To design an interactive compact disk as an audiovisual resource to be used on english teaching-learning process in the ninth grade of basic education at 'El Triunfo' High School in the school year 2011-2012

How I would like to say that there is not a single problem in the English teaching-learning process as second language in my beloved city! But I can not do this! The problem has been kept quiet for long years, and almost everybody have become accomplices of a fact that we have been tried to cover during all those years: the lack of two of the most important skills in the communication, in English's teachers, not only of who we have educated ourselves in the University, and we are trying to transmit a knowledge that we do not acquire. The flaw is not alone our but of the same professors that taught us to be excellent grammarians, without any doubt, but they did not have developed its speaking and listening communication level, therefore we had two of the biggest holes in the development of our professionalism. The easiest thing was closing the School of Languages, not forcing teachers of the university to attend seminaries, workshops to demonstrate they are really qualified to be able to teach to teach. Another of the big problems is the fact of not knowing how to use strategies, TICs or any material resources in our classes. This project analyzes and it suggests a guide of concepts to understand the problem better and trying to improve the process transforming it from a vertical one...into a horizontal process which becomes the best medicine ever for a good development of the teaching-learning process

Influencia de un entorno virtual de enseñanza aprendizaje en la afectividad hacia las matemáticas de estudiantes de secundaria: estudio de casos

Presentamos un estudio de casos sobre cómo afecta el uso de un Entorno Virtual de Enseñanza y Aprendizaje (EVEA) en la afectividad hacia las matemáticas de un grupo de alumnos de secundaria. Para esta investigación se ha diseñado un EVEA basado en la programación, cuya estructura básica la constituyen Scratch, Edmodo, PowToon y actividades específicas correspondientes al currículo de Matemáticas de E.S.O. La metodología es experimental, con un grupo de contraste, un pre-test, un post-test y análisis de las respuestas obtenidas con un cuestionario diseñado ad-oc. Podemos concluir que se produjo un aumento de la afectividad y como consecuencia un cambio semi positivo en los resultados académicos

Efficient tool segmentation for endoscopic videos in the wild

In recent years, deep learning methods have become the most effective approach for tool segmentation in endoscopic images, achieving the state of the art on the available public benchmarks. However, these methods present some challenges that hinder their direct deployment in real world scenarios. This work explores how to solve two of the most common challenges: real-time and memory restrictions and false positives in frames with no tools. To cope with the first case, we show how to adapt an efficient general purpose semantic segmentation model. Then, we study how to cope with the common issue of only training on images with at least one tool. Then, when images of endoscopic procedures without tools are processed, there are a lot of false positives. To solve this, we propose to add an extra classification head that performs binary frame classification, to identify frames with no tools present. Finally, we present a thorough comparison of this approach with current state of the art on different benchmarks, including real medical practice recordings, demonstrating similar accuracy with much lower computational requirements

Aproximación al patrimonio fotográfico: tres acciones participativas

Este trabajo presenta el análisis de tres experiencias en las que la imagen fotográfica es el eje en común y la participación de los ciudadanos o de quienes se vinculan al proyecto desempeña un papel importante porque sus testimonios son piezas claves en la identificación del material visual. El apoyo de estos ciudadanos y su contacto con las imágenes, hace que ellos reconozcan la importancia de este material fotográfico, que al entrar en una plataforma que visibilice diferentes aspectos con los que se relaciona la imagen, establece conexiones que le dan nuevas lecturas. El valor de las imágenes fotográficas fortalecidas por acciones educativas y comunicativas, ayudan a la construcción del patrimonio fotográfico. Es una reflexión sobre cuáles son las acciones de las instituciones museales que permiten establecer vínculos con diferentes públicos a través de las historias familiares, y cómo las imágenes son activadoras de procesos de memoria e influyen en la construcción de identidad y el reconocimiento por lo pluricultural.Abstract. This is an analysis of three different experiences that have photographic image as a common theme and in which public participation play a major role, as much as the participation of the people directly involved in the project, since their testimony is key to the identification of visual material. Such support, along with direct contact with images, help the public acknowledge the significance of this photographic material, which once in a platform that highlights different aspects related to the image establishes new connections leading to new interpretations. The value of photographic images is reinforced by educational and communication activities, thus contributing to the construction of photographic heritage. Its a reflection about which are the actions of museal institutions that allow establish links with different audiences through familiar stories and how images are activators of memory processes and influence the construction of identity and recognition for the pluricultural.Maestrí

