Objective: Our aim is to investigate the clinical attitudes and behaviors of pediatric dentists during the new normalization period of the COVID-19 pandemic.Materials and methods: Our study was conducted online among pediatric dentistry specialists working in Turkey and a total of 256 people participated. According to personal information, the six questions asked in the second part were analyzed in terms of physicians' adaptation to the new normal order, clinical arrangements, measures to be taken, and their approaches to treatment procedures. Results: The responses to the option "my anxiety has decreased and I have learned to live with this situation" were mostly found in women (42.86%), those with a working period of 1-5 years (42.11%) and pediatric dentists aged 20-25 years (42.86%). In our study, it was observed that ART was practiced more in public hospitals (100%) compared to university and private hospitals. It was observed that 73.91% of pediatric dentists working in university hospitals preferred panoramic films. This rate was significantly higher than those working in state and private hospitals. Conclusions: It was observed that the pediatric dentists participating in our study acted in accordance with the precautions and measures during the new normalization period. In this process, procedures that produce less aerosol were preferred more frequently

A genetic algorithm-based search for parametric reform alternatives for the Turkish pension system : 2005-2060

Ankara : The Department of Economics, Bilkent Univ., 2005.Thesis (Master's) -- Bilkent University, 2005.Includes bibliographical references leaves 54-55.In this thesis, we search for parametric reform alternatives so as to achieve a balance in the long term accumulated difference between pension expenditures and revenues of the SSI, the largest pension fund in Turkey, from 2005 to 2060. The projected worker-retiree composition of the pension system is allowed to change along with proposed policy changes in contribution and replacement rates. These changes in population structure are modeled by estimated work and pension income elasticities of labor supply values so that the resulting changes in the incomes of the worker could now affect the retirement decision. Possible policy alternatives are then found by a genetic algorithm developed for this purpose. Finally, the results obtained from the program are compared with previous and current reform proposals.Alparslan, Mustafa ArtunM.S

Although marine research on anthozoans began at the end of the 1800s with some reports on the occurrence in Turkey, comprehensive knowledge about their biotic features remains limited. This study is the first detailed diversity assessment of scleractinian corals inhabiting the Turkish waters. The surveys conducted on rocky habitats between 2011 and 2014 around the Dardanelles and Marmara Sea provided the distributional data of nine corals, five of which (Caryophyllia inornata, Paracyathus pulchellus, Polycyathus muellerae, Phyllangia mouchezii, Leptopsammia pruvoti) were recorded for the first time from the above-mentioned regions. During the surveys carried out at 200 stations down to 50 m depth, a total of 1072 scuba dives were made and the ecological features of habitats, physical characteristics of coral species and an updated list of corals as a contribution to the scleractinian fauna of Turkey were provided. The abundance rate of Polycyathus muellerae and Cladocora caespitosa in Eceabat and Dardanos regions was higher than at the other stations.    Although marine research on anthozoans began at the end of the 1800s with some reports on the occurrence in Turkey, comprehensive knowledge about their biotic features remains limited. The Scleractinian Cladocora caespitosa is reported for the first time from the Marmara Sea, Turkey. Five colonies of the elliptical Cladocora caespitosa were discovered at 7 m by scuba divers around Posidonia oceanica beds colonising a substrate of sand and rock. The colonies' characteristics were recorded with underwater apparatus with a close-up device and with a video system. The present paper provides the new updated area of the species on the Turkish coast

Increased neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio predicts persistent coronary no-flow after wire insertion in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention

OBJECTIVES: Acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction patients presenting persistent no-flow after wire insertion have a lower survival rate despite successful mechanical intervention. The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio has been associated with increased mortality and worse clinical outcomes in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. We hypothesized that an elevated neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio would also be associated with a persistent Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction flow grade of 0 after wire insertion in patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention. METHODS: A total of 644 patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction who underwent primary percutaneous coronary intervention within 12 hours of symptom onset were included in our study. Blood samples were drawn immediately upon hospital admission. The patients were divided into 3 groups according to their Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction flow grade: Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction flow grade 0 after wire insertion, Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction flow grade 1-3 after wire insertion and Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction flow grade 1-3 at baseline. RESULTS: The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio was significantly higher in the group with Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction flow grade 0 after wire insertion compared with the group with Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction flow grade 1-3 after wire insertion and the group with Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction flow grade 1-3 at baseline. The group with Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction flow grade 0 after wire insertion also had a significantly higher in-hospital mortality rate. Persistent coronary no-flow after wire insertion was independently associated with the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio. CONCLUSIONS: An increased neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio on admission is significantly associated with persistent coronary no-flow after wire insertion in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention

8th International Conference on the Mediterranean Coastal Environment, MEDCOAST 2007 -- 13 November 2007 through 17 November 2007 -- Alexandria -- 105145Northwestern Turkey is divided by a complex waterway that connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara and the Aegean Sea. The Turkish Straits, comprising the Çanakkale Strait, the Strait of Istanbul and the Sea of Marmara and are unique in many respects. There are 24 fisherman's shelters around the Çanakkale Strait and have very different structures. The first duty of the fisherman's shelter is to serve all manner of fishing vessels. The fisherman's shelters, both for fishery and for the acitivites of the ministry to be fulfilled, have a vital status and importance. Such places not only serve as a sheltering, safekeeping and service area for fisherman's vessels, but also as the first point to which the fishermen's catch has been put. Because of these characteristics, the inspectorships done by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs are mostly carried out in these areas. Although our fisherman's shelters are sufficient in number, some of them need to be developed their infrastructures and superstructures
