Adaptive channel selection for DOA estimation in MIMO radar

We present adaptive strategies for antenna selection for Direction of Arrival (DoA) estimation of a far-field source using TDM MIMO radar with linear arrays. Our treatment is formulated within a general adaptive sensing framework that uses one-step ahead predictions of the Bayesian MSE using a parametric family of Weiss-Weinstein bounds that depend on previous measurements. We compare in simulations our strategy with adaptive policies that optimize the Bobrovsky- Zaka{\i} bound and the Expected Cram\'er-Rao bound, and show the performance for different levels of measurement noise.Comment: Submitted to the 25th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO), 201

Relación Entre Los Deberes Para Casa y el Rendimiento Académico del Alumnado de Primaria

Homework is a complex phenomenon that is related to many variables to consider. Many authors defend the relationship of homework with the improvement of the students’ academic performance. This descriptive and correlational research studies and analyses variables, which may have a significant influence between homework and academic performance. The study sample was composed of 747 students, 679 families, and 57 teachers of 4th, 5th, and 6th grade of Primary Education. The informants answered three questionnaires built ad hoc for each group. Among the main variables and relationships analyzed, the frequency of the performance of homework, doing homework with help, the time invested in them or the degree of difficulty of homework, which were all related to performance, were found. Prior to the main conclusions of the study, it was found that there is no significant relationship between investing more time on homework and getting better grades; there is a relationship between perceived difficulty in tasks and poor performance; students have better grades when they try harder, have optimal conditions for doing homework and when the type of homework entails studying and/or reviewing

Comparación de los hábitos de consumo de carne de conejo entre consumidores jóvenes y compradores tradicionales de Sevilla

Se estudiaron los hábitos de consumo de carne de conejo de 499 estudiantes universitarios y de 399 compradores en mercados tradicionales de Sevilla (España). Los estudiantes universitarios afirmaron haber probado (67,9%) y consumir actualmente (38,6%) la carne de conejo en menor proporción que los compradores tradicionales (prueban: 84,5%; consumen: 46,6%). Ambos grupos afirman que les gusta esta carne en la misma proporción (78%).Las mujeres, sobre todo jóvenes, afirmaron haber probado y que les gusta en menor proporción esta carne que en el caso de los hombres. Se reveló además un mayor hábito de consumo y preferencia por la carne de conejo de monte en comparación con la del de granja, siendo la carne de conejo de monte preferida a la del de granja por un 88,2% de los consumidores sin distinción de grupo. Se dedujo una disminución del consumo de la carne de conejo entre los jóvenes en comparación con los compradores en mercados tradicionales

Identidad y competencias interculturales

Nos proponemos los siguientes objetivos: Identificar las circunstancias personales y familiares relacionadas con el proceso de integración social de los inmigrantes en Granada, conocer sus expectativas de promoción personal y social, así como identificar el desarrollo de competencias interculturales como base para la constante reconstrucción de la identidad. Tres han sido los colectivos de estudio: inmigrantes magrebíes, latinoamericanos y europeos del este. La metodología utilizada ha sido la entrevista y el cuestionario. En los resultados aportamos importante información para la caracterización de la inmigración en Granada y las competencias interculturales para una integración social y cultural de los mismos

Nos ha permitido obtener un producto de unas características hasta ahora desconocidas, con un perfil de ácidos grasos mono y poliinsaturados, y unas características físico-químicas que hacen que nuestro producto puede considerarse como un “ALIMENTO FUNCIONAL”

From circular paths to elliptic orbits: A geometric approach to Kepler's motion

The hodograph, i.e. the path traced by a body in velocity space, was introduced by Hamilton in 1846 as an alternative for studying certain dynamical problems. The hodograph of the Kepler problem was then investigated and shown to be a circle, it was next used to investigate some other properties of the motion. We here propose a new method for tracing the hodograph and the corresponding configuration space orbit in Kepler's problem starting from the initial conditions given and trying to use no more than the methods of synthetic geometry in a sort of Newtonian approach.