Geranium's response to compost based substrates

Substrates of manure compost, cotton gin trash compost, municipal solid waste compost and pine bark utilized as potting media for domestic use, produced an underdevelopment of geranium plants with respect to the control. This behaviour is related to the inferior physical properties of the compost-based potting media, nitro gen immobilization due to the high C/N ratio of pine bark, and probably lack of available phosphorus originated by high calcium and high pH of the compost-based media. Nitrogen fertilization and a longer period of cultivation diminished the differences between plants grown in the control and in compost-based media. Aproximación Sociocrítica Una experiencia de Formación de Profesorado en Educación Física

La importancia de la materia de Educación Física como uno de los principales vehículos promotores de vivencias respetuosas, democráticas y humanistas sobre el cuerpo va cobrando fuerza en nuestros tiempos a través de distintas intervenciones. Se presenta el siguiente estudio cuyo propósito es investigar las vivencias de un grupo de estudiantes de Magisterio en El Salvador (Centro América) que cursan la materia de Educación Física. La asignatura se plantea bajo una Orientación Comprensiva donde se relaciona con un enfoque para la transformación social. Los objetivos del estudio se interrelacionan con el tipo de orientación, donde se pretende comprender y conocer las relaciones psicosociales, planteamientos docentes en un futuro y la implicación con el entorno. A través de diarios de campo, evaluación grupal y entrevistas con preguntas guía, se intentan comprender los significados de la realidad objeto de estudio. Los resultados se dirigen a conocer una realidad con una carga elevada de aspectos psicosociales positivos, donde el cuerpo se vivencia de forma grupal y respetuosa. En cuanto a la forma de aplicar la asignatura como docentes, se observan planteamientos donde impera una visión relacionada con la salud física. La emergencia del papel del profesorado o la disposición hacia la materia pueden ser fenómenos a estudiar más a fondo en futuras investigaciones

El presente trabajo se basa, fundamentalmente, en dar un concepto de paraíso fiscal, que se encuentra definido de diferentes maneras según los Estados, así como analizar los criterios que hacen que un territorio se califique como tal. Hacemos referencia a las listas de territorios considerados como paraíso fiscal, así como aquellos que han dejado de serlo por firmar acuerdos de intercambio de información. Se hace una breve referencia a los territorios de nula tributación y su principal diferencia con los paraísos fiscales, así como a la calificación de estos paraísos fiscales tras la aprobación de la ley 26/2014, de 27 de noviembre. En última instancia se plantea una cuestión acerca de si esta figura, los paraísos fiscales, podrán llegar a desaparecer.<br /

Complete Plastid Genome Sequences of Two Species of the Neotropical Genus Brunellia (Brunelliaceae)

Here we present the first two complete plastid genomes for Brunelliaceae, a Neotropical family with a single genus, Brunellia. We surveyed the entire plastid genome in order to find variable cpDNA regions for further phylogenetic analyses across the family. We sampled morphologically different species, B. antioquensis and B. trianae, and found that the plastid genomes are 157,685 and 157,775 bp in length and display the typical quadripartite structure found in angiosperms. Despite the clear morphological distinction between both species, the molecular data show a very low level of divergence. The amount of nucleotide substitutions per site is one of the lowest reported to date among published congeneric studies (π = 0.00025). The plastid genomes have gene order and content coincident with other COM (Celastrales, Oxalidales, Malpighiales) relatives. Phylogenetic analyses of selected superrosid representatives show high bootstrap support for the ((C,M)O) topology. The N-fixing clade appears as the sister group of the COM clade and Zygophyllales as the sister to the rest of the fabids group
