The Role of Cytokines in Inflammatory Process of Knee Osteoarthritis: Systematic Review
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disorder that occurs in cartilage. OA is the main cause of disability in adults and generally characterized by pain to the joints that got pressured. Based on several previous studies, it is known that the incidence of osteoarthritis is correlated with synovial inflammation and that inflammatory cytokines play an important role in the expansion of osteoarthritis. Based on these things, the author intends to conduct a literature study with the aim of knowing the role of cytokines on inflammation in knee osteoarthritis. The research was conducted through PubMed and Science Direct databases. The results of the study showed that cytokines played negative different roles depending on the type of cytokines such as those found in knee OA inflammation. Conclusion: Cytokines have a negative effect because they can disrupt synovial tissue balance, induce catabolic processes, and induce osteoclast differentiation and subchondral bone resorption

Province Jawa Barat statistic data reveals about 1.996 tuberculosis (TB) patient are living in Depok.Dinas Kesehatan Depok 2016 report that Depok has 3.942 undernutrition children. This condition could increase TB transmission and mortality caused by TB in children. The purpose of this activity were to inform and increase knowledge about balance nutrition and prevention of TB transmission by giving counseling and pocketbook, know how to do anthropometric assessment and make daily food journal, and distribute fortified milk to increase children nutrition. The target were healty parents and TB infected parents with children undernutrition. The results of this activities shows children with 2 children with severe underweight and severe wasting (8,7%) and 21 children with moderate underweight and moderate wasting (91,3%). The knowledge are measured by questionare. The result about balance nutrition shows that 12 persons with good result (2,2%), 5 persons with moderate result (21,7%) and 6 persons with poor result (26,1%). TB knowledge shows 20 persons with good results (87%) and 3 persons with poor result (13%). Training on making daily food journal were doing by simulation and practice. The responder return the result of daily food journal 3 weeks after the counseling done
Instructor’s Role In The Conduction Of Basic Clinical Fitness In The Clinique Fitness Laboratory / Skills Laboratory
ABSTRACT
Teaching clinical skills is a must in the 21st century. Medical school is required to make its graduates as skilled and professional doctors need a lot of support such as clinical skill laboratory facilities (Skills Lab) and instructors. Students need to be given sufficient opportunities to practice basic clinical skills in a place that is comfortable, safe and controlled without fear of harming patients and can be monitored and assessed in accordance with the expected competencies. Clinical skill instructors are the cornerstones of basic clinical skills teaching process. The role of the instructor includes building two-way relationships for each individual student, giving feedback, becoming role models so that students will be responsible for carrying out each procedural step of clinical skills. Their role is very important in guiding and facilitating the students to practice clinical skill, making sure their skills progress, and preparing them to obtain the predetermined competency as a doctor
The Therapeutic Effects of West Indian Elm (Guazuma ulmifolia) Leaf Extract on Coronary Artery Atherosclerosis in Hypercholesterolemic Wistar Rats
This study aimed to determine the therapeutic effect of West Indian elm leaf extract on coronary artery atherosclerosis in hypercholesterolemia Wistar rats. Cholesterol, a key factor in the pathophysiology of coronary heart disease, is present in fat-containing diets. Orlistat is one of the medications that can reduce blood cholesterol levels, but since it has side effects, herbs are more preferable to it. One such herbal plant, West Indian elm (Guazuma ulmifolia), contains tannins, saponins, alkaloids, and flavonoids, secondary metabolites that carry the properties necessary to reduce blood cholesterol levels, in its leaves. In this experimental study, which focused on histopathological parameters to see the scale of progression of coronary artery atherosclerosis, 30 Wistar rats were induced with a high-fat diet and divided into 6 sample groups, consisting of three control groups (normal, negative, and positive) and three treatment groups (which received a West Indian elm leaf extract at 0.2, 0.4, and 0.8 g/kgBW). Significant results were obtained from both Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney tests (p<0.05) between the negative control group and the positive control group, between the negative control group and treatment group 2 (0.4 g/kgBW), and between the negative control group and treatment group 3 (0.8 g/kgBW). In conclusion, this study proved that West Indian elm (Guazuma ulmifolia) leaf extract reduces the development of coronary atherosclerosis and shares a similarity in therapeutic effect with orlistat
Behaviour test in chronic brain ischemia rats: A bibliometric approach
Background: Stroke causes severe disability and mortality. Despite
the fact that the pathology of acute stroke is well understood,
publication on chronic stroke is still limited.
Because scarring of glia limits the recovery area of acute stroke and
reorganization capacity is reduced, discovering new treatments for
chronic stroke poses substantial obstacles.
In stroke research, rodent models are commonly utilized, and
behavior testing is a crucial tool. To measure stroke outcomes and
translating rodent findings to therapeutic trials, selecting relevant
behavioral tests that fit the study purpose is critical. Here, we aimed to
look at the last decade’s publications highlighting behaviour tests on
chronic stroke rats. Hopefully, we were able to give more information
about the behaviour tests to facilitate the researchers’ choice of
appropriate test.
Methods: By using a bibliometric analysis, we hope to systematically
discuss rodent behavior tests in chronic stroke research. Documents
were extracted from the Scopus database in April 2022. Excel and
VOSviewer 1.6.18 were used to conduct statistical and graphical
analysis.
Results: Research on "behavioral test in chronic stroke rats" has
progressed quickly, although the researchers have yet to collaborate
with each other. H. Millani was an active researcher and author who
connected numerous researchers, according to documents and
citation analysis. “Animals”, “brain ischemia”, “man”, “publication”, and
“animal experiment” were all common keywords. The majority of the
articles were from the United States and China. The Morris Water
Maze test and the cylinder test were the most commonly used
behavior tests Conclusions Clinical applications and therapeutic effectiveness
against stroke could be improved with more collaboration amongst
authors. When using a behavior test, researchers need to think about
which neurological deficiency is being addressed and whether the test
covers long-term evaluation.
