In the title coordination polymer, {[Zn(SO4)(C18H16N6O2)(H2O)3]·CH3OH·H2O}n, the Zn2+ ion adopts a slightly distorted cis-ZnN2O4 octahedral geometry arising from three coordinated water molecules, one sulfate ion and two bridging 3,3′-bis(3-pyridyl)-1,1′-(m-phenylene)diurea (bpmpbu) ligands. The dihedral angles between the central benzene ring and two terminal pyridine rings of the bpmbpu molecule are 10.58 (17) and 34.63 (16)°. In the crystal, the ligands bridge the ZnII ions, thus generating a one-dimensional zigzag coordination polymer propagating in [010]. The crystal structure features extensive N—H⋯O and O—H⋯O hydrogen-bonding interactions

Performance and Security Enhancement of AODV Protocol under Black Hole Attack

    Get PDF
As in the convention of the wireless there are two types of wireless networks namely with base station (cell phone technology) and adhoc networks without base station. As adhoc networks play an important role in military based applications as centralized base station cannot be placed. So, the adhoc networks came into existence. As in the conventional adhoc networks the routing protocols are AODV. The AODV is based on IEEE802.11 the AODV uses destination based routing. As AODV cannot withstand blackhole attack. So the SAODV came into existence. In this paper we will present multihop adhoc networks and then the security for AODV is discussed. DOI: 10.17762/ijritcc2321-8169.15024

Buckeye rot disease of tomato which is one of the most devastating diseases of tomato crop is caused by soil born fungus Phytophthora nicotianae var. parasitica. In present study, the pathogen was isolated, morphologically identified and its pathogenicity was proved on susceptible commercial variety Solan Lalima and resistant line EC-251649 of tomato. Isolation of pathogen from the infected tomato fruit was achieved on Corn Meal Agar (CMA) out of two different media viz., Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) and CMA. Fungal inoculum was prepared on Corn Meal broth. Inoculation with 10 ml of inoculum was found optimum in plant parts namely, stem, leaves and fruits. Parental lines were inoculated to test their disease reaction to buckeye rot. Symptoms of infection appeared on leaves and fruits only. Solan Lalima was found to be highly susceptible to with disease severity of 92 % and 100 % disease incidence, while EC-251649 was found moderately resistant on the basis of 16 % disease severity and 10 % disease incidence to the disease. After confirmation of resistance and susceptibility, the parental lines were surveyed for polymorphism using 42 primers and 32 were recorded to be polymorphic revealing that the differences are present at DNA level also. This is the very first study which evaluated parental lines for buckeye rot disease reaction on morphological as well as molecular basis. These lines will be further used for quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis/gene tagging for buckeye rot and marker assisted selection to provide improved varieties to the farmers

Coordination polymers built from 1,4-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene : from crystalline to amorphous

    Get PDF
The supramolecular chemistry of the bis-imidazole ligand 1,4-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene, popularly known as bix, has been explored by various researchers in order to synthesize functional coordination polymers (CPs). The flexibility of the bix ligand, its unpredictable conformation and its coordination behaviour with transition metal ions have resulted in a huge number of structurally diverse and functionally intriguing CPs. In this perspective review we discuss the progress in CPs of bix between 1997 and today. More precisely, this review emphasizes the developments in functional supramolecular coordination polymers built from the bix ligand, from crystalline materials to amorphous nanomaterials

A case study on deterioration assessment and rehabilitation of fire damaged reinforced concrete structure

    Get PDF
Fire is one of the most severe hazards that building structures may experience during their lifetime. A fire spread to the whole structure can cause unexpected damages to the structural elements. Mainly, the building type is crucially important for the type and the level of damage to the building because of the fire. Post fire investigation of damaged structure is required to determine the extent of damage to concrete elements and to work out system of effective repair/rehabilitation measures to maintain the structural integrity of fire effected structural components. The paper covers in brief the strength and durability study on fire damaged building in Delhi, India. The study reports the extent of fire damage. Optical Microscopy (OM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Deferential Thermal Analysis (DTA) studies were carried out on the sample concrete cores extracted from different identified portions of the fire exposed concrete are highlighted in this paper. Extent of damage occurred in the Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) i.e. RCC columns/beams/slabs are described based on the detailed evaluation by various Non-Destructive Evaluation Techniques covering Cover study & Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) testing. Repair and remedial measures required for restoration and strengthening of the fire affected RCC columns/beams/slabs using indigenously available repair materials and techniques are also highlighted in this paper

Applying Brain Computer Interface Technology for Playing Games

    Get PDF
Brain Computer Interfaces are specialized systems that allows users to control computer applications using their brain waves. Initially, BCI were mostly used in medical field. But after some research and thanks to consumer-grade electroencephalography (EEG) devices, many applications and research opportunities were opened outside of the medical field. One particular area that is gaining more evidence due to the arrival consumer-grade devices is that of computer games, as it allows more user-friendly applications of BCI technology for the general public. In this report, we are going to talk about one of those games, Maze game. It will be a 2D maze, path known to the user. Using the EEG device named Neurosky Brain Wave Kit user will be able to move the avatar in order to reach the goal from the starting position

Coal-based thermal power plants all over the world facing serious problems of handling and disposal of the ash produced. The productive use of coal Bottom Ash (BA) is the best way to alleviate the problems associated with its disposal. This paper covers the studies on laboratory scale evaluation of vibro compaction concrete blocks using BA I, BA II & BA III collected from three different location of Coal Fed Thermal Power Station. In the present investigation laboratory investigation have been carried to utilize BA as part replacement of sand in concrete. This study cover manufacture of concrete blocks without flyash & with BA using for making solid block as per specification laid down in IS:2185 using vibro compaction machine. Three different sources of BA were used in concrete mix each @ 30%, 40% & 50% replacement by weight of sand were adopted in making concrete blocks. Comparative study of compressive strength of concrete at different age of curing, wet density, drying shrinkage is reported in this study. Wet density is found to be lower in blocks containing BA & dry shrinkage values are found well within the limits of specifications. Concrete Blocks having BA @ 30% by weight of sand are found suitable for use in the manufacture of concrete blocks

Iatrogenic vascular injuries are rare but potentially devastating complications of total knee arthroplasty (TKA). This retrospective study analyzes vascular injuries associated with total knee arthroplasties in an urban, tertiary level referral hospital between 01 April 2010 to 31 March 2020 consisting of 6548 TKAs. Six patients sustained vascular injuries which included five primary, and one revision TKAs. Three patients were bilateral, and two were unilateral primary TKAs. The mean age-adjusted Charlson’s comorbidity index was two (range 1-3). Only two injuries were recognized intraoperatively. They underwent successful vascular repair. The third patient was diagnosed and underwent a vascular repair on the first postoperative day but experienced a permanent foot drop. Two other patients underwent thrombectomy on the fifth postoperative day; one required above-knee amputation, and the other continued to suffer from vascular claudication and paraesthesia. Another patient developed a pseudoaneurysm, which was identified and repaired five months after the primary TKA. The site of vascular injury was popliteal artery in five and superficial femoral artery in one patient. The mechanism of injury was a direct laceration in three, posterior Hohman's retractor in one, the effect of tourniquet on calcified vessels in one, and unknown in one patient. Early recognition was the only factor that significantly altered the functional outcome and limb salvage. Bilateral simultaneous total knee arthroplasties had no higher risks. A mandatory institutional protocol to recognize the early signs of vascular injuries is necessary for successful vascular repair
