found to be helpful to
carry out a procedure for quantitative characterization using instrument such
as Electron Probe Microanalysis or other probes. Examples of application to
calculate the composition of ternary alloys are given and are compared with the
same calculations using another procedure.Comment: 15 page
Loop Quantum Cosmology: A Status Report
The goal of this article is to provide an overview of the current state of
the art in loop quantum cosmology for three sets of audiences: young
researchers interested in entering this area; the quantum gravity community in
general; and, cosmologists who wish to apply loop quantum cosmology to probe
modifications in the standard paradigm of the early universe. An effort has
been made to streamline the material so that, as described at the end of
section I, each of these communities can read only the sections they are most
interested in, without a loss of continuity.Comment: 138 pages, 15 figures. Invited Topical Review, To appear in Classical

Quantization of Midisuperspace Models
We give a comprehensive review of the quantization of midisuperspace models.
Though the main focus of the paper is on quantum aspects, we also provide an
introduction to several classical points related to the definition of these
models. We cover some important issues, in particular, the use of the principle
of symmetric criticality as a very useful tool to obtain the required
Hamiltonian formulations. Two main types of reductions are discussed: those
involving metrics with two Killing vector fields and spherically symmetric
models. We also review the more general models obtained by coupling matter
fields to these systems. Throughout the paper we give separate discussions for
standard quantizations using geometrodynamical variables and those relying on
loop quantum gravity inspired methods.Comment: To appear in Living Review in Relativit
Collective mapping: participatory approaches to community health-disease-care process
Angulation in different planes of the neck of abdominal aortic aneurysms may be considered a limiting factor in the implantation of different prostheses in the treatment of this pathology. It is necessary to make an assessment of the angles in different planes in routine studies prior to the planning of the procedures and especially by AngioTAC. The study evaluated the measurement of 507 patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms and treated endovascular procedures and of whom the complete information was available at the level of neck angulations. In a prospective and descriptive study the situation of this aortic sector was evaluated, contributing information about the tendency in the morphological presentation of the aorta in patients with this aetiolog
